i am on tatooine, i just got done with brawler. i was thinking about keeping 2h droping the rest and fighting mountian worrts, greater desert rats, squill/mountain squill. i have full armor. i was wondering what the xp would be like for hunting and traping.(time frame to complete.) basically, i want to maximize the xp by off setting it with buffs and a mix of food, drink, spice, and enhanced clothing to take the risk of beibg defeated by larger animals.

has anyone tried this method, also if there is a specific stat migration that has worked well for them please let me know.

I just made my future master ranger, The day i created him my guild was going on a rancor hunt for the meat and such, So i decided to tag along, in about an hour and a half or less i had hunting 4 and exploration 4, with 30k capped exp, waiting to be spent... right now i have trapping 1, and survival 1... these are a pain, But, i have friends helping me so it will be quick, i hope... btw, Rancors give between 1.7 - 2.5k exp each for scouting, and are nice especially if the meat is high level at the time.

The only way -- the ONE AND ONLY WAY -- to properly level Scout AND any combat class is to group for the high-pay destroy missions. For the beginning Scout, group for the 10K hunts on Tatooine or the 13K hunts on Corellelia. Unload like crazy on beasts way over your head and don't worry if you get incaped there will always be a medic who can rez. You will get huge weapon XP, and then hundreds of scouting XP when you harvest. Whenever it looks like the group will hang around for a bit to heal up, drop a camp. It doesn't matter if someone is doing it. Just drop anyway, and often several players will go through it just to be nice. You can't play by the rules of fairness and equality when it comes to camping XP. Either you drop a camp everywhere, or someone else does it. Be obnoxious about it, but do it or it will be a long, long, LONG grind to Master.

For Trapping -- GOD HOW I LOATHE THIS TREE -- you can just grind out those traps, and don't bother with chubas and the like, that is a rank waste of time. When on squill hunts, throw traps at regular squills (will not work on mountain squills) for a good 175 points. And the larger Tatooine rats can give up to 250+ trapping. A nice strategy is to find a liar of some of these beasts near a house, and then hit them with a few traps, and then run into the house. Combat will end, and the beast should regain all lost HAMs, but the status effect will stay. Wait for these to disapear, and then go outside and repeat the process! Fast trapping xp served hot.

that's what I did. and I'll vouch for the fact that it works.

nice guide! an addition to your "camp crafting for survival xp", i gained the 30k survival xp for survival 3 and 4 by crafting the 2 traps you gain the schematics for in trapping 4 (ran out of copper for the metal part in the darts ) with 4 crafting tools and just a normal amount of resources (i think somewhere between 6-10k hides was the biggest amount involved) i got the needed xp in about 4 hours, give or take a little while putting up multiperson camps inbetween. when i thought survival was bad, i didn't think of the app xp needed for master scout though bleh! and now investigation

Delta

May i extend my hand of thanks to you, great guide has helped me so much.

Wish I had seen it earlier.

Now about to hit master, just grinding the wilderness and trapping (which is my worst one!)

At 4-3-4-3 at the mo.

It is full of invaluable advice and tips, have taken some of your advice and amended it to suit my style of play.

The only thing left for a guide is the best hunting guide for each planet, what each creature harvest rate and strength, best way to kill etc... but that is a massive project.

I am currently starting to put some bits together for Tatooine, so if would help then can post it here for a new guide.

Using this method I flew through trapping. I started trapping I yesterday at around 2 PM, and I finished trapping IV at about 6 PM... and that was taking a break for dinner and stuff. Yeah, its pretty "powerlevel"-ish, but it is not a long grind by any means.

It can go faster. I did the entire trapping line from I to IV in about 30 minutes. Once you get to the trapping II traps, put a pet on wrix's and throw traps like crazy. You should get finished with trapping II III and IV extremely quickly. 4 wrix's, 3 mottled, and 2 grand wrixs is all it took for me. And unwield your weapon so you don't take pot shots between throws.

I went easier. I spent about an hour crafting wire mesh or glow-juice traps, found a low-level critter (a durni) and threw every single one at it. It was really too weak to do much damage, and since I got around 100 xp per trap, that is a lot of xp gained. It took a long time 2 craft, but easy to get the trapping xp.

Hi I'm a TKM hologrinder and looked at your post on mastering scout too late, DOOOOH. I just have 1 box left for camping. The only thing i have to add is for Trapping once you get Trapping 3, you can use a Glow-wire trap over and over, so if you are lucky enough to be on Naboo and find a Shaupt Hunter worth 257 xp per trap and fling them quickly you can get Trapping 4 on one critter if you can take the hits and heal your action in the meantime.
