I gave it a try but I still dont see it happen. I see the warmup and dont get any errors and also see the small icon under my HAM bar and even my white dot on radar is gone but I dont see my self change in a ghost or anything.. :S maybe its a graphic option?

Not as far as I know. I have not heard of anyone but you not going translucent to themselves. This will bear further investigation (you are looking at your self in third person right?)

Just wanted to add that before I dropped rifleman, I had the same problem as Dommel....everything worked but my character was not translucent...and I always play in 3rd person mode. it was the same way in TC (after it got fixed)....I've never went translucent.

Awesome FAQ.

I have played my MR for almost 3 months (Okt 2004 - Jan 2005), skip to WoW, and now I want to try the new CU. And JEEE, this is a new game. Is it really possible to get a MR, MasterPistoleer, MasterCarbine?? Is there a good skill calculator ??

can't quite get mr/mc/mp

you can do two masters and 4441(in any order you like of course) in the basic ranged professions

my build is MR/MC/Mmarksmen/0404 pistoleer

Dam.... That's almost the exact same build as mine(Respeced outta Commando, that's a lost cause):

Master Rifleman/Carbineer/Marksmen/ 3-4-0-4 Pistoleer

Thank you very much for this FAQ. As a new player, this thread has been invaluable to me (just hit Novice Rifleman this evening).

On a side note, under the weapons section, you have rifle weapons highlighted. The CL14 weapon Spraystick is a Rifle that requires Novice Rifleman.

Again, thanks a lot.

this may seem like a dumb question, but here it goes anyways:

what rifleman specials work with the other ranged professions? ie, does conceal shot work with a carbine equiped? flamethrower? etc?

Good question actually

All rifleman specials will work with non rifle ranged weapons.

So yes you can do a snipershot with a PlasmaFlamer, or startleshot with a pistol.

Oh I just remembered something when Assisting someone (ie: targeting a group member to attack their target).

Make sure your currently NOT dueling them. This especially bad when your using sniper shot....

I don't know if this happens with anyone else, but every time I log in, my 'ranged attack' is set to auto-attack.

BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU ARE A SOLO SNIPER!!!

The number of times I forget this happens, get in cover, do a conceal shot, only to have my cover break and the default ranged shot kick in is enough to make me mad (mostly at myself).

REMEMBER TO CHECK THIS BEFORE GOING UNDER COVER!!!

PS: Anyone know how to get this off always going to default on logging in?

EDIT: Ok, so I lied. But bedtime now, really...

I've been wondering the same thing. I can't get the auto attack special to turn off permanently. It always turns back on again at my next login. I'm guessing this is a bug?

Yeah bug. I always reset it to something I know and then turn if off from there. (I never use auto attack)

be aware it can set itself to something not on the toolbar (like prone or dance or craft) and this can lead to interesting combat bugs that are very frustrating.

The only time I use auto attack is when I want to keep a creature permanently knocked down with Startle Shot (after hitting it with an Underhand Shot). I'd gladly give up that capability though if I could get the auto attack to stay turned off. I haven't noticed the thing you mentioned with it resetting to another special, hehe. That would indeed be annoying if I started auto-dancing at the beginning of every fight.
