Thread: Be afraid Be VERY afraid...LOTS OF RIFLEMAM EQUAL WHAT???
So Nerf Demon, I should be able to use my specials forever?
And you wonder why a profession that is all about direct damage is at the top of system that makes everyone a tank?

That stuff no longer stacks... that is what I heard anyway. And even if it did the very notion that a master rifleman would have to have a second class (which btw mine is master swordsman) in order to get off a shot in a pvp duel is laughable. It's broken dudes. If you don't hit first and your opponent has knockdown and knows how to macro in dizzy, you are screwed.

Ranged/melee deffence DOES still stack, that's for certain, so does deffence to stun/dizzy/kd/ect...the only stuff that doesn't stack anymore is dodge/counterattack/block...
As much as I think rifle should still have the 2.5x melee penalty put back in, asking why snipers run around while shooting and get a nice defence is pretty **edit** stupid when they have the same range as pistols and carbines. Hell even TKAs can hit from 20m away, so a sniperusinghigh tech weaponsgets 40m range over a melee character, yep that makes SO much sense.
Give riflemen 100m range and 1 shot kills and they will be madly overpowered, however that is how a real "sniper" should fight. I bet you would be the first to whine when a sniper nails you from 100m in front of your group of buffed melee characters, then gets on his bike and races off.
Like someone has already said, doctor buffs are just as overpowered if not morethan riflemen are, it's just noone wants to lose their ability to spam specials all day long while wearing their nice suit of 90% composite.
Heh, I think I used that exact samethinking just now on a "Nerf the Rifleman" thread on the main forums.

I have been going up the Rifle tree since I started in July, and I have just started grinding out the last boxes this past month.
There was a friday feature I think a month ago that said that Rifle was chosen by most all players. I think that a lot of people get it in the begining because they think that logically they will it will put some distance inbetween them and the lair. I think that there are not a lot of masters because the begining levals are a very aqward period to gain xp. Once you get to where you can get the banthas an eopies down quickly your set. then you move to dant, endor, dath, lok or whatever to finish it off. I have not noticed a great deal of new rifleman on my server in fact its very very hard for me to get training. I have noticed a big jump in the number of swordsman and fencers. Any way if the people are getting rifle cuz there holo said so the will probalby drop it just as fast as they can to go on to the next profession.

could it be the gift holocrons balancing professions? I probably would still be trying to get master marksman AP if I did not receive it.

Here is the main problem, people have a misconception of what riflemen are. We aren't snipers, rifles are what most infantry carry, assult rifles. Troops in war don't run aroundthe battlefieldwith sidearms (pistoleer) or sub-machine guns like uzis (I think this is close to what carbines are supposed to be, correct me if I am wrong though) as their primary weapons.Their primary weapons are assult RIFLES.Don't get mewrong, the other professions needfixes very bad, each one should have a purpose, but thatswhat the combat fix said they were going to do.
