Are Secondary defenses (Block/CounterAttack/Dodge) still working when the target is incapped?

yes they are, a melee defense stacker can take quite a few sniper shots, best tactic move up to them and use the DB command.

Aside form that my main problem with pvp is the insane damage modifier that melee gets on us, along with their accuracy modifier. And specifically this is in relation to jedi. Ranged professions die to them wayyyyy too fast, especially riflemen. Hell lately the only times that i died were when a jedi chased me down, and i think that something needs to be done about that.

Another thing is the fencer dizzy/kd. A fencer can knock us down and keep spamming dizzy attack for a lot of dmg, while not allowing us to get up. Although a rifle/doc can get out of this trap, it is something that should be looked at, perhaps making fencer dizzy a bit less effective in the application of the state so we have a chance to get up, and yes i know there is ithorian mist, and there are some other tricks to get out of getting knocked down, but overall this is something that should be addressed.

I have one question, has anyone been shooting in PvP and have a message pop up saying that you were delayed by your own wild shooting?

**edit** is that?

There shouldn't be any melee damage modifier. It was supposedly changed to a to hit modifier last year around Dec.

Is this occurring vs all melee or just vs Jedi? Also are you factoring in that all armor is vulnerable vs Lightsaber damage?

You've probably already thought about those but if this is happening I'm going to need all the specific information I can. Any screen shots/combat spam might be helpful too. If it's occurring it's probably a bug which the specifics will help narrow down.

Also has anyone else had this happen to them?

Are you sure it said "your" wild shooting? As opposed to a Smuggler's Wild Shot which would say you were delayed by his/her Wild Shooting?

Happens when you're up against someone using smuggler /panicshot on you (in my experience). It's just the message screwed up, showing your name instead of opponents. Don't think this is a rifleman issue.

Rifleman works very well in PvP. I have no issues with it as a rifleman. However, it is making PvP unbalanced with the dominance of mind attacks and the power of buffs.

I can become buffed through use of food, entertainers, and doctors to the point that I have no HAM cost for performing any action. So I love being a rifleman in PvP, the most powerful damage dealer with the ability to spam as much as the next guy.

The biggest problem rifleman has is that it is a working profession in a flawed combat system, one that the Devs have made clear will not be fixed for a long time. So we are forced to look for short term ideas while thinking about the long term solution.

The first step is to make doctor buffs % based, exactly the same % as entertainer buffs. This will make the mind pools closer to equal to the others. Without this, even if they made mind stimable mind would be the lowest pool and the most targeted because of this. The only short term solution I can see is making mind stimable, although I have always veiwed it as a tactical pool.

The biggest problem riflemen have is that if they don't fix the system it will likely be nerfed into oblivion.

I hear ya, I think it IS a bug, but I don't think it's related to rifleman specifically, and I think it's just a textual bug (the text shows your name instead of the smuggler using the shot).

Doctor buffs are too powerful. It allows people to wear the heaviest of armor with no HAM cost. The only damage type not 80%-90% blocked out ther is STUN.

Further, we can do Stun Damage to a (for all intents and purposes) unhealable pool.
As it was noted, that pool is also the smallest one when buffed.

We seem to take the roles of the other professions, and perform them better. We're as fast and effective in point-blank as pistoleers, we have AoE Stun and Dizzy as good as any Carbineer. We do more damage than Commandoes. With Master Marksman and a few skill tapes, we're able to deal out thousands of points of damage per second.

Our only weakness is low defenses. This can be easily compensated for though by taking pistol defenses or the defense lines of a melee profession.

There is more wrong with PvP than just the Jawa Ion Rifle. Buffs and armor are what have made us so great.

Oh and I don't think we can be snipers, even if that's how they want it. We can be PvE snipers, but there are about eleventy billion posts which discuss all the reasons why sniping in PvP would either not work at all, or just be too powerfull.

Possible solutions to PvP:

Nerf the doctor buffs. Put them in line with the dancer/musician buffs. 100% increase of normal stats.

The effects of a world with nerfed doc buffs:
1. This would mean that the composite armor suits with 890 encumbarance to health and action would actually put a noticeable drain on HAM when using specials.

2. In turn, players would wear either less armor or low-encumbarance armor.

3. Players that are less-armored are more susceptable to all damage types, and the prominance of Jawa's, Stun Batons, and Geo Blasters in PvP would be greatly diminished.

4. With lower regen rates, and lower over-all HAMs, and less protection from armor, Health and Action attacks can once again become viable.

5. Also, in PvE, you would see the death of Solo-groups, and of novices leveling up by fighting rancors. High end monsters like these would present the challenge they were intended to be, that players will run in fear from. So that saying "I soloed a Nightsister Elder today" would be a statement that would really mean somehting.

We have the only AP1 Stun weapon the game which is combined with a powerful mind pool hit. This is overpowered depending on how you look at the situation. If everyone had 50-60% base armor tops, then the Jawa would not be so overpowered. But 80-90% armor puts stun damage over all types of damage.

Our accuracy while moving needs to be changed so that we take a big accuracy drop while shooting and moving.

Block needs to be fixed so that it activates more often (same problem as CounterAttack)

Jawa Ion Rifle is ap0, not ap1.

Ok I'm a dork.. was thinking Berzerker.

Negative ghostrider. Jawa Ion has an armor pierceing of "light". That means AP1.
