Any suggestions on a non-CH pet that can tank like this so we can use this flushing shot 2 tactic? Is this even possible, meaning with such a low creature level limit, can you get a pet that can do this? I briefly talked with a rifleman/ch last night about this and he said it would have to be a mount, probably a dewback.

Alternatively, I have enough XP to get Novice CH, if I can spare the skill credits, which I think I can. That allows you to get up to creature level 22, right?

this is an excelent topic.

i am wondering what exactly flushing shot doesin terms of damage. i have just moved into the riflemanbracket so everthing here is good advice.I use threaten shot mostly when in groups it does not do much damage but it keeps the target from attacking anyone.

I have not seen anyone say anything about FLURRYshot. is this ineffective? What about Startle shot?

Any ideas on what to do with all this meat and bones i collect?

one thing of note, being a long range specialist and a close range medic do not mix well. however, i have found out that most teams/hunting partiesare in need of medics. i have gained all the medic branches in 10 hours of play. i dont make my own stims and dont forage at all so being a medic costs me a lot of money.

Look at the stats of your meat, if OQ>900 then you can sell it for a very good price. Check Radiant - Trade forum to see, for instance, current bids for Naboonian avian meat (40 Credits per unit).

I master rifleman in 3 weeks. Here is what i did.

Buy a good laser Rifle, a crate of Brandy, and few crates of muon gold.

Go out to dantooine, group with my pet and go do savage quenker missions.

A savage quenker with pet group give about 3.9k exp. Each lair should give you about 40k of exp. By the end of the 3 weeks, i master rifleman and I earn around 500 k credit just from the mission.

Someone told me that spider in Endor are very good exp. too. Haven't try it. Gonna drop master smuggler soon and try it out.

BTW, I finish sniping accuracy first. If you do concealment first, you will miss alot with concealment shot.

Flushing shot 2 is x4 damage with a x2.6 to speed. That is if it hasn't changed since rifleman FAQ was written. Good because it is the first x4 damage shot you get plus it is AOE. Table with damage, time, and HAM multipliers is in rifleman FAQ.

Quenkers and savage quenkers are on Dant. I believe they are bugged because they give same xps no matter what level you are, everything else gives less the higher you get in combat class. That is what makes them so good to hunt. (Kreetles on Tat are same way to some degree but give out 61 xps min when it should be 1)

This might just be a "bug" bug in that all bugs give more xps then they should to higher levels.

I haven't used threaten shot in a long time ... as a rifleman you'll be using HS mostly untill you reach Flushing Shot 2.

I don't remember the damage multiplier, but it is an AOE attack and it hits random pool... It helps you level faster because you kill lots of things at once I think that's the main attraction..

Flurry shot or startle shot.... I think flurry puts dizzy on and startle makes the target raise one posture.. is that right?

I use Flurry on NPCs to make them dizzy, and NPCs like to change postures a lot... cause you know.. they're just stupid... so when they do they'll just start falling over.. cause not only are they stupid, now they're dizzy as well... So flurry shot will get you a stupid dizzy NPC who keeps falling down while you blast him w/ HS2 or 3 for massive amounts of damage. So it has it's uses... I don't remember if flushing shot 2 does any state affects.. I think it's a posture up as well.... the point of "posture up" shots is that when you make a target dizzy then you want to force him to stand up, so he'll fall over... but from my experiance NPCs just do that on their own... because... you know.. .they're stupid.

I don't PVP yet, so I can't tell you how effective this is in PVP scenarios.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong on the status effects... I might have them mixed up.... but you get the general idea.

MOve everything in to mind, and buff your other stats when you go out. You also need some Brandy , but if that's too expensive then Muon is your second option.. although you have to deal with the down time... theres food that lowers downtime, but I have not played with that yet.

But DEFINETLY move everything in to you rmind!!.. you'll need it.

When you say move everything into your mind do you mean everything all three stats under red and all three stats under green? And do other riflemen agree with this?

If you use /concealshot, always /aim (from ranged support)first and keep /maskscent up.

If you miss once, peace for a few seconds.

Make a macro with /aim /concealshot.

Concealshot takes forever, and is only good for the solo rifleman. If you are fighting with a pet, I think you will get agro from the pet attacking, so you are better off using hs2 or flushing2 (if you can handle agroing the whole lair).

Depends on your race, if you wear armor, what foods you have, will you be buffed, etc.

If you're a human with no armor and migrate your focus to 1100, all it takes is a brandy or 2 and you won't have to worry about your mind at all from shooting specials. Other races (I'm a trandoshan) may want to migrate some points into willpower/mind to compensate for losing mind from specials, unless you can get the full dancer/musician/brandy/vengarian(sp?)/etc boosts on a regular basis.

What you will have to worry about if you're not buffed is destroying your health and action becuase of the high cost of specials. I can use brandy and vengarian to buff my mind and do just fine with that, but without buffs it's about 8-10 shots with my t21 til i have to stim/rest to heal my health and action.

I'd suggest havingyour strength/quickness/focus as high as they can go, and just mess around with the others until you find what worksfor you.

I'm sittin at 0111 right now in rifles. I had heard of the method mentioned here with getting to flushing2 first and using a pet to attack the lair. Being a non-ch I'm not sure if a lvl 10 pet would last very long doing this. So i was considering getting headshot3 first since so far i've been sticking to dealing out mind dmg to drop mobs.

Anyone have any tips or comments about this? is it still possible/quicker for a non-ch to go with flushing2 first?

I didn't use pets to level up rifleman, and I was still able to use flushing shot 2 to do it. It did require buffs, a decent set of ubese, and a fast rifle, but my strategy was simple and worked most of the time with quenkers.

I'd get about 55-60 meters from the lair, and pretty much just spam flushing shot til the lair blew. The quenkers would initially charge me, but a couple would break off to heal the lair. There would be 1 or 2 quenkers at a time running between me and the lair, with 1 or 2 around me trying to hit me. By the time the lair blew there would usually be 3-4 dead, and the other 2 would be hurt enough that they were easy to finish off with my spraystick. With buffs and semi-decent kinetic armor the 1-2 quenkers hitting you shouldn't be a big issue. Took about 5 minutes per lair this way for me.
