OK, don't quite know if this is a bug, or working as intended or what.


In pub 18, all the sudden you can't see level numbers on players or NPCs in your con disk.


Unless you target them, then in the upper right hand corner of the screen, the number appears inside the disk.


I noticed with my FS survival line 4/0/4/0 scout, Tazz, that he has the level displayed when he examines a critter, in the popup box that is supposed to give you detailed information on the creature. The information on resists and vulnerablities is still missing but is supposed to be eventually brought back, or so we've been informed by Ko over on the CH forum. I assume this means that rangers with the right skills will be able to see things like special attacks and so forth eventually again also.


However, my non-FS 4/0/4/0 scout, Zanti (he's a novice CH and an MBE, needs maskscent if he wants to sample the big boyz) does NOT see the level displayed when he examines a critter.


So, my assumption is that the intent was to restore detailed information on mobs back to the master scout/FS survival line with the right scout skillset. So that again, master scout would have creature information that other players do not have, because they've invested the SP to get that information.


But it's broken, in that you can still find out the level by targeting the creature.


Paks, can you find out what the deal here is?

Moving the number out of the con circle was part of the fix for color blind folks I think......

I've run into this one several times, and /bugged it twice. It doesn't seem to be tied to a particular creature, it's just a bug that crops up occasionally.

If you kill them anyway, you'll find you also can't harvest afterward. The two bugs seem to go together.

Update 6.20.05
  • When trapping creatures, many times the message "you can only use this trap on creatures" will appear. You will not be able to throw a trap at this creature.


  • When maskscent breaks, the creature will instantly aggro you. Pre-CU there was a chance that the creature would not aggro you and if you stayed very still and waited you could re-apply maskscent and try again. Now there is no chance to re-apply. Many times it is safer to not use maskscent and just hope the creatures will not aggro you instead of usising it and ensuring they aggro you.


  • Milk/eggs/seafood do not autostack.


  • It is not possible to fish on Kashyyyk.

You can try Dweezel (the trapping food), though if the highest creature you can trap right now is 5 then that will probably not give you a big enough boost. Or you can drop your combat skills until you are level 5 and go from there. *wince* Not great options I know.

Not sure if this would count as a bug but it is something that happened to me. I was a 3xxx scout and had 40K scouting xp banked, decided I wanted to be xx3x instead so I could get some more out of my harvesting. I gave up my 3 in exploration and still had the 40K scouting xp. I went to a scout trainer and was unable to get the xx3x right away. I got trained in boxes 1 and 2 and had only 4K left. I never received the message that my xp was being taken away for exceeding the cap. By my math, 2K + 4K = 6K not 36K.

Thanks Vorpaks. The Dweezel did help a bit. It gave me the use of Trapping 1 traps which did work on my level 18 & 19 hunts. It was just enough for me at level 20. Still, I'd like to try my new Trapper droid I just icked up from Sharo droids but, I need to find a Ranger willin gto load the high level traps for me.

I just ran into the Trapping xp problem. I am at 4044 in Scout, hoping to make it to Ranger one day and I don't want to waste a respec on something that's just inherently broken like this. My combat level is sitting at 20 and I can't get a Novice trpa to go off on anything over level 5 or so, netting me a whole 1 xp. I'm sorry if I don't want to hunt thousands of 1 xp critters to keep from respeccing the Trap line in.

So, is there a work around for this? Is the bug related to my Trapping skill or the types or traps used? Will buying high level traps help? Will getting a handful of Trapping skill attachments help, if there is such a thing?

A note on this note.


Creatures that con grey to you, if aggro, should maskscent break will alsoINSTANTLY aggro you, even though they con grey to you.


To test this, go to the Warren. First room has all the huurtons and scientists fighting each other? Well, I went in with maskscent up (I'm level 80, huurtons are level 53 or so there, grey con) and two of them IMMEDIATELY latched on to me.


So I got the Lok out of Dodge. The two followed me up and outside of the Warren, and I was able to subdue them using my dirty smuggler skills like advanced concussion to freeze them up and slowly deal with them as they're elite critters, which means they have higher than normal H for something of their level.


THEN I went in without MS. The huurtons ignored me completely, as they're supposed to do in this brave new "nothing that's grey should attack you even if they're aggro" world.

I got the grey con one in the last update - Thunderheart let me know that he had pulled it for the bug database, so it is definitely a known issue now. If they fix trapping, and if everyone agrees, i think i will bump this up to the top three most annoying bugs.

I'd go along with that, but by all means, Paks, keep pounding on trapping. It's game breaking, it needs resolution ASAP.
