My
apologies for my absence from these forums for some time now, and for
making the comments about the Y8 improvements slightly before I was
ready to do so. That said...

I just finished testing the extra turret additions on the Y-8---two new
fully functional turrets on the frontside of the ship that cover the
front and sides of the ship. The range of motion on them is
pretty permissive. Add that to mining laser experimentation
fixes, some decreased asteroid resource requirements on items that use
them, and an increase in the number of resources granted per asteroid
chunk destroyed/tractor beamed, and I think mining in the Y-8 will be a
more attractive proposition. Look for that change in Publish 24.

Looking forward to your feedback on this. Have a great weekend

Sounds good cant wait to see what its like with these improvements.

On a side note is their any info about being able to move items inside of the Y-8 because it makes decorating this thing very dificult.

What about fixing the /move up and /move down commands inside the Y-8 when decorating it? Any fix to that?

Oh, and maybe being able to paint and possibly texture the ship too?

Cool News DP, thanks

And does that fix the quest as well? - I do have one Y-8 on TC so can test it, but many haven't got the ship yet.

here's an idea. Why not fix the quest that actually allows us to get the Y-8 mining vessel first. I mean Publish 18 broke the quets and its been what, 4 months now since it's been broken and no one can even get the ship to enjoy all her bugged features. Any ETA on that?

Just wondering if your planning on increasing the range of other turrets, such as the ARC, Ywing and Oppressor.

The turning raidus of those gunners make it un-fun to sit in the gunner seat and just watch behind you since most all the AI do jousting runs at the front.

That and the piloting lag when you have a turret gunner is rather huge compared to when you don't have a turret gunner. This is especially seen on the Y-Wing. It becomes very unmanuverable with a turret gunner.

While you are here DP - can you please call over to the guys running TC right now and tell them they borked the latest hotfix and we are all crashing to desktop when we hit play (details in bug thread, but that won't be read till Mon if Tiggs takes the weekend off like she deserves to)
