How can so many of you want to be Heavy Gunners, yet keep head shotting like crazy? Heavy Gunners are fine, but you don't headshot or sniper shot with an assault cannon (T-21.) Heavy Gunners are fine, we need a ranged class to do damage, then again...buffs and armor make Fan Shot and Cripple Shot...well, worthless.

If you're a sniper, however, just reduce the speed on head shots, it's harder to aim at the head, than legs or chest.

...of course, a speed balance would kill its FOTM status...

Hey, I'm all for Spilting Rifleman into two seperate Professions Gunner and Sniper(Carbine has BH to play with, Pistol has BH, Smuggler, and Commando if they chose to go that route). I don't think the Developers will do it, but it's something I'd like to see.

I mean I'm not a Rifleman, and think Stun damage has thrown everything out of whack (PvP lately? no one has...not like old times) And I agree we need a ranged class to do damage, but then armor is out of whack...it's that the devs also got every single weapon in the game wrong from what they did in the movies/stories.

With the new +/- 40% stun resist comp armor, jawa rifle is not my choice of weapon as a master rifleman... i truly think moving jawa certification to master would make the majority of the jawas out there disapear... And i do believe thatthe new stun pistol can have way more dam then jawa... (i heard it reaches 500 dam and add that with eye shot)... i think most people are still thinking when jawa first appeared, and yes back then it was a high dam weap in pvp since all ppl were in comp armor, and comp armor didn't have any stun resist but jawa has since lost its uberness... and is mostly used by ppl who have only certain trees in rifleman as its is faster and has a lower special cost.

I think armor and buffs threw PVP way outa wack, in the old days it was a common strategy for a rifleman not to wear Armor in PVP because of encumbrances and HAM costs. With these buffs Rifleman has no drawbacks and professions in general can spam Specials forever.

Personally I think there never should have been any mind buffs beyond Preformer Buffs and Spice. Oh and human Focus and Will Power should be set to the way it was back in the old days, 500 maximum points-lota l337 Templaters will have a stroke though Though then everyone would become a MonCal since you could push it's focus to 1600 with a Musician buffs, well whatever it's better then what we have curently................

Crop it down in photoshop, lower the quality of the gif, probably a few other tricks but those should do it.

Ivon. I mean YOU go get a pistol. And have it in your hands, and own it. Not just know a guy who has one. I'm proud that you know a grand total of 2 people, out of the thousands on your server, who has one of these guns.

It's just downright COMICAL that morons whine "nerf" about the Jawa rifle...when the ONLY reaso nthey are snivelling i nthe first place is because it threatens the "uberness" & is pretty much the only way around their TOTALLY BROKEN, CHEESY, GAME-RUINING COMPSITE ARMOR CRUTCH.

How about we remove this BS comp armor from the game like they should have months ago. THEN we won't hear a peep about our one so-so gun that is a slim hope of damaging whiners through their "couldn't be LESS SW appropriate" crap-posite armor.

Has anyone NOT in comp armor ever whined & whimpered abotu the Jawa rifle? Thought not. After al lthe bawl-babies got their pathetic way & CH was ruined, now, months later...we have a new, much lamer, much worse problem ANYWAY.

why not just remove some of the resists on composite? that would make other professions less upset, make stun less powerful, and well, help balance the game more.

The Jawa Ion Rifle really brings to light a mess of issues, crossing multiple professions. The PvP implications of the Jawa Ion Rifleleverage of Stun has brought to the surface the impact of having an uber-damage type in the game world. An unresistable damage type really must be implimented carefully, used very sparingly. Thequick response is "Nerf the Jawa!" yet really won't fix a thing. I believe the problems to break down to the following:

Theme: Jawa Ion Rifle

While a Jawa Ion Rifle nerf would not provide amagic fix to the perceived issues, I just don't see the Jawa Ion Rifle as something dealing Stun damage that just shreds animals/humanoids with ease. I primarily see the Jawa Ion Rifle as tearing droids to ribbons, as well as ripping through shield generators, while living creatures are left relatively untouched. Idealy, I see the Jawa Ion Rifle dealing Ion as the damage type. Out of the damage types available, it fits into Electicity better than Stun.

Armor Problem #1: Full Coverage

The protection ranges possible on fairly standard Composite Armor are overpowered. A single end-all of armor is just too powerful, unless there is extreme difficulty associated with the crafting of said armor, like R.I.S. armor. The standard available armor types need to be rehashed in a way that each armor type have its own particular protection specialties, and vulnerabilities in a way that a form of Ro-Sham-Bo is created in combat engagements.

Theoretical Example:

Chitin Armor: High Melee defenses, including a respectable Stun protection due to its lightweight nature. Vulnerabilities for typically Ranged damage categories.

Composite Armor: High Chemical/Environmental defenses, respectable Kinetic defense. Vulnerabilities against Blast/Stun. Primarily suited for Ranged damage defense.

Ubese Armor: Low-HAM mix between Melee and Ranged defenses, a little bit of everything, but not the greatest for anything.

Low Protection: <30%, Medium Protection: 60%, High Protection: >60%

Allow maximum capabilities to be breached through the usage of rare loot like Krayt parts.

Armor Problem #2: Stun Vulnerability

A single super damage category that cuts through everything is overpowered. Stun weakness for heavy armors is one thing, but there needs to be varying levels of Stun defense available in some form or another. Personally I'd like to see 90% Stun Defense common on the lightest armors like Padded, and still a respectable amount on Chitin, yet decrease as the armor increases in weight with vulnerability applied to Composite.

Armor Problem #3: Stun Layers

During field use of 36% Stun layered Composite I noticed no real benefit against Stun weaponry I encountered. Further experimentation with allies showed that the armor was providing 'maybe' a 5-10 damage reduction on average in comparison with armor without Stun layers. It's my current belief that something fishy is going on currently with Stun layers that renders them largely inneffective.
