Personally I wouldn't care if they removed both the jawa Ion and headshot from the game entirely. I rarely find either to be the best choice in most situations. Thanks for sticking up for us though, klaw. People seem to have gone insane lately.

You don't? What do you use instead, your telekinetic powers?

No, they're rare because the schematic drop is rare. Very rare. I've only seen it drop maybe 10 times, max, on either of the servers I'm on. And they can't be mass produced, since they require power cubes. Which are another reasonably rare loot drop (for the good ones). Combine that with krayt tissues to make a krayted one, and you have one of the rarest guns in the game.

LLJK, i seriously doubt yo that pistoleers dont know how to loot them based on that fact that your guildmate looted two. He was probably just really lucky. Maybe you should try going to loot one and see how long it takes. Im not saying anything against the jawa, but saying that the geo is easy to loot is pretty stupid.

Here's an idea I have that you may want to bring up or just ignore...either way. Since armor is somewhat self regulatory with encumberance (all the "l33t" armor we have no can't be worn without buffs after all) the higher the cost the less the layers and the more preferable the encumb slices are over resistance. So I don't see armor as being massively flawed, outside of comp being good for everything and stun being good against everything. Diversify which is what I"m sure they are planning out, but that's a bit of a tangent so let me go to my actual idea:

To help make encumberance more of a cost, and therefore make armor resistance more realistic, limit buffs to a race's maximum extent. This way you can specialize your HAM bars for your profession and counter this weakness when needed via buffs, or let you wear good armor and not be completely fine (current system) and not be completely dead (current armor without buffs). Of course in order to do this they will finally have to address Human subs being out of whack, and quite possibly increase all the race's norm by 250 or so.

That would also add to a RP perspective since people aren't able to go so far beyond their maximum mark. Plenty of people can be strong, smart, and have stamina or use "supplements" to increase one of these stats. So with buffs you aren't out of character!

I think the best way to deal with armor is add some effects of encumbrence. Instead of just HAM, make it make you slower, reduce your weapon speed, stuff that real armor does in reality.

In all fairness though, I dont think armor needs that big a reduction. It still needs to be good enough for people to use it. I dont understand, how come they cant just make the armor have stun defense. I think that would be simpler. Everyone can wear armor so if the armor has equall stun defense, then nobody would be crying about the jawa right? I dont think the ap1 would be an issue then either because other proffessions have ap1 weapons.

Well the thing is that pistols and carbines have pretty crappy weapons when you take away 80% of their 75% reduced damage. I'm sure this is an exaggeration but a pistoleer, somewhere in here, said that without specials attacking a guy "prepared for PvP" did 10 points of damage to his HAM. If you reduce the res on armor (which upping the encum cost either directly or relatively) it will help them a whole lot.

True, we may be able to kill in3 shots now but a pistoleer can kill in 5. So if we miss often enough it is a pretty good fight .(assuming we are both wearing full armor which riflemen shouldn't do) And funsocks don't bring up we're too accurate since that has to be broken. We have +10 when moving yet I really don't see a big dip in hits myself, that just ain't right.

So many pistoleers are whining because they claim that jawa rifles are to good, and are to lazy to go get a good geo pistol. yes i said lazy. people are whining about a profession being better than their own when they are not using their profession to its full potential.

increase the drop rate on geonosian pistol schematics and give carbineers a stun weapon and i dont think most people will whine so much on rifleman, unless they are lazy noobs...

i do agree that buffs/armor are WAY to good right now, reducing both to about 50% of what they are would be just fine in my book, once they have put these things into the game i think that pvp would be fairly balanced, besides a few things.. *cough* cm *cough*

How can so many of you want to be Heavy Gunners, yet keep head shotting like crazy? Heavy Gunners are fine, but you don't headshot or sniper shot with an assault cannon (T-21.) Heavy Gunners are fine, we need a ranged class to do damage, then again...buffs and armor make Fan Shot and Cripple Shot...well, worthless.

If you're a sniper, however, just reduce the speed on head shots, it's harder to aim at the head, than legs or chest.

...of course, a speed balance would kill its FOTM status...

Hey, I'm all for Spilting Rifleman into two seperate Professions Gunner and Sniper(Carbine has BH to play with, Pistol has BH, Smuggler, and Commando if they chose to go that route). I don't think the Developers will do it, but it's something I'd like to see.
