Thread: From Novice to Master How to Become a Master Scout (Game Guide Version 2.)
This may not be the post for this, but one of the things I do when taking down what I refer to as large creatures is pick my battles. I spend most of my time on Rori and when hunting tortons I prefer to do so in the swamp. If there isn't a stream close by, one i can wade through, I move on. It will definitely make a difference. Unfortunately, this tactic won't work for most planets and won't work for some creatures. It's really kind of weird. Nudfuh will almost disappear completely when crossing a stream, shallow tortons just slow down, basic tortons seem to speed up (only hunted them once), krevols don't slow down at all, nor do gualamas, go figure. The other thing I insist on is having three good weapons and using them wisely. I currently have all, sliced, a DL44, DH17, and a Laser rifle. For long range I use the laser rifle, I can take down most whitesand some yellows with one mindshot2,I've seen 1200+ damage with that one shot. If I'm swarmed I switch to the DH17 once they get within 35m. If they close to 10-15m, I switch to the DL44. Each weapon has advantages at certain ranges, learn them and use them to your advantage.

There’s an easy way around this: bring an artisan friend camping. To get my last 5000 wilderness XP, I joined my friend, the Weaponsmith, on a crafting trip. Every time he stopped to sample, I healed him – sampling takes away action XP and can be healed by a medic – and then danced to heal the mind wounds my /tendwound skill gave. In no time, he was getting great samples, and I was getting great camping XP, without needing to wait 15 minutes to get the max XP.
It doesn't only take 15 minutes to get the max xp you can get per camp. Is this outdated or somthing?
thanks for the great tips
there is so much to learn. some things in your post i don't know about .
but learning is part of the game i guess
anyway thanks again

Alone My numbers for going on the Multi person camping kit are showing that is it is possible to get 3k Survival Xp per hour.
Get Novice medic, target self, type /tendd, drop camp for 10mins, at 10min timer, disband camp, rise & repeat.
at the 10min mark alone i see roughly about 500 survial xp, at 15mins i see 605. this is alone, since i idle while im at work.
This is a GREAT guide. It really helped me a lot. Especially with knowing what to sell my goods for on the bazaar, which I'm still kind of unfamiliar with. You forgot to mention lair searching...which can get you things like eggs and bio samples to sell with very little effort. Meat and eggs (which I have found LOTS of in lairs lately) seem to sell very well and for great money. They seem to bring a little better price thanhides, but all my hides are selling well to. I just made Explorer last night and I think I'm going to try some of the naboo missions you mentioned. Up until now I've done most of my hunting on Tatooine, but the terrain on Naboo is just much more interesting and appealing.
I use a carbine, which I'm almost an expert in.You mentioned rifles as the best weapons for scouts, but I do quite well with the carbine and don't want to starttraining a rifle at this point. Carbines generally work very well at midrange and some of them are great at close range, they aren't the best for long-range as rifles beat them hands down in that arena...but in concert with traps a carbine is quite deadly. Traps thatdeplete action bars on critters go well with legshot1 and 2. Glowjuice and spinebone trapswill let you takedown a blue and sometimes white critter in one shot atmidrange especially if you use overcharge shot.
The one thing I don't like about scouting is being alone most of the time, which is why I've balanced my character with entertainer and medic skills. When I get tired of the lonely outback, I spend some time in the nearest cantina. I guess I need to make some more friends in game andinvite them to go hunting with me. I talk toRingo (my rock beetle) while I sit in my camp or dance around like a loony out in the boonies
It would be nice to have a friend or two to chat with while roasting marshmallows over that campfire
I still love the proffession though and plan to try for at least novice ranger.
Thanks again for the guide and if you ever make a character on Sunrunner look me up.
