And for those of us that are Female Rangers? I don't recall having testacles being a requirement for Ranger Status...

And not everyone has 5-10 friends that will drop everything to come sit in our camp for 10 minutes so you can grind the Survival exp...

Who cares how you get it? We all know that survival exp is a grind... so is Weaponsmithing.. so is any other class that requires a lot of exp that is hard to get (combat exp anyone). The ability to macro is part of the game, it is written into the client. This doesn't require outside programs to simulate keystrokes.

If the devs had a big problem with it, they wouldn't have added it.

I personally am in full agreement with people who say macro camping is an exploit. It allows you to gain considerable portions of XP without needing to even be in the same room as your computer. It's easy XP, and it is most definitely an exploit. This, to me, cannot be argued, it simply is, that's all. Do I macro camp? YOU BET I DO!!

Why? Because it's an exploit of an intentionally implemented part of the game. We are exploiting the developer included and supported macro system, not some bug that snuck its way into the game. The game was meant to have this feature, so why not use it? Some people have said why pay to play this game if you're not going to actually play it. I say, why pay to play this game if all I'm going to do is sit myself in a camp for hours on end?

I'll be honest with you, I play Ranger for thetitle (cause the skills are useless), with the hopes they'll make it more interesting in the future (hopefully near future). I macro camp because I like pretty camps. Mock me all you want, that's just how I feel. I don't see how using a macro to camp is any better or worse than a musician sitting him/herself in a cantina all day while they're at work.

I'd gladly share my macro with everyone, but it's no different than what's already been posted.

Happy Camping Everyone, however you chose to do it!

Thanks Cygnus for the tip. When I wrote the message I had screwed up so many times the macro I was pretty frustrated. But finally I got it going and in the process got like 500 units of some natural gas there. As fo the debate if it is an exploit or not I believe it isn't. Like many have pointed out I am paying to play the game not tocamp and stare at the screen for 125 hours plus. People have different opinions and remember it's just a game.

You people bitching about this stuff obvoiusly haven't got past Frontiering 1 yet, having to be solo all the time (Which most everyone is, because grouping is pointless.).

You can rack up 1100 xp per 45 minutes. You need 200,000 points of survival experience to master the ranger line. Why do people macro camp again?

To max out your suvival XP on each camp, all you need to do is go with a group of even just 5 friends. After 10 minutes, you can disband your camp and move on... but will be 1100 Survival XP higher.

That is how men will balls do it. You are just a pathetic coward.

I'm assuming you know how to count your toolbar. The spots you are talking about are accessed by pressing Shift F3-F7. You will also need the location where the macro itself will sit. For this I will assume you stuck it right before your camp kits, in the spot you'd access by pressing Shift F2. If it's not there, mody the last line of the syntax so it points to the right location. The top row is locations 00-11, the bottom row is 12-23. Here's how you'd write up your macro. Caps DOES matter!

/ui action toolbarSlot14;
/ui action toolbarSlot15;
/ui action toolbarSlot16;
/ui action toolbarSlot17;
/ui action toolbarSlot18;
/pause 400;
/ui action toolbarSlot13;

There you go. This will run without interuptting your sampling if you do that. I'd recommend sampling at the same time for a couple reasons. 1) Some people have said they get disconnected if all they do is sit in camp. 2) You can always find something to sample and they turn it around and sell it, which is all profit. So you make some credits while you grind out your xp.

Has anyone figured out what the most efficient camp to grind frontiering is? I am currently using the high quality camps and they award approximately 1100 exp per hour. Are the improved camp kits or any of the higher camps more efficient?

Getting experience for camps is a breeze, if you do it right. Try this one out:

1) Take basic Artisan - don't worry, you'll sell it back later.

2) Get a buddy that is an artisan and another that is a medic. I know you have friends who do these things.

3) The three of you go to a place of the artisans choosing. You and he then begin mining whatever crap the artisan currently needs. Give him the stuff when you are done. We mined some stuff that our medic needed too.

4) The medic is there to heal your action pools while you mine. My artisan buddy was also an entertainer so he healed our minds up too.

5) Do all of this inside a camp that you throw up on top of the mining area. Break camp every 10 minutes and throw up a new one, you should get max xps. With all the healing going on the camps will max out in that time.

Using this method. I reaped HUGE camping XPS, my artisan friend got enough material to level up through most of Engineering 4, and my medic friend leveled up too. It's a great cooperative effort and I had someone to talk to, and something to do while using my camps. On a side note, doing this gave me appreciation of what those other two professions do to advance.

I am surprised people don't know this. Here we go, quick and easy.

How to not get auto-logged out by the game:

Before you step away from your PC...type /afk

Hit enter.

If *YOU* initiate the afk mode, you will stay in as long as the server is up and running.

If the client initiates the "auto-afk" mode...you will be logged off within the hour.

That's why your friend can stay on for hours and you get the boot. Because he probably does it without even realizing that is the cause.

Could someone please post an accurate duration time for each tent-style, and the amount of XP obtained from a full-term-expiration of them? So far I have these numbers, but I am not sure of how accurate they are:

Basic Camp: Duration - unknown, XP - unknown

Multiperson: Duration - 40 minutes (is this accurate?), XP - 810

Improved: Duration - 50 minutes 32 seconds, XP - ?

High Quality: Duration - 55 minutes, XP - ?

Field Base: Duration - ?, XP - ?

High-Tech FB: Duration - ?, XP - ?

Thanks,

Mauros
