the number one thing that rifleman need is to remove the x3 damage mod when using spraysticks. (better yet from all rifles, or drop the mod to match the sizes of the weapon, so spraystick no mod, e11, jawa ion rifle, bowcasterand sg82x2(same as carbine), and laser rifle, dlt20, tusken, and t21 x3(or whatever it is set at now). now for the other issues.


1. yes, or better yet get rifle range out to 80

3. it isnt just damage it is dps needs to be increased, we need to do our damage faster.


4. personally the dlt20 is fine, ifyou using it as a rifleman something else is very wrong with the system.

6. concealment, shouldmeanconceal, as a master scout and a rifleman i shouldnt be very hard to find.i should never have the second mob come running at me as soon as my first shot is away.

Honestly I actually expected people to do this in the "current issues thread" Wich mostly they did, except I did the counting myself. By watching what most people wanted. I didnt want to do a straight up vote, becuase people cant argue there positions as well, people dont say why they agree, they dont give situations when it happened. They just vote. Becuase, alot of thoughts can change when people start saying why it should happen, and why it shouldnt rather then just voting. Wich was the point of the current issues thread, for people to argue out current issues. I even asked people to sticky that thread. Only 2 or 3 people in this thread said why, the rest just put down numbers they agreed, and disagreed. If people argue about it, yes it may result in flames, but it gives people a better idea of wich side is right. This is only one person talking here, the rest bieng minions, id like to see others arguing there points.




1. There isnt much evidence to go with this. Even though it was the most voted issue, I wouldnt be able to report this. Becuase to be honest, If Im not moving, and my target isnt moving, I never miss from 40-64 meters. With either a DLT20a, Jawa Ion, Tuskan, or the E11. (Dont have any other weapons available.) But since it was the most voted for, I will go and test this. But I have nearly +100 accuracy and I usually dont miss at this range.I will test on this anyways, becuaseI miss maybe1 shot an encounter, and thats when Im moving and there moving, or there within 40 meters.


2. This was voted 2nd, although I have yet to see this anywhere in the current issues thread, or anywhere else.


3. Wow, we have the best damage, just not the best DPS here guys. If our damage is increased anymore....

5. I actually like this idea didnt get voted on to highly though.


8. Not voted on to highly, but I actually think it misses just about as much as any normal style. its just we dont like missing our deathblow.

10.Im glad people shot this one down, I would rather have Strafe Shot 2, a high damage AOE, then a High DMG single Target Head Shot wich we already have.

I noticed how most of these are additions, dont you think bugs should be worked out first?


Adding more things while there already is bugs is like, adding more wood on a termite infested building.

I agree with all of 'em. Being a novice rifleman I would also like the title changed from "novice sharpshooter" (which sounds stupid..and is not much better than apprentice) to be changed to 'novice rifleman' to better reflect our profession's name.

Just to let you know I agree with most of these suggestions but 11 can't be done. You can't attack from further than 64m becuase of the physics engine or the game system. Mabye making the pistols max range less would be a solution but they can't make a rifleman's range more than 64m.

Aldeon, i find your responce a bit disturbing. This thread was set up as a way for a great many ideas to be voted on. Riflemen (the people you are supposed to represent) came in, read the ideas, and voted for the ones they agreed with. You find this illigitamite? You dont feel the results are real? You feel these issues can be ignored because they werent discussed in YOUR thread?


Let me be frank, Aldeon. 30 people so far have come in, read those issues, and voted. Most of the issueshave gotten an apporval rating of 75% or higher. 75% is not something you just shrug your shoulders at. These are the issues that riflemen YOU are representing want added or changed.


I didnt like the way you have been"gathering" our opinions.Your idea of "gathering opinions" has been to create 1-2 large threads with no focus. They quickly degenerate into un-organized, un-focused, finger pointing, nerfcalling, and flaming.


If you would like to see how the other correspondents are addressing issues i suggest you visit the artisanforum or the doctorforum. In thoseforums the correspondentsadress EVERY SINGLE issue with a thread. They argue the pro's and con's and guide discussions along. Then they take the results and come up with a weekly top 5issues. This is followed by more discussions.


