Great job putting the guide together, I've been moving up the ranks since I read it. I have however, found that the exp cap for basic camps is 360. Everytime I camp, no matter how many people come through I only get 360. I've really only been playing after the patch so I don't know if they changed the cap or if itsmy workmanship in building the kit itself.

That's a change from after the patch. The 640 was what you were getting before. I need to update the guide.

Carbines are OK to use, not the greatest mind you butok. Iam nearly a master scout (just need a little more trapping XP) and I am also a novice carbineer andI can solo dewbacks and greater sludge panthers not super great yet, but ok for a guy flying solo. IfI use my petgreater sludge pantherI can take almost anything.The secret of my sucess; action shotto bleed em and suppression fire by leg shot2/3 can take em out fast.

Thanks so much for the guide. I am a very fledgling scout (started SWG 2 days ago) and had no idea what to do and where to start and getting no help from the population at large. Your guide has helped me focus on what I need to progess in this profession. Grats!

Hey Brisc,

Just a question on harvesting Macros. You say in part 1 of your guide to type in "/harvest hide " to set the macro for harvest hide. I can't seem to get it to save as a macro . i went to ctrl-A, then went to macro tab. went to new macro, typed in /harvest hide, tried to save , and it says macros cant have spaces. have tried without spaces, and it will save, but macro won't harvest hides. If it just type in /harvest hide in the chat window it works. I am tired of using the radial to harvest hides, and would like a macro that i can shortcut and put in my toolbar. Please help. I know it has got to be something simple i m doing wrong.

Brisc, thanks for pointing out what a dumb@#% I am ! I am pretty sure I was typeing in the title spot. As soon as I get the patch downloaded and actually make it into the game, I'll check.

Patches + 28.8 connection suck ! Next time I think I'll buy a house in town, where broadband flows like Wine !

If you are getting the"macros can't have spaces", you're typing in the title of the macro.

You type the actual macro in the box below where all of the icons are.

Try that - if it doesn't work, let me know.

I started paltying the game as a Novice Marksmen on 8/17/03. Two days later I found a NPC Scout trainer and trained to be a scout. It took just 1 week of intentive training, but I got the Master title on 8/24. After that I cut back on my training and just became a Novice ranger on 9/7.

Now that Mask scent offers scout xp, its easier to quickly gain xp. For traps, I went hunting on Tatooine for Dewbacks, Rontos, and Dragons; throwing at least 1 of each type of trap I had at the time. Camps, it just takes time, try to get a group togther and use your camps

Now go and use the guide, its very helpful for all newcomers!

Delta you do a great job on the boards. I've been in the game since beta 3 and have played as a scout the whole time. Your guide is right on! Keep up the great work your doing for the scout/ranger classes!
