Woot!
I didn't get any monkey making opportunities, butI got some monkey milking opportunities!
Close, right?

I would do the obilgatory Homer Simpson reference, but even I'm not that goofy!![]()
What about my sock monkeys?
Moose,
We haven't been given an ETA, but it should be fairly soon.

For all the posters in this thread who seem determined to find fault with *everything*
For gods sake you guys grow the hell up.. you are a SCOUT. Surviving in the WILD is your training. That means you learn how to adapt by using any and all skills available to you. So you wouldn't milk a cow because it's below you but you'll sit there and forage for berries?
I swear some people will find ANYTHING to crab about. If you don't like the skill don't farkin use it. It's that simple.
-Nah-
Master Scout /Squad Leader
and everyone knows the amount of posts you have are in direct relation to the size of your manhood....
he does have a point... my gripe is milking will prolly be like 1-10 units of milk and it will have no rhyme nor reason... milk 1 unit from a piket and 10 units from a gnort... just silly SOE stuff...
hey now.....that is a lot of chest puffing for someone with 20 posts total....
lol
LOL.....i can almost imagine that....
*holds up harness*
"Ole Bessie was always giving me 1 unit every time! i had to use stopping shot on her...."
*breaks down crying*
This is probably the funniest thread I have ever read...hilarious!
But it does give one pause...The biggest issue with milk right now is that it generally doesn't stack (except on rare occasions) and as such is for the most part useless for BEs at the moment (again, with RARE exceptions). So...even if each "milking" event only yields a few units, if the units stack, this will be a big improvement. The idea of churning out a FACTORY CRATE of taming tissues makes me giggle like a school girl....Which I'm not, for the record...very manly....*clears throat, shuffles papers*
Anyway, since I'm a MBE, I'm hoping that you scouts will not have to deal with some of the innanities that we see in the DNA sampling skillset. For example:
- Sampling DNA a sufficient number of times apparently kills the creature. Since we're talking DNA here, you can only imagine the trauma that milking will inflict given its macroscopic effects.
- Sticking a needle in certain animals does result in aggro; I don't know how pinching their nipples will lessen their ire.
- DNA does not stack...ever...a very big hassle when you look at inventory space. I hope milk (a fluid) will stack.
- Also: I think the best idea of the bunch would be to create a character named Gaylord Fokker at this time. The references to this movie in previous posts underscores the hillarity of this idea.

- Last: I wonder if they could also get you guys to milk rancors to make crustaceans
. Why can't the biggest part-crustacean in the game give up tissues that its made out of anyway?
Good luck guys! I look forward to the patch and your help
. We've been waiting a long time (and since the CH nerf, this product will be in HIGH demand)!

Huh? I thought Mon Cals were the biggest crustacean in the game. They obiviously were modeled on lobsters.
"It's a trap!" <insert Mon Cal emoticon here>
At what level? Master, or somewhere lower on the skill tree? Frankly I'd hope for this to be a Master-level ability, because while as a Master Bio-Engineer I'd like to see more milk available, I'd also hate for it to flood the market (as it were).
Well, I'm a Master Bio-Engineer as well as a Master Scout. I see lots of Active Tranquilizer tissues in my future. ![]()
Delta, any word on linking fish and mollusks to hunting, as well? It takes forever to collect decent amounts of fish, such that I've never even bothered trying to make Pet Stim D's.It's not worth it. Being able to fish and harvest larger amounts of meat at each level of hunting would be very beneficial.
Delta, I understand that reusing code saves time and effort, it's a basic premise of programming.... However, we have a Survival modifier, since foraging is in limbo it's mostly used to check which camp we can use. While I don't pretend to know SWG's source code it shouldn'tmake a difference if they use the same formula as the harvesting, but replace the harvesting modifier with the survival modifier. As far as the computer is concerned it's just the source for a variable.

Guys,
I still haven't gotten an idea on how this is going to be implemented, but if I had to guess, I would think it would be linked to our harvesting ability. Saves a lot of new coding to just tie it to something that's already in there.
