Thread: Teleporting Monsters Suck
I just hope they decide to fix this soon, as I have completely given up on my rifle while running missions (hunting bigger mobs is a different matter, as I usually at least have a group to give me the waypoint when some monster decides to pop by for a friendly little "chat" on how nice the extra melee damage on rifleman is, especially when having things drop on top of you)

I probably have the worst case warping scenario of all.
Me and some friends( about 15 or so) are heading out to kill us some krayts we had just found. We start out the attack and draw them into a large group of dewbacks. THe krayt takes the bait and starts attacking the Dewies. I start in with my MS 1 MS 2 and then HS2's. Suddenly i am prompted that a creature broke my maskscent, and I am going **edit** then slain the DB. Crap I spawn at wayfar 5k's away only to realize they had taken auto insurance off and all my gear is sitting at the feet of that **edit** krayt. I evntually make it back to my pbody to see my fellow group members engaging the thing atleast 100m away so i make a break for my gear pick it up and have time to equip it. I try to help my friends by warning shot the krayt(yes it does work just not 100%) suddenly it says target too close to use this weapon. Poof he is behind me and i am once again hiking from wayfar.
For the love of god fix this.
Ok everytime from now on while I am sitting around with a 70 second incap timer because of something teleporting on top of me I am posting in this thread. Damnit this is annoying.
OK, so I found a temporary and rather ugly solution to this horrible bug; send in your pet as a distraction.
I target the Mountain squill, give my pet the attack command and remain standing until I actually see the two engaged in battle ( this way I know how far its going to warp out of my attack range ). At that point I fall back to my ideal range and open up with the usual attack.
The reason this is an ugly temp solution- it now adds on the additional time it will take me to heal my Greater Desert Womp rat back to full health, along with the time it would take me to regen my mind pool from all the rifle specials I use.
Which means I now get to spend 5 minutes sitting on my ass doing nothing.....
and here I thought it was just a bug all along. Being a rifleman this problem has been no fun what so ever. I've been incapped and DB'd many a time by "warping" baddies. Bah...I had no idea that this was implemented by the devs. *sigh* I don't know if I feel any better about it now that I know it is in there on purpose. What kills me is that this happens in an open field or stretch of desert. I guess npcs can't find there way around a rock thats between them and me. Please devs, do something about this. Against lower level creatures its not a problem but when ur trying to lure out a single high level creature from a pack only to have 5 warp on top of me is really really really annoying.

Warping melee mobs basically makes ranged combat entirely pointless, and should not be a quick fix for inadequate pathing. Having an ATST go from 90m to stomping on you instantly is just...well...ugh.
/bugged it a million times, will continue to do so - I advise you to follow suit.

This creature "warping" drives me nuts and has killed me several times. While trying to kite creatures or even just run away for my life, theykeep warping on top of me until I'm dead.
This needs to be fixed!
and when my mask scent failed the Krayt went from 64m to 0m in 0 seconds....
This didnt happen once.... It happend everytime!
I dont mind it so much when its a Kaduu... but when a creature that hits for 1k does it... can be REALLY irritating.
