Thread: I am Confused.. Why the Rifleman calls for Pistoleer changes?
I still don't think a Rifleman will be able to kite you so effectively. While running at max range with 3 seconds per shot? Nahh. Its gonna take a really lucky one shot from strafeshot2 most likely. Which might take a good 12 seconds for you to even see.
And I do think the Rifle should be crappy at 5 m. And I think a Pistol should be crappy at 60m. Maybe that is where we disagree. I really do want their to be a distinct difference in the three main weapons other than "Rifle is slow and does high dmg, Pistol is fast and does lower damage". I don't want Pistols thought of as a fast rifle or Rifles as a slow pistol....Range is where the real difference needs to be. And I am not talking about minor penalties that give a pistol a small edge at close range anda rifle a small edge at long range.
Dunno i see Rifleman using armor just fine... maybe you should get some Night Sister Shards like we did for them ![]()
Lodinn, I'm not so sure that Riflemen are so gimped in PvP. My rifleman alt is pretty good, using /mindshot2. That's a pretty badass special.
I agree that it's stupid that rifle eats up so much HAM. They need to fix the HAM costs so you guys can wear helmets. Why not push for that as your #1 issue?
Draxx, well that's fine -- we just have different visions for how classes should be balanced. But I think we both respect each other's view.
Please make sure, though, then when you guys submit suggestions you have some sort of balance in mind. I don't think Aldeon should submit all 18 of those changes, for instance ... the combination of all of those is pretty crazy.
Figure out what you guys think balance is, and then come up with ideas around that. Maybe I think you guys shouldn't suck at short range and we shouldn't suck at long range and you disagree and want bigger differences, but at least both of us have a sense of the strengths and weaknesses that both classes should have.
OH let me add.. I think Rifleman should have more upfront damage based on the fact you use mind pool. Pistoleers can catch up with DPS towards the end of a fight in Rifleman have not put us down ..
At least thats what I think, They should be targeted like commandos. as it is now you have to be a good rifleman and in a group to be effective as my PVP buddies are. but they are not in the fight for a long time. SO i think there damage rightfully should be increased

I dont think the problem is really with your actual displayed mods on your weapons. I think the Accuracy bonuses on your styles are what cause you to be so accurate.
I cant remember where the post was but there was a post that showed Pistoleer Accuracy bonuses on styles being SUPER high, especially when using a BH / Pistoleer Hybrid.
This is something that the devs would need to look into, which is ALL that we are asking.
If this is being miscommunicated from Aldeon to the devs, then that is something that WE as the Rifleman community need to address with Aldeon.
Lodinn, I think you've hit the nail right on the head.
If you guys had a post with a bunch of numbers showing accuracy and said that you needed more accuracy or we needed less or whatever, and posted that along with some other reasonable changes (2.5 melee, HAM costs, whatever) then this wouldn't be an issue.
But Aldeon went about things the wrong way, especially with the whole range cap idea and with his long list with a bunch of crazy changes (100m+ range, etc).
That's a Rifleman issue for you guys to deal with, but I think it's a matter of coming up with a reasonable set of requests and presenting them to the Devs and to the community in the right way.

Personaly I think the .5 pistol speed will Balance out are damage.. our damage is Easily healed and we basicly are scratching at people..
Rifleman Simply need to hit more.. Weather you guys make that even better accuract at 60 meters or change the -90 mod to -40 short range.. however you guys want to do it.
But to assume you know enough about another class to call for it to be changed is ridiculous

I agree Draxx, I really think that if the devs came out and just told us where each class fits into the big picture in their minds it would greatly help balancing ideas from the community.
I dont wanna be a dev basher but I really dont know that THEY know what they want. That is only being said from what I have SEEN. What goes on in meetings and so on we arent privy to.
I mean, nerf KD to 30 seconds....... along with Posture Change.
Then un-nerf it to 5 but leave Delays and Posture Change at 30?
I really dont think they know what they envision at this point and that really hurts the community because we are ending up at each others throats, which we shouldnt be.
We are all in this together to make this work.

the 100m range was another Riflemans idea that list under the Vote Thread was compiled under another post.
It wasn't his idea at all just another riflemans
