Thread: If we do get a 3 second cap....

Yes, I do agree with riflemen getting some kind of speed cap. They already get more speed mods than carbineers, and rifles are supposed to be the slowest out of the 3 ranged weapons. And also, saying that somepeople beat is not such a bad thing. Are you guys so used to winning that you will say you will quit when you get some kind of disadvantage?

Wow, your join date really shines through with that paragraph right there. We have had the worst disadvantages imposed on any class for the longest duration party by design and partly by an inadvertant bug that hurt us many times more then it hurt any other class. This isn't the first straw placed and people can't stand up to it; this is the last straw for some people who have been here and survived a longer trial to attain master then you can probably comprehend.


So used to winning that we can't stand any sort of disadvantage indeed. I've been killed by bunnies that were 80 meters away. I've been pushed into the gullet of a kimogilla before I could take one shot. I've been forced to run around like a jackass while trying to snipe some creature because we had no way to keep them at bay. You want disadvantages? Ask any rifleman veteran here what we had to go through to level and then ask them why we shouldn't be forced back into a state of uselessness after just finally being brought into the sun. Especially when the drums of nerfdom are being beaten by a class that has as many broken skills as we have working ones.

No because it would still take us 3 seconds to shoot the critter/player again. And I garuntee the critter/player wil be back up and gnawing/shooting us within 3 seconds. That would be utterly useless.

Plus it would be a melee attack. Well we're a ranged class and are trying to shoot the thing that is 2 feet away from us with our 3 foot long gun. If something is that close to me I should die (which is a main reason why the melee def bug we have needs to get fixed) trying to shoot it. If I want to hit it with a stick I'll grab pikeman, if I want to blow it to kingdom come (including my leg) I'll pick up commando. I chose rifleman so I'll try and shoot it off me. If that doesn't work I can always drop a statue on it's head

Only if it was a combination of the TKM's /knockDown2 (dizzy/KD) and the Master Brawler 20m KD and it could be landed at least 80% of the time allowing us to put some distance between ourselves and our target.



Useless Knowledge:


The record for firing rate of a single manned, non stationary projectile weapon is a variant of the minigun. Or gatlin gun. It had 32 RIFLE barrels and is chain feed by 2 magazines worn like a back pack. I forget the exact number but its something crazy like 36,000 rounds per miniute. It was never mass produced because the barrels got so hot so quick the lead would start melting before it left the barrel.

We were. Remember /citywarn? Yep, the only professions to not get nerfed yet are a few of the crafting ones I believe. I don't think arch's have gotten the bat, maybe a few others but that's it.

That was Militia in general, but point taken. Oh and Crafters are getting screwed this publish. Stock up on weapons beforehand. Hmm. Guess that leaves Ranger as the only un-nerfed proffession.

yeah but ranger doesnt need a nerf it is already so broken. i was master so i do know. I am master know and i do agree that we may be a bit too powerfull, but a strait out 3 second cap wil ruin us. we should be compensaited with some sort of damage increase, something that gives us the abilty to single shot people, or at least hurt them so much that they really have to think before rushing us, knowing if we do get a second shot in then its all over for them.

OK, OK, OK, sry about flaming right off the bat there but it just makes me sooooo mad when rifleman one of the most uber professions out there start complaining that they might get a silly 3 second nerf when i have been playing pistoleer which is the most neglected profession out there, they did not even help us out with this next patch. What they called help was moving a pistol into novice pistoleer. Bahh!! Thas was crap. But pistol melle defense 2 does not work, and also almost all of our shots except for body shot 3 are random pools so we suck period, and even then bodyshot 3 is not good in pvp because it is weak. Also the skill we get in master pistoleer (forgot the name right now) does not work. The other attacks are so weak and hitrandom pools that they should be considered broken. But the big all mighty rifleman can shoot about as fast as us, with more damage. Sure u don't have dodge and all those defense's but really i thought rifleman should have been a sniper profession. Not rifleman as the gunner profession. Also take into consideration that rileman attack mind witch can only be buffed by foods that run out in 14 minutes and spice that come with a big downer. So not only are u shooting harder but just as fast but u are hitting a unhealable pool and one that cannot be buffed by medics. I apologize again but i was very mad at the rifleman complaining about a 3 second cap. I do think that if they get it they should be able to shoot from longer ranges to bring the sniper character into play and let them 2 hit kill people, but there shooting should not be 100% perfect either otherwise they would pick every player off in a pvp very fast that it would not be fair. Ok, i have said my share.

oh and 3 second cap would be horrible. We already have to buffed out of the ass to compete in pvp and even then BHs, TKAs and Commandos take you down half the time. 3 second cap would be insane. Imagine that, you fire, count ONE....TWO....THREE... then you get to fire again. By that time the BH or pistoleer has already fired three times with pistol weapon that approaches your weapons max damage (if your rifle is very good) and has more minimum damage.


UM........you think 3 seconds is bad? Try 10 for a measly 350 dm? Whos that you say, a commando. Gee im firing a 50 calibur pistol as fast as a semi automatic glock. Wow that sounds just so right. Lol, I love to see the rifleman who can take down any class in 10 seconds cry out for a nerf. What would you propose that every class has headshot3 and is granted a 1 speed 400-800 rifle. Oh look everyone is the same, dont matter what class or how many skill points, they put into it they should all fight the same? Guys your a sniper, heres what i propose. Rifleman can dissappear from radar and view at master mind you. They can then get in sniper position and take shots. Every shot they take has a 15% additive to be seen. So 15%,30%,45%,60% and so on till they are seen. This way there is tactics in the game. Could you imagine the ambushes that could be done? Commandos should be able to dissappear from radar and view for 30 seconds and make a sneak attack with their knife. It would hit mind pool and would do around 600 to 1000 after resists armour accounted for. Every class should have a unique ability. Rifleman should have their melee defense lowered, and their bonus to cover upped. There is no other way to balance. You cant have everyone have the same speed and same damage and hit the same pool. What are we storm troopers, we are not clones. Every class should fill a role, not be a uber pvp god who can run around slaying the masses. Thats why commandos grenades dont knockdown/dizzy/stun dito for their hw. Think about that, you get hit by a grenade and you stand, but you get hit by a punch and you fall down. This game is way out of balance, but balance does not mean all classes are equal in fighting. Otherwise who give a rats ass about sp. Lets just make everyone fighter class, all same abilities and weapons. See how that is not fun. Certain classes should be bettter in pvp. A commando for one, a bh, and a combat medic. These people invest the most time into a given class. If you want to pvp against these classes you should know that they are dangerous. How many of you laugh at commandos and bh's? Does that seem right to be laughing at Bobba Fett? Or the commandos who took on the imperial forces at hoth? Just food for thought guys. Remember this is the Star Wars Universe, not eq, or balanced pvp. Did a rifleman kill luke? Did any of you notice in Star Wars 1, when Darth Maul popped up, not a single one if the people shot at him and left that to the 2 other jedi. They knew they wouldnt stand a chance and left it to someone who could handle it. You didnt see carbineer or pistoleers running up to at-at and shooting them did you?

Why exactly do you need to be 'uber' ? And what makes 'not uber' equal to 'gimped' ?
