Thread: Profession Revamp: High Master & Grand Master! Will Fix: 1) Jedi & Identical Character problems
Box 1: Better Burst run (like jedi or something like that)
Box 2: Meditate that heals BF
Box 3: Poison/disease resistance
Box 4: Very good state resistance

Giving Masters the ability to meditate away their BF would just make Teras Kasi far too self-efficient. We need to have -some- forced downtime, not just meditate everything away quickly ourselves and get back to killing things.
if it took an hour to get rid of 250 bf, then i agree with it. this is supposed to be a social game, and they need to force that somewhat. we can't have a bunch of self-sufficient professions running around, you should HAVE to go to someone else for your maintenance needs, like armor, weaponry, healing, etc.
meditating your BF away is a good idea, but it should be sloooww. far slower than an entertainer. that way, if you're stuck on dathomir in the middle of nowhere, and there are no entertainers closer than 20 minutes away, then yeah, meditating your own bf away could work, and be balanced.the BF should go away no faster than it would take to travel for 20 minutes, heal for 20 minutes, and travel back for 20 minutes, as an example. that is fair and balanced, if it took a 10-point skillbox above masterto aquire, and took a great dealof experience and time to get to that box.
it should be a grind-proof box as well. for instance you can't train for the box until you get X millions of xp and wait at least 2 months since you attained TKM. (its supposed to be super elite, not 'grind-it-in-a-weekend elite')

Jedi
Craft their own weapon
get free "armor"
can heal all states, all damage, bf and wounds
So
How would grand master tk be any different?

Did I mention IN combat?
Dont use this argument, its completely void..
We have to meditate another place, and Grand master would have a really high xp requirement, like tkm for 3 months + a hell of alot of xp and mabe some FS boxes..

Personally i think things are focused to much on jedi. That makes everyone wanna become one. The problem is when u have played the game a while, force is the only thing that will make your character better. Only thing to go for.
Possible Solution:
Make High Master and Grand Master Boxes above Master in the normal professions. Let the cost be high (High Master 10 million xp and Grand Master 100 million or higher). And put in some quests to get them. That way we normal folks have something to go for.
Not to be to superior to the normal masters, let the bonuses from these boxes be special. Maybe have 4 boxes and can only choose 1. Or something like that. And the power be for example TKA:
High Master
Box 1: Better Burst run (like jedi or something like that)
Box 2: Meditate that heals BF
Box 3: Poison/disease resistance
Box 4: Very good state resistance
Grand Master might be an improvement from high master. Fex: if u chose Box 2 (meditate) on high master, you have to choose box 2 (meditate) on grand master. Or it could be new boxes.
This will:
make people play the game longer
(More income for soe)
reduce the number of jedi
(since others have something to work for)
make more different characters
(since you can only have 1 high master and one grand master box from each profession)
What do you think about this? Might be hard to put in the game. But might fix alot also, and keep alot of players that are quitting.
Omg i had the same idea and was going to post it yesterday but got sidetracked
Ill be damned
Anyways if they i too think that it is rediculous that someone who has had the same prof since the dawn of time would be no better off than someone who got it last week. I think there should be levels to the grand master title with each level providing something that would give the profession a little more edge.
*10 levels to grand master each costing 30 mil xp and 600ap. - still think this might be too simple of a grind though
*I think each profession should have + damage modifiers just like TK - After using a weapon for so long you learn howto get the most damage out of your weapon
* Each box should provide a little Acc/Spd damage and defense
* Each box should cost 1+ skill points.- Not sure how many SP each should cost but i think if someone is a "Grand Master" at something it means they spent less time with other professions to focus on their chosen one and it should reflect in SP
In my opinion a Grand Master should have quite an advantage over a normal master but i think that the player should be able to gain a little over time instead of in just 2 boxes. I think this would kill the FOTM completely
( I Didnt take the time to read the postabove mine so im sorry if anything is redundant:smileytongue![]()

IM not Hijackign the post ok..
I mostly PVP and its come down to this.
If you don't have a high LvL Jedi on your team..and the opposing force does..well its going to be tough to win.
Example:
DREAD a PowerHouse Imperial Guild on Bloodfin has 30+ Dark Jedi.
They can go into any battle and completely dominate.
First they are extremly organized and again they have tons of Jedi in their guild...So how do you try to counter act this? Become Jedi.
Im not trying to Hijack this post.
But my point is that unless they balance this game out..and do something like create a "Grandmaster" or "Increase Skills" for each profession this game will be "Jedi Academy".
Now I will NEVER drop TerasKasi Master...but the future looks like i will HAVE to pick up Jedi to compliment my TKM..to beable to participate in PVP.
Again Great POST and GREAT ideas!
