Thread: Tips For Rifleman
I'll just have to keep my mouth shut on tactics. Your doing a good job as corespondant though.
Look forward to shooting you hun *wink*
I've been having great difficulty soloing as a rifleman because when I take cover and fire on the enemies, many times they will warp directly to my position and hit me while I'm prone. I know the dev's made a change to the AI so that they wouldn't get stuck behind structures and unable to get to the player, but when I was doing the Jabba missions, there were several instances where I was crawling up from 70m away and several melee NPC's would suddenly be giving me a severe beating while I was supposedly creeping up on them. Because of this warping problem, I have more xp in pistol than rifle, and I only use pistol as a last resort to my rifle... although it seems that I use the pistol the majority of the time.
I've also had problems with take cover where when I stand up, I move much slower than normal. It's as if I run and walk half speed. Is this a bug from a recent patch? It's very annoying, and the only way I can correct the problem is to disconnect and reconnect.
Thank you for your time and hard work,
Mr Plaid

I know. We will be mixing it up with you guys eventually. Though I don't think we have the girlpower to compeet right now (only 7 of us with 2 on leave). Going after a bigger PA next, but thier not nearly as good of PvP'ers as you guys. Guess we will see.

PS: As this is the tips page and I hate hijackers...
TIP:
Carry at several rifles.
1) DLT20a - For downers and low mind situations
2) Laser or T21 - Which ever does the best DPS for you.
3) Jawa Ion - For people in heavy composite
4) Have a several good rifles with various damage types to beat npc resists in PVE and conserve your best for PvP.
Always use the best rifles, best slices and best power ups. A 30%+ dammage slice, and a 33% power up can significantly increase your DPS when shooting with specials with high damage mulipliers.
the other day i was so mad with my rifleman i just about gave up on him. i had been chatting with my friend in tells about how his bh was going exp and making money for missions. basicly he 1 - 4 light lighting cannon in one day and bh pistol in two. considering i started before him and only had 4 0 0 2 i was pretty pissed, o and he had upwards of 300k from doing 25k missions. I had on the other had 30k in the bank from selling meat ....
I had been on talus killing torturs, they are pretty good exp 3100 rifle exp per tortur bull. i could kill one in around 2 to 3 hs3 and would send my pet in if it charged me.
my bh friend on endor was getting 4500 exp per kill and 25k for each mission.
i though well hey i have to see his set up for my self what is he doing which was so good?
i went along found him and we joined up for a good 2 hrs in which i made more money than i had ever had in the game. He could down a punbam in cuple shots of his LLC or a volly from his pistol. i would end up half way though one mobs mind bar and run out of mind to keep shooting. I decided i shouldgo for BH like him because i liked the idea of becomming rambo ^ . ^
at the time i was also upset with how poor the rifle game play was compeared to game i had played. I had really wanted to become a "sniper" what keeps me going is the hope that if eilte L337 do come out i am still get a chance.
My tip for exp is quite simple
1) Talus i find is still the best, once your have found a nest of torturs use mask scent prone at 55 meters from the nest start with the biggest then move your way down using hs3 (i highly recommend getting your self some gold) when the side effects start kill the last mob and run 200 - 250 meters away from the nest it will completey re heal and re stock its spawns. repeat intill board and/or falling asleep on the keyboard set in.
2) for money i recommend endor you will need a stronge pet and alot of pet stims. punbams are the best as the nest does not spawn any mobs. the trick to it is to send your pet in useing the attackcommand on one of the mobs then call it back stright away with the follow command, (here you get revenge and can use ninja warping creatures to your advantage) about 1 - 2 will warp on to your creature get your creature to attack one and make sure you attack the same on as your pet (if you don't attack the same as your pet this creature will agro you as the only source of damage) becarefull because if you pet runs off or chases the creature away it will run out of range very fast, espically if it is a greater sluge panther. keep doing this to all the nest mobs are dead then kill the nest and enjoy the bling bling bling.

You may all hate the Rifleman profession. Thats what made me go rifleman. There is nothing better than playing the underdog profession. I find Rifleman to be a hard profession to start, but a very rewarding profession to play. I love to hunt, and hunt I do. I can kill ANYTHING with my Rifle.
Tip: If you are having a hard time leveling up to the better rifle shots, get CH 2201. It doesnt take that long to get, and it will speed your rifleman XP up by 10X. Send your critter in first, and then blast away. Get a low HAm Laser or a good DLT20a, and you will have your rifletree growing by leaps and bounds.
Have Fun, and see ya online
RamonTroy whatcreature and wheredid you find the best exp? for sending pet in then blasting away?
Instead of a pistol for speed. I use a spraystick. They are pretty quick usually. Mine is something like 1.6 speed and damage of min 35 max 168. And it gives you rifle xp.
I heard a rumor that we rifleman will be able to be a primary puller of mobs. Is this true!?! Are we going to get a shot that will only pull one mob at a time? I think this would greatly assist the rifleman profession.

well actually...theres a current way to do so.....kreep up...mindshot...fall back behind your melee mates and wait till the bleed begins
*on a side note...the rifle should at least shoot from 20 meters further.....and I believe as well that in Prone, Aim, and headshot should have a dramatic increase in accuracy anddamage imput ...cause thats basicly the way to snipe.
