I don't WANT to group hunt big game. If I have to group, why in hell should I put up with the BS that exists in this profession? It's a fairly quick grind thanks to the massive XP advantage of /headshot while group-hunting medium-large game by letting the party's spice-hepped TKMs and lvl800 raging bull destroyer rancors tank while you sit back with the firing line and spam out headshots. Assuming there aren't too many graul maulers beating on a target, you can pull in an easy 2-3K of XP per kill. This is possible because of the massive mind hits we can do, which is apool that isn't beaten on nearly as readily by other professions.


RIflemen are toast against any melee specialist who knows how to PvP. Tip: when the duel is accepted, you are probably standing less than 10m from him, and he probably has a lot more resists than you do.

ok i m master rifle and have a T21 (5.5 speed), and when i use a 30%+ speed powerup i barely notice a speed dif, i rather use a dmg powerup and kill almost any1 in pvp in 3 hits with headshots. and if we get the speed cap by say 3 seconds u guys have to know they can't triple our dmg cause that means we have a darn good chance of ko'ing ppl in 1 hit and all the bh's would go crazy lol. I can't say i wouldn't complain but for the sake of balance it would never happen, a lil dmg increase would be nice though if we do get speed cap, just don't get u hopes up fellow riflemen.

Will start by saying played beta/played since launch - done most combat professions. The Master Rifleman hits hard those who aren't master don't - Hs3 is good but it's not all that. Rifleman does not get very many worthwhile attacks beyond Hs3 and Conceal. Suprise shot looks to be conceal with another name and requires the dubious cover.


Pistoleer has fan-shot and stopping shot - fanshot is extemely effective. And in PVP unless your opponent is buffed with a 3 second cap - you are dead.


Most classes have an insta-kill. Commando's burn. CMs poison/disease. Smuggler's delay. TKA - KD and Dizzy and other melee classes have area-kd etc.The volume of damage at Master Rifleman is largely redundant in PVP - we know there is a bug in Strafe 2 that causes it to hit multiple times on a single target, this is probably where the excessive perception begins.


Yes the damage is high and so is the mind. I have 4304 in Rifleman and I miss a reasonable amount, miss too often with Hs3 and you're gone. How many other classes have a virtual forced drug dependency? None. At TKM you throw away the knuckles.


Check the defences on Pistoleer - +105 dodge at Master. Check the defences on TKM or other melee classes (Fencer/Pikeman). Check them on Rifleman - they stink comparatively and this we were balanced through damage. Infact - check your ranged defence compared to Pistoleers etc - Pistoleer attacks aren't that bad and they're loaded with defences.


I get hit with fire kd and confusion, or a KD/Dizzy - I am dead. No two ways about it - no KD or Dizzyresists worth-mentioning. Flurry-Shot - hasn't proved reasonable to use considering suppression fire rarely causes a posture change. Startle Shot - a counter sniping technique - how many of you PVP in the field prone in a serious way? Why would I chose this over another attack - would like to hear reasons and this is almost my last tree to finish.


I don't have a problem with Rifleman atm (exempting the Strafe 2 bug) - we have so many shortcomings; few choices of attack, high ham cost and forced drug dependency, several skills that seemingly have no application (also the low damage on Flurry 2 - just seems to attractall the opponents as opposed to achieve any worthwhile function) - much safer to use conceal. The skill system in rifleman looks developed based on how they thought Rifleman might be used and not how it is- I was Rifleman (Prior Pistoleer)until early September, dropped it and went BH/CH, TKM, MCH, Rifleman/CM/Doc... Done others in beta also. So I have solid experience with all professions - try throwing a mind-poison at a Rifleman and watch them logout =) It's over as soon as that touches them. It's about how you fight as much as what you can do - I do feel the cry of hate towards Rifleman is the Strafe 2 Bug. Rather see that go and then ask "What does it mean to be Rifleman?"

played rifleman when the warping and the 2.5 and all that. that sucked and yes tkm can unarmed lunge and geuss what your on your knees while they finish the charge to dizzy kd from 20m away.the fact is mind cost are not an issue with the damage output of your rifle you dont need to spam shots. i have one shot killed in pvp it was strafe 2 with the lucky random pool bieng the poor bastards mind for a considerable amount of damage using a laser rifle against a helmetless fool. not that a helmet or any armor would do him any good any way its called a jawa ion rifle which is my "oh you think that composite helmet will protect your mind pool from me?" gun. Rifleman doesnt need to be changed. if you want to cap our speed quoting the well in real life a rifleman would fire slower than a pistol user anyway let me say this in real life a sniper can hit his target from half a mile away i dont know how many meters that would be but im willing to bet its a hell of alot more than 64 meters and definitly more than anyone can hit with a pistol. and why should a pistoleer do as much damage if not more than a rifleman? i tell you what take an m14 rifle and a 9mm pistol and shoot something with them tell me which you think did more damage. dont change rifleman its fine if you want balance try fixing the other clases that are crying about us.

I don't know why everone is whining about rifleman. I play rifleman I solo big game and I don't get killed. Riflemen aren't supposed to be up close and personal so they should have huge health and action pools. I have maxed my mind pools and killed everything else. I am a sitting duck for almost any profession up close, but far away and I will light them up. Forget the speed cap just leave us alone, we do are job well at our range and we suck when we are in someone elses range.

I'm very scared by the thought of a speed cap like 3 seconds. IF they do something like that.. we had BETTER get a fairly LARGE increase to damage or we're screwed.

speed cap is fine with me. Give us more damage, fix the damage on rifles, they're all messed up, as well as the damage type on at least the tusken.

Oh, I just read someone who does mostly PvE whining about a possible speed cap.


USE CONCEALED SHOT.


Any rifleman worth a **edit** can take out red creatures, by himself, if he wants to, simply by using a good damage t21 and conc shot. Keep a non ch pet on you too, to draw the creature off if he charges.

Everytime I read through these forums i get more and more scared about the great coming "NERF". I'm a novice rifleman 0010 and I can just see the nerf coming right when i almost get to master. In the mean time, I'm trying to speed up my rise to master but get confused on tactics. Some people say get mind shot first, other say "you must get flushing shot 2". Other still say just get sniping level 4 asap! I'm currently debated weather to use my combat xp on suppression fire, or just forget that and use it in the rifleman tree. Whatever, happens I hope they dont make me regret my profession as soon as i get to it!

I get so pissed everytime i read this rifleman forum. Ive been rifleman since the day i started this game and after 9 professions i havent dropped it. If the Devs try to put a speed cap on rifleman we are totally screwed. I have a hard enough time being effective solo at master. By the time I get my second shot off with a 3 second firing rate the mob will be withing 15 meters of me. This will totally make the whole profession bunk in my mind. I cant solo a krayt(except w/ conceal shot and their so bugged its a loosing battle with their infamous de-spawning capabilities) if i do it right I can solo a rancor, maybe two. IVE SEEN TKA's AND MASTER PIKEMAN SOLO 4 BEFORE. And people are calling us overpowerd? OMG>.....come on, leave us alone....we are decent as we are. competitive in PvE and an invaluable asset in high level NPC hunting,
