well its better than the di*k h*ads already lambasting this poor guy...

Umm where did this come from, I simply pointed out to TH why people we upset about theway heappointed the new Rifleman correspondent.

I'm sorry but I don't see whats wrong with asking why someone was appointed into the correspondent position when they post rarely on the profession forum. It's not an attack against the guy, it's just asking why, **edit** is so bad about that.

i don't think anyone was really lambasting him anyway. (and whomever is running around one starring his postsnowis a @#%ing child. ) fact is he may do an amazing job. he may scream till he's blue in the face. he may just collect information and pass it on... that doesn't really matter.

what i'm wondering about is *how* 'klaw' was chosen. how do you choose someone to represent your community without involving the community at all?

thanks TH. all it would have taken is one post even if the end result had been exactlythe same. too late now. oh well.

maybe when klaw gets FS he won't have time to test rifle and you can rectify it, if that is even a concern.

Simple question. What Rifleman problems an issues have been discussed?

I just read several MONTHS worth os forum postings and found nothing but complaints about a man few of you have ever even met. Why not concentrate on the issues and complain about him WHEN he fails (if indeed he does). I have managed to reach Master Rifleman on the gorath server along with Master Creature Handler. All I can say is yes there are balance issues. But if everything in life was perfectly balanced NOBODY would make it any further than anyone else. Let the man do his job and worry about the rifleman ssues.

Right now, I think that the community has very little to do with CHOOSING the correspondents. Any person that comes forward and volunteers as correspondent should be dedicated enough to their profession that they can handle the job. However, SOE has to choose someone they like and can get along with. This usually means someone that can communicate well with that profession'scommunity, does not accuse the Devs of anything without having sufficient proof, and can work well with all the other correspondents. Trying to fix a profession does not mean trying to get another one nerfed.

What the community does have an effect on is how they interact with their correspondent and judging his work. If the community relays all of their problems to the correspondent and he does nothing, then that's the correspondent's fault. However, if the community refuses to help themselves by telling the correspondent their problems, then it's the community's fault.

Also, in regards to the person questioning whether TH actually contacted the applicants, I can confirm that he did contact several of the people that they were looking at for correspondent positions. This does not mean that they contacted everyone.

IRT the Brawler situation. The Brawlers did not have a correspondent for a long period of time, if I can remember correctly. Therefore there was no correspondent to recommend a new person to take over. Also, I believe their boards were fairly quiet, as are mine right now. People just don't like talking about introductory professions as they're deliberately weak. So TH reached out to everyone and let everyone know that there was a gap and he wanted the community's opinion on selecting a new one. For Rifleman, this was not the case as it sounds like there were plenty of applicants and your community is fairly vocal on its own. Essentially, it was a totally different situation which called for different measures.

So I think what people are wondering is how was the decision made that klaw can communicate well with our community if he never communicated on these boards?

I'll give the guy a shot, but the whole process of selecting him seems fishy in my opinion.

I haven't been a rifleman that long and I'm still working towards being a master rifleman. I really don't know anyone here as a result.

That being said I have an easy question seeing as how no one here really knows you....

How long have you been a master rifleman and when did you start playing SWG??

Ok, so that's really 2 questions!!

First thing, no one said that TH was going to follow the "Quid" design for appointing Correspondents, you made that ASSUMPTION! And we all know where those get us...

I have gone back and read as many posts from VG and klaw as I could find...in this case more is not necessarily better...or worse.

If any of you have an issue with the process, take it up with TH in private. Do not flood this board with this mess, you have stated your point of view, so move on. It is hard enough to get good response to items on this board, if the Dev's think it has devolved to off topic bickering and backstabbing, then they will never pay it any attention.

Many people put in for the Correspondent position, some of them had many posts, some had very few (I know 2 people on Starsider who put in, one posts here regularly, one does not). That does not make either one more or less capable of handling the position.

If you truly think you are capable of handling the position, act like an adult and support the current correspondent, then when it is time for the new correspondent to be chosen, your maturity and grace on this issue are what will be remembered.

And please stop with the conspiracy theories...save for X Files reruns...

First off, I reviewed all of the correspondent letters I recieved and out of all the messages I recieved, klaw's was the most respectful, the most inciteful and the one that expressed the most concern for the Rifleman community.

I'm sure you meant "insightful." If not, you guys are braver than I thought..

Welcome, klawlegna. I for one know that a low post count doesn't mean you have a low "read count." I often refrain from posting myself just because anything I'd have to say has already been said a hundred times, but just because my post count is in the double-digits doesn't mean I don't read most of the stuff on the forums (well, most of the stuff I'm interested in, at least lol).

I look forward to seeing what you can do for our little community.

lol this thread cracks me up.

You guys FINALLY get a correspondent and half of you can't see past your selfish little noses to realize how much of a blessing this is.

No wonder your class is all screwed up.

No wonder you guys didn't get chosen for the coorespondent job. TH wants people who will work WITH him. He doesn't want people who are going to jump to consipiracy theories, accusations, and tantrums like you guys have.

I'm sure Thunderheart is sitting back in his chair right now thinking, "I defnitely made the right decision. I am SURE glad I didn't choose those guys!"

So not being worried that the guy they choose might have all the right buzzwords to fool TH and tries to get the job because he is on a power-trip (again, I have seen presidence on this) and ether drops it toot sweet when he finds out how hard it really is OR WORSE makes "his view" the only view the devs see. So if that does happen (I don't think it will, however) and we said nothing you're not going to accuse us of not speaking up and say it's our fault for not voicing concerns, we had it comming... riiiiight...
