1. Change the way accuracy is handled with rifles so that at ranges of 40-63 meters a rifleman is almost guaranteed to hit his target unless he is moving.


I dont not agree- Riflemand is distance and 40 meters is Carbineer range not rifle. You should be 50-75 meters.

Hello fellow Riflemen,


These are my opinions on the petition items


1. Both pistols and rifles need to be adapted for range. Pistols have short barrels for close combat situations and concealment. Period. Real pistols are horribly inaccurate especially if not handled properly and in a decent stance. Of course there are exceptionally skilled pistoleers in RL. Rifles have longer barrels for greater accuracy at long range. I think this really needs to addressed in the game. Range for pistols should be shortened, or rifles extended. Heavier penalties at longer range based on weapon type would make sense.


2. This isn't too clear to me. Whichever of aiming or accuracy gives higher damage bonuses should be what get bigger increases. As riflemen, we would take our time and pick a good opportunity/location to shoot for higher damage. This should be reflectedas a skill.


3. Yes, increase their range!


4. AR is an excellent way to help balance the pistol/rifle problem.


5. Yes, Conceal Shot like that would be excellent, but only if cover/mask scent is enabled and not beaten by the MOB.


6. Stiffer aiming penalties for concealed opponents is excellent. I think concealment is well defined as is.


7. Ranged defence as opposed to melee defence is a good idea for the reasons you give (namely x3 damage to prone makes any modifier to melee defence useless), but melee defence is still useful too. Perhaps split how much goes to each (instead of +20 melee, +15 ranged, +5 melee).


8. I think sniper shot is fine, but "aim"-ing before a sniper shot should greatly increase accuracy (and proportional increase to damage).


9a and b. Agree


10. Yes, get rid of Strafe shot 2.


So, I heartily agree on points 1,3,4 5,6,9a,9b,10. Points 2, 7, and8 are good ideas, but need some clarification on what is being asked for.

These would be some great changes. Add another rifleman nod for all of them. I want to feel like a rifleman, I've grown up shooting rifles and swg is ridiculous in its current state, and these tweaks would go a long way to alleviatingsome of that.

Have a max range of more than 64 meters makes so much sense I dont know why it hasnt been implemented. The whole idea behind rifles is that you use range to your advantage, yet a master pistoleer, or carbineer (sp?) have minimal penalties to hitting at 50-60m. As it is right now, pistols have a MUCH higher damage/time ratio than rifles. Duels are ridiculous so dont even try to duel anyone who has decent pistol skills, the rifle just cant keep up!

as a side note, since servers don't have correspondents, I think that all servers who lack resources for decent weapons should go to their professions correspondents to see if he can be an advocate for them. Frankly, it's ridiculous that due to the random nature of resources some servers can't make decent weapons, this completely unbalances and skews the gameplay for many people, in a way that's out of their control. To be fair all servers should have at least a limited amount of all resources, that way all weapons can be made, but the amount and quality will vary...that is a fair way of introducing differences based on server population while not crippling certain professions.



I myself am a rifleman from flurry, who could greatly use a t21.

11. So incredibly strongly Agree. For several reasons.
We're riflemen, we should most certainly have a
greater max range and a greater accurate range than
any other weapon in the game. The romance of the
rifle is the range. I believe that if just the T-21
were increased to a max accurate range of 100
meters or so that could suffice. I wouldn't think
that just any old marksman with a Tusken Rifle
should be able to take out moving targets at 100+
meters. Perhaps certain rifles could have a greater
range than others(these increases would be slight,
perhaps with the T-21 reaching 100 meters stock).
And this could be further augmented by perhaps the
sniping accuracy skills set. Where perhaps each
level of sniping accuracy could yield a generic max
accurate range increase of 5 or 10 meters that would
apply to all rifles used by the rifleman. This way
normal rifle users are more balanced, and rifleman
are more appealing as well as more useful. I don't
think a master rifleman with an expertly crafted
and sliced T-21 rifle able to pick off distant
targets from 150 meters is very much unbalanced
considering a Master Pistoleer with an equally well
crafter DX2 can devestate enemies at a range of 60
meters. Increasing the overall maximum range of
rifles could possibly negate the need for any of the
other 10 suggestions.