What do we have? Again,one huge thread dedicated to ranting, raving, and flaming. I would be happy to take the time and make a thread for each of these issues and guide the forum community along in discussing them. However, id expect to be named "Rifleman Correspondent" for doing so. Honestly, i dont want that job. I just want to be respresented fairly.

Crappy analogy aside, most of these ARE bug fixes. I (and apparently many others) consider the fact that pistoleers are as accurate as riflemen to be a bug. I consider the fact that conceal shot is living up to 10% of its potential to be a bug.


BTW: About the concealment changed to a pre-shot que. You said "I actually like this idea didnt get voted on to highly though". Aldeon... 23/30 is pretty **edit** high. Thats 76%. And if you tally in the fact that 2 people abstained due to not knowing enough about it.. it goes up to 82%. Maybe we took different math classes in high school.. but that seems like a pretty **edit** high majority to me.


Moving along.. I consider the fact that we get x3 melee damage and then+20 points into melee defence to be a bug (+20melee defence is piss and beans when your taking x3 damage, and 76% of the people agree with me). I consider the fact that the DLT20a (one of the most widely used rifles across the board, despite your prejudice) has AR:0 to be a bug. I consider the fact that block (which an ENTIRE BRANCH is devoted to) is completely usesless to be a bug. I consider the fact that the concealment skill increases (which ANOTHER branch is devote to) are vague as to what it does and if its really doing anything at all.


Finally, i consider the fact that an area of effect shot (no matter HOW much our correspondent personally likes it) given at master rifleman is a STUPID idea. If you stop for a minute and THINK youll see how stupid it really is. Headshot4 or Mindshot3 (or both) would be very powerful additions to our arsenals that would not only be welcome (as 70% of the voters can attest to) but also make SENSE.


I consider all these things to be bugs. Apparently, so do the 70-95% of the people who came on this thread and agreed. You can label these bugs whatever you want. Go ahead and call them "additions" if it makes you feel good. Whatever you do, though, DONT shrug your shoulders and ignore these issues. You represent US, and WE have shown what we consider to be important.


You said it yourself: "Im not here to report what I want, Im here to report what the rifleman class want, if a majority of the people want it I will report it. My opinions only factor in slightly."


I hope you continue to follow this path Aldeon. Even if it means giving up your beloved Strafe Shot 2 for something that makes a bit of sence. Im not saying take ALL the things that were voted here as gospel. Im saying to CONSIDER these issues and then bring them to us for debate (again, go to the artisan, doctor, or any other board if you wish to see how to do this).

I agree with 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9a and 9b and 11. The others I don't have an opinion on.


Extra on 7: Because my character runs at half the speed of everything in the game, I think our melee damage multiplier should be decreased a ton purely because I am unable to run away from creatures, even slow ones. Either that or have SOE fix my problem, which has been over a week in waiting and no response yet. So I'm going to ask for that for purely selfish reasons.

Oh, and Aldeon? Its very easy to see how accurate this poll was. I combed the board and my mind for NINE ideas that I KNEW would be great additions/fixes to the riflemen class. I then took 2 other ideas that i KNEW would NOT be good additions/fixes and put them on this thread as well.


I know which 2 they were. And I think you do as well.


They were number 3, and number 11. And guess what? Those 2 ideas got voted for the least. Furthermore, most of the votes they DID get were from people who "mass agreed" and not from the specific voters.


That alone should tell you thatthis isnt a thread for making rifleman "uber" or "l33t". These are votes by people who want the riflemen proffesion to ACT like a rifleman proffesion and for the glaring bugs and obvious half-ass attempts/ideas by SOE(block, conceal shot, +20 melee defence, and even Strafe Shot2) to be fixed.

Im not saying its wrong, id rather see it debated then voted on. These are mostly not bugs, these are alterings, wich lead to more bugs. A bug is when something doesnt work, making something work differently, is not fixing a bug. Solve the bugs first, before altering.

This thread is great, im not saying its wrong. Some of this stuff has been debated, and already sent in. Some of this stuff Ive never seen before. And a few were debated in your other thread and put up for a vote here. By all means continue the voting, I simply put up a seperate thread so that they can be debated, without ruining the vote.
