Agreed, Sniper shot is great fun.

Before master we're a below average combat class, after master we are a very good combat class.

Let me introduce you to the gaggle of sipering twits that refuse to see the obvious right in front of their face. If you are fighting anyone with a clue with comparable level/gear. You are almost assured a loss in a straight up fight.

Do not believe what most of these people have said. Even after the incomming kncokdown changes:

BH will just jump to getting dizzy knockdown. 1 knockdown will then make you kiss the ground for 40 some seconds.

Pistoleers will just go into the smuggler line and get panic shot. Back to square one.

Carbineers will just knock you down the one knockdown they get, and since they have comparable damage to us(not AoE though) we will still lose since that will give them 2-3 free shots on us.

Unless they do some serious restructuring, the rifleman will be a second class ranged profession for a long time coming.

The real advantage to riflemen in PvP is AE damage. No other class, not even carbineers, have the same utility and damage output from AE as we do. Our primary disadvantage is DPS, and this is completely nullified if you are a master rifle/master marksman. While one on one we're still vulnerable to delay/KD style moves, we do -extremely- well in large fights if we're given a few seconds to show our stuff. Riflemen are the primary damage dealers; other classes might have advantages in the one-on-one arena, but when it comes to serious, group scale PvP, AE damage is extremely dominant.

As I see it, riflemen should be the ones that do most of the damage to most of the opponents. The single-target specialists (pistol, smuggler, BH) are there to keep the rifleman alive from melee pets and players, and to take down anyone that gets away from the main body of the enemy. Carbineers assist with added status effects and with a few posture changes to try and keep the main body of the enemy from breaking apart. This is more or less how my group function in PvP.

LOL Zarlok, maybe you should stop smoking the wacky tobaccy and get out and actually fight some.

*sigh*

Back to what I've been saying since day one when people started to whine. Rifleman aren't like other classes that can just spam the same attack, it takes thought and effort to be effective. Of course, what would I know, I probably only have a few thousand PVP kills with a rifle. I'm just a "sippering twit" that figured out how to overcome a classes limitations and excel.

Loth: How do you equip armor with a macro? I
thought you could only equip with a hotkey?

I got everything I ever need in busy combat
in hotkeys and I've become pretty good at
using them, but they're still too slow when
you get charged by a pack of some of the faster
animals.

Commands were taken from http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=17597

Put your armour in bar 4 top row slots 1 - 9 then make a macro and enter this text:
/ui action toolbarPane03;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/ui action toolbarSlot02;/ui action toolbarSlot03;/ui action toolbarSlot04;/ui action toolbarSlot05;/ui action toolbarSlot06;/ui action toolbarSlot07;/ui action toolbarSlot08;/ui action toolbarPane00

Drag the macro onto a hotbar and hit it. It's best to use it while naked / clothes only as if you equip the chest piece yourself and hit this macro it will UNequip the armour you are wearing. This may not work unless youare usingthe double row hotbar.

It's not really a hotkey, its an alias, that is sometimes bound to a hotkey.

/cg Equips my casual gear

/fg Equips my fighting gear

/ffg Equips fighting gear and eats a Muon Gold

Do a search for /ui action commands, it isn't that hard.

In essence its:

/ui action toolbarPane XX

/ui action toolbarSot XX

Using those commands its pretty easy to pull off. Here, I'll paste my CG one:

/ui action toolbarPane04; /ui action toolbarSlot04; /ui action toolbarSlot05; /ui action toolbarSlot06; /ui action toolbarSlot07; /ui action toolbarSlot16; /ui action toolbarPane05

Keep in mind, what you see as PANE 1 in game is PANE 0 in the pane array, so pane4 above is pane 5 in game. Just put your armor and clothing and a muon gold in button on a pane you don't use, and make the alias switch to that pane, push the right buttons, and switch back to your combat pane. Pretty simple.

"Our primary disadvantage is DPS, and this is completely nullified if you are a master rifle/master marksman."

How does the +5 speed and +10 accuracy you can get at master marksmannullify the bad DPS?

Tell me how you can beat knockdown or panic shot. I want an answer too. THERE IS NONE. There is no skill involved in this game. You kid yourself with your newbie killing exploits.

+5 speed after you have the +90 from being master rifle doubles your ROF (your delay goes from 0.1x to 0.05x). This is, to put it lightly, a massive improvement.

Sure there is a way to beat it. It's called LUCK! I don't win every fight against a BH or Pistoleer or XXXXX class, but I win my fair share to be sure. You've never had someone miss you in a fight? I'll admit that it is darn hard to take a BH or Pistoleer one on one, but I've done, and I'll continue to do it. But most PVP combat isn't one on one. If you find yourself in one on one combat alot you should start to ask yourself why!

In massive 25 v 25 battles or whatever, we absolutely kick ass. I can half an enemy force dizzy in no time. A few seconds later they all have UNHEALABLE bleeds, two of em to be exact. Ever noticed those defensive bonuses in Counter-Sniper? Those sure don't hurt.

You are just a whiner. You obviously won't give up until Rifleman are the best of the best. I don't think we are, and I don't think we should be. But played correctly, we sure can tear some bad guys up.

Ahh, luck... I rest my case. Shut up now, d00f. I don't want to win my battles by luck, so sorry you do.
