TIE Oppressor and the Firespray are also getting a mass upgrade.

Or what if it was an AV-21 that you paid Millions for, and they suddenly reduced yours to the speed of a X-34 while everyone who buys a new one goes twice the speed of a Swoop? Its not very fair is it?

But this is not the case is it, the original firesprays and other ships are remaining exactly as they are, newly crafted ones will have more mass, the analogy is flawed. You're argument about it needing to be retro-active I agree with, IF it's possible for them to do without corrupting my character... which it may not be something they can do easily, but hey we only told them in beta a dozen times over that neutrals were screwed on mass, so they decide to listen a month or so after launch, did you expect anything different from them?

This happened to armorsmiths a few times back in the day, the changing first of composite to have electricity as it's special protection instead of energy (back when special protection was 3 or 4% on teh armor not the 3 or 4% MORE than normal protection value), invalidating hundreds of thousands of credits (millions even) worth of stock and supplies, then only to change it again a couple weeks later making the special protections add to the effectiveness, again invalidating any segments and armor you had made in the past few weeks. We complained, they did not alter past items, stock was either sold of cheap or destroyed, it hurt but you just have to acept it and move on, they will not go back and make the changes you seek retroactively.

I'd love to see it go retroactive, but it's just not going to happen, the record of it not happening is there, they aren't gonig to change the way they do it now.

As a master SW i can say that the mass changes are a VERY good thing!

BUT NOT MAKING THE MASS CHANGES RETROACTIVE ON THE FIRESPRAY is just a slap in the face.

Its like u work hard to make RIS armor.

Make it and sell some of it then they patch it to make it so all u worked so hard for is just a % of what can be done now.

Come on DEVs there can be no more then 30 firesptays on a server. Do the right thing and guve us a chance to recraft the ones we crafted or adjust the mass to the new stats

agree totaly, the time and effort that go's into getting these is a pain , and its totaly out of order that these will become second rate , i wouldnt let anyone else do me over like that with my time in Rl why is it being forced upon me here, just compensate me for all my hours spent and return the schems in our datapad to their origional use value ,

p.s anyone know how much more mass the firespray gets?

Supposedly Tuesday.

Sure the analogy above is not 100%, but if it were the speed of a X-34 originally, and then became the speed of a Swoop. You'd be pissed (Or stupid for buying something as fast as an X-34! =)).

There was an auction for a Firespray, the first crafted Firespray on my server. The bids dropped from 13 Million to 6.5 after this announcement. It is destroying the economy.

Fellow Shipwrights,
I come to you with very bad news. Bad news for your sales, bad news for your customers, and especially bad news for the existing craft which you have made, which will soon be worth LESS than the 2 CPU many shipwrights convince customers they are worth. I have asked the question to the Test Center audience, and they have informed me that this change to Starship Mass is NOT Retroactive. Meaning that we will have to re-craft, and re-list every ship that has been changed that is on our Vendors. Also leaving us with no choice but to delete, or insanely undercut the price on the Ixiyen, the Dunelizard, the Kihraxz, and the Kimogilas that we are currently selling from our Vendors.

We REALLY need to make some noise on this, as this will make an otherwise enjoyable profession HELL as customers who have bought things like Ixiyens and Firesprays will turn on us like villians for not somehow providing them with these updated craft from the start. I just sold THREE Firesprays, and the new Mass values will not be updated for them... meaning those three people just wasted Twelve Million credits a piece on craft that will NOT be the best Starfighter once this patch goes live.

This can't be allowed to go to the live servers, it will damage the Shipwright Profession beyond how the undercutting grinders already have!

THE SKY IS FALLING!! /takecover

Seriously though, I don't think that any reasonable pilot is going to blame the shipwrights or demand their money back. The best thing to do right now is to not stock anymore privateer ships until next tuesday and try to inform as much of your customer base as possible, on this forum, the pilots forum and your trade and galaxy forums.

As for the people that bought firesprays... well, they deserve it for having that much money in the first place. /envy

I agree.. having just bought one of these fine ships from Kyrin I would be extremeley disappointed if the mass was not increased retroactively for my existing ship.

As a master privateer pilot I'm almost forced to use the firespray to enjoy using the component levels that I qualify for. Hopefully they bring the rihkxyrk up to the level the firespray is currently (or at least make it 150-160k instead of 130).

While I certainly won't be angry at you Kyrin I will certainly be disappointed in the dev's decision.

I provide a service as a Shipwright. I build Starships. When I put my name on something, I work hard to ensure that whoever buys that craft, enjoys it and I support their future component upgrades and tweaks to ensure they have the highest level of satisfaction possible. If a craft I made for you, suddenly is less than it could be, whether its my doing or not, I feel personally resposible.

I truly hope the Devs will change this, so that the service I have provided up till this point will have not been just a "test" prior to the "real" mass values.

The Oppressor and the Firespray, on top of most Privateer Ships, are slated for this change. Rebels are already deemed to have enough mass.
