Somehow, this thread feels like a nerf call.


I agree with the majority here. Rifleman accuracy sucks even at master level. Block has never worked for me before. The only thing I enjoy now is the speed.


For the record, Commandos and BH still beats me in PvP. The flame from the former is really a killer at close range and the latter can win just by spamming eyeshots.




- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

Rifle is pvp power, but with power comes a price. The mind cost is an underestimated weakness, and the price for us to work around it is greater than for most other combat classes.


Preparation *time* is the cost. Most of us can't buypate at will off a chef's vendor - we have to hunt the meat or search out a hunter for it and make a custom order with a chef. And you need a few other foods too, top-quality.


Unlike most other classes, we can't use our goodmoves unless we seek out entertainers first, which is a lot more time consuming (and even expensive) than finding medical enhancements.


Yeah if you have heavily migrated stats you can fight, but in armor you still need food and drink, and even then you're only at 60% usefulness.


Also, mind poisons, diseases, and mindwounds from eyeshots and headshotsis a much more devasting thing for aus than for the pistoleer or meleer in general. Why do you think you see so many combat medics now tossing mind poisons ? To kill us. That's the real uber class of pvp. The master combat medic - fear him because he'll poison you and run off for a minute...


TKM's kill us in general if they get within 20m. That's almost a kind of rock-paper thing... they are the scissors that cut our paper. If we fail to avoid the knockdown it's usually bad. They've got a deadly mind-hit also, it's a level 4 tk move. very fast dmg. And picking up some part of the tk template doesn't put you on an even footing with master meleers either, it only helps up your chances of escape a bit.


I almost got killed once by a master heavy swordsman who *stood up from sitting 30m away* from my grouped partner and I, and *walked* towards us in attack mode. I fired and fired while standing and coulndt hit him, finally as my partner hit him with some i dont know couple of fancy pistol shots i started getting some shots in. He walked right up to me,knocked me down and started bashing away with the sword (I was dizzied for 15 or 20 seconds). The only reason I survived is because my partner healed me and distracted the swordsman. I burst as soon asI got up and barely made it out alive. I was fully buffed in armor.

i killed him at the farms cause a vrtek killed a rebel down there so we went and killed all the imperials down there...he was the only one....he is quite the romeo with words i must say, but he needs a wider vocabulary than fu<king **edit** im gonna kill you

The only reason I got pissed with Weasel was because 1) It was a faction farm which says all PvPers will be shot and killed 2) I had spoken to Weasel and we agreed to leave each other in peace 3) I was taking on 20 rebel NPC's when he came up and killed me, I didnt even know you were there.



Besides this isnt a nerf cry just a general shock at your stats.

Uhm, I do not get incapped in 3-4 hits from a TKM.


I have 90%+ Armor, SkillMods/ArmorSegments, I stock up on the mind foods/drinks, with a muon just in case, and I am a master doctor that I buff myself.


Only way to kill me is to Knock me down and hope I dont stand up. I've been KD'd before for 30 secs, only to stand up fire a couple times and incap a TKM that was doing dink damage to me.

Each piece has at least 15% to stun

Yes we did agree to peace earlier, but being a newb to the area i dont think you understand the specifics, its no PvP until a rebel gets killed by a imp and we come down and kill all the imperials. Also you need to watch your back and always insure. But never fear, we have come up with a solution to the PvP problem, give it a few more days and you will see what were talking about. Happy hunting

A warcry spammer would probably kill you, but it'd take a while. Warcry 1 and 2 are on separate timers so they can keep you delayed indefinitely, and if they have bioengineered +warcry items it won't fail very often.


Lowca had a big round of duels this week, a master rifle/doc/TKA beat everyone he fought except the warcry spammer.

Professions are made to have built in weaknesses and strengths. The rifleman's inherent weaknesses are def vs. status effects, and lack of a knockdown or reliable posture down attack. We do a lot of damage fast though at master. That's the tradeoff. I went up against a novice carbineer the other day and basically got pummelled. Once I was knocked down and dizzied, it was almost comical. Professions aren't supposed to be balanced. They never were, and they shouldn't ever be. If you can do it all, then what is the use of grouping. This isn't a singleplayer or soloist's game.


A group full of master rifleman would certainly fall to a well balanced group, especially if the **edit** handlers come into play. Our AOE attacks suck at best.



In summation: Play the dice-version of dungeons and dragons for a couple of weeks. I'll come off sounding like a nerd, but you quickly learn the importance of balancing strengths and weaknesses in a character -AND- balancing multiple characters in a party to form an effective group.
