Um, Haden, play pistol for awhile. Knockdown once every 30 seconds, high HAM costs. Also no effects shots except for bleeding shot with healthshot2 (very weak bleed rate compared tocarbine, rifle bleed shot) and suppression fire which will soon be once every 30 seconds.

Has anyone else sent a bug report on this? I did the other day. Going to try to make it a daily thing. I also posted in the tech support section since I consider this a bug.

My suggestion to fix this was have the creature sidestep (warp sideways say 5m). This should clear its path without it getting closer.

I've also sent in about the line of sight. I'd like to be able to use the terrain to screen if I'm trying to break contact. As it stands now since you can shoot straight thru mountains and such the only thing the terrain does is slow you down. Without seeming to effect the NPC.

need to keep this bumped

i think this is a major issue for us, and should be in our next correspondant submission (probably should have been in this one, but it's not really a rifleman issue since it effects everyone)

heh i've had this happen too many times to even nail down one story, but i find it makes doing unique missions especially hard. for example, while doing the zicx bug bomb quest, you have to rescue a woman from valarian thugs. well, when you walk up she appears in the waypoint, and of course, a few seconds later the combat music starts and the mobs appear already attacking you. this is usual. what sucks about it is that i see 3 valarian assassins appear about 50m away, then all of a sudden i'm instacapped, THEN i see them appear right on top of me.. teleporting issue combined with server/client lag..

This should be in the next submission. It's not exclusively a rifleman issue granted. But it's a major issue for us. I'm sure it's effecting the other ranged classes equaly. Anyone know if any of them are posting about thise issue too? It would be nice to get all six ranged classes to include this on the next submission. It would probably get some quick attention. So if any of you are pistoleers, carbineers, commandos, or bounty hunters please submit it on their boards. I'll throw a thread link on the marksman board for the same issue. Guess I could do it for the others also but think it would be better coming from one of their own so to speak.

Yup, this one is particularly fun on advanced planets where you really need to use every tactic you have.

It's very frustrating to have a good spot to shoot from, a good target, and a good aim. To need just one more shot to kill that tough mob and suddely *POOFFF* it's on top of you and one hit death blows you.

Happened to me yesterday I guess about 30 times. I'm a Ranger you see

I noticed this as well and it actually seems to be getting worse. Nargs on naboo are bad but Peko Peko's are notorious for teleporting to you once they know where you are. So essentially you are prone shooting a Peko and then the Peko gets a free hit with damage multiplier while you stand up...

Excellent input, people (*cough* bump *cough*)

Aldeon, I know that you know all about this... should be #1 or #2 on your next report!

Warping + x2.5 Melee is killing us way too often!

Have they changed the way we take damage in the last two days?
Twice in the last two days I've taken over 800 damage from a blue con meatlump on corellia.
Once I was kneeling the other I was standing. That damage seems way excessive for a basic npc.

Got a bit of good news. I've posted a link to this thread and some comments on all the ranged combat class boards. Just posted on Bounty Hunter, Pistoleer, Carbineer, and Commando. Also I talked to the Marksman correspondent and he's going to put the issue on his next report.

Hopefully we can get some of the others to do so also. The more that do this the better the chance for a fix. I haven't heard from Aldeon or seen a post to know if he's going to do so also. Keep your fingers crossed.

If this is indeed the case for everything (including humanoid mobs), this will drastically change the way bounty hunters take their marks down. Right now some strategies for taking marks down include luring marks into the cities and using environment (walls, hallways, etc.) while fighting to allow yourself to heal. This is absolutely crucial with marks that hit for minimum 500-700 damage to a random pool(I've had 1900 ones).

In the cities what we do sometimes is basically a run around some big building with many walls; thus using them for cover, sometimes bleeding marks over time. If the marks start warping to us every time we hide behind the wall, you can imagine whats the net result is going to be. I'm going to keep bumping this on our boards.

/agree - I hope they fina another solution.

I had this happen to metonightwhile trying to find a clear LOS to take a BH mark from in the forests of Naboo. While moving into position, the mark aggroed and warped to me after my first shot (Underhand - missed). I fired an Underhand(which luckily hit), and tried to get some distance between us. Unfortunately, his initial attack had the most of me.By the time he got up and fired again, I was incapped.

Get up from the incap, heal myself back up, try to get back into engagement range on another good LOS... the mark decides to warp straight to me again. Underhand missed, and his first shot was the last he needed to finish me.

Warpingis a very annoying "fix".

One day some friends and me where hunting on Lok,
trying to find Giant Kimos. Which we actually found
after searching for a good hour.

We move into position on the kimo and began firing.
Slowly it moved towards us - keeping our distance as
it moved in.

Then it happend - a pebble obstructed the path of the
Giant Kimo. Sony's pathfinding AI franticly tried to
find around the pebble -note:the Kimo could easyly
step over it - moving the Kimo left and right.

Apparently the onepebble lying in the endless plains
of sand was too much of a obstruction for the AI. And
warped the Kimo on top of us - bodies crushed left
and right between Kimo jaws.

Conclusion: Sweep clear the path to your Kimo to
insure it does not tremble or get obstructed.

Ryun Strider
