CL60 TKM, Scout 4044.

Tried some +21 trapping food (dweezle?) and a +105 trap droid.

Best I could manage was to stick a lecapine dart ona CL35 swirl prong on Endor - 1 exp

Nothing "green" to me can be trapped.

Guess I'll be burning my /respec to swap camping with traps.

Something new to throw into the mix (pun intended)...

I'm CL15, and have Trapping +15.

I also have a +24 Trapping CA which takes my trapping up to +39.

I then took a +21 Dweezle food, taking it up to +60

I grouped up with a lvl54 friend and was unable to land a trap on anything of lvl50-56, I can only assume that CAs do not work either...

Ah, and the cybernetic +20 to throwing range arm does not seem to work either.

And another problem - trapping does not work with the pass through attack system. Get the can only trap creatures message.

Interesting follow up to this - if you eat the dweezle while the item with the CA is unequipped and then equip it afterwards then it stacks correctly.

Well, my trapping story. I made a new charcter because i have been longing to try out Ranger. I grinded out Ranged support 4, Rifles 4, Rifleman 2200, and Scout 4404. Then I decided to start trapping. I couldn't get any traps to stick, and checked the Ranger forums. I see tons of posts about how trapping was going bonkers. So I dropped all of rifleman, all of scout, and started fresh with only 4004 marksman and some glow wire and Lep-Darts. It went slow, but not too bad for the first box, got it done in about an hour. I would have died trying to trap them but I had my CL30 droid tanking. (Keep in mind that I didnt make the traps i bought crates of those 2) My combat level was 10, and I was getting around 50-90 trapping expper kill. Now i picked up novice rifleman again and am level 14 working on trapping 3. I'm now averaging 60-120 trapping exp per kill, and it is going quite SLOW.... I'm not complaining though, its kind of like new content for the CU since most skills can be grinded incredibly fast (Grinded Master Pistoleer on my main in a day). But yes long story short, trapping is slow and you MUST drop nearly all combat skills in order to get any exp.

The type of traps don't matter so much. It matters more what box of the trapping tree you are on (How much of a +mod you have).

well i was a CL 80 (TKM/MSwords) and couldn't get the 1st box in scout trapping, but then dropped my swordsman skills to getnovice rifleman (grinding to get master) and now atCL 65 (novice rifleman, tkm, andall ofscout except trapping) and still cant get any trapping xp. I amso worried that i will miss the 2x xp week, that i amto the point of dropping tkm. whichwouldsuck, and it may not even help me.

wat can i say, MBE, CH 0023...and 1 xp per... at lvl 28. This is going to drive me insane, i meant to overcome this trapping problem and use token respec as i went from MCH to MBE and forgot to change around my scout skills (so im kinda mad that i screwed up).

I am CL 30 and I have to go to a player city and get mission that are my level and solo them to get any trap experience at all. The mobs MUST NOT be grey to you to get the trap to stick.

Yes it is a VERY slow process, but it can be done. Seems that too man yof you are in such a rush to ge tto CL 80 that you fail to realize that once you are there, you cannot level traps (unless you did so along the way). You can solo stuff your level, Ihave a doc / ranger using just basic weapons and I do so.

the ability to get trapping experience seems to be tied to your CL AND your level in traps, so if you still novice is traps ...then you need to grind critters that are in that appropriate level range. Grind traps as you level up normally, if you rush to CL 80 you will be sorry. Then everything thtat you could normally get trap exp from will be grey to you. Novice Ranger is CL 40 range ......

the problem is, wat if u were alrdy combat lvl 80 and deciding to change ur template!!! A person that is alrdy combat lvl 80 should be able to get decent trap xp just like they can get decent xp of any other proffession!!! a person that has alrdy mastered other proffesions shouldnt hav to drop their profession entirely before starting to train in the new one!!!

it took me 2 days, at least 16 hours total of doing nothing but soloing CL nests my level to grind out scout traps. so technically it is doable, but there is a stopping point...novice ranger. I have yet to stick a trap on ANY critter that is not grey to me since I made novice ranger. I dropped every single skill except master scout and novice ranger ( CL 40 ) and I spent at least 2 hours today flinging every single trap i could, nothing stuck at all.
