Rifleman Archive
Thread: To all rifleman who think we need help!
I don't really think Riflemen are gimped in any way, I just like to joke about the stuff that happened to me in my first days of playing. I used to get incapped by chubas when using my Tusken Rifle.
I do think, however, it's unfair that Rifles require so many identical tissues; especially the T21.
pretty funny.
im only 4/1/4/2, and i miss with sniper shot prolly 75% of the time.
maybe your idea of fighting is to land mind bleeds and burst run away from the fight? hmmm, i even miss those most of the time, or they dont stick. stun, dizzy, what good are the shots if the effects dont stick? and hth do ya miss with suppression fire? suppression fire isnt supposed to hit anything, its suppressing fire....
i lost a duel to a tka just last night. i missed every shot i took with my rifle, so i switched to pistol for a kd and MISSED.
Meskall - (hope i spelt that right) i completely agree.
i went the Master Rifleman, Master Marksman, doctor route as well. (**edit** i run slow up hills).
but PvP... it's evil. all stats migrated to mind, buffed out the wazoo, composite helmet and composite chest plate, marauder leggings. works like a charm - i RARELY see my health go down even a drop, 1 on 1, 1 on 3, 1 on 5..... the only thing that will kill me is eventually i run out of mind (but that's why i keep a muon gold on macro for big/long fights). i can fire a lot of specials though, even with the helmet/chest plate on and not on gold.
the only danger, pvp, is either A LOT of guys, or pets. like gurreks or gaping spiders, stuff like that. i've taken down grauls pvp before - i can kite them with the jawa, tha'ts no problem.high-ham fast stuff is annoying though (and in my mind, honorless, but what can ya do..).
a friend (master pistoleer, wookie) and i went to the imp outpost on Dantooine yesterday, hunting kungas. we decided to have some fun - i buffed us both, we both popped a muon gold, i put on my composite, and we went to town in the starport area (we're two rebels, covert). there was about 15 storm troopers in there, at least. by my count, i took down 11 storm troopers, Digs, my buddy, took down at least 6, i personally DB'd 4 overt imps, he got one (snipershot is a blessing) then we finally bought it. lol it was a good time.
perhaps the most rewarding part was during the fight, an imp bystandard says "now that's ballsy.." hehe, it was great.
the starport had NO yellow dots in it when we cloned.
THAT's "gimped"?? i'm thinkin no. ![]()
Keep in mind that Doctor+ Rifleman is approximinately the same amount of points as BH. If you cannot commit that many points than you deserve to be inferior. Not to mention you can compensate by getting friends to buff you.

You're kinda talking down to the rest of us here.
following Aerius' line of thought:
as master rifle/master marksman/doctor - i commited even more skill points to combat/defensethan a BH - and i "pwn" them like i should.
/wink

LoL I've been telling people this since the game came out and I'm called an ass for it while everyone else agrees now......

I'm a Master Ranger/Master Scout/Rifleman/Creature Handler. Eventually I must drop CH to get Master Rifleman.
That completely takes up all my points.
BH's pwn me.
I have committed all my points, do I still deserve to be inferior? Not everyone has friends that can buff or give free drugs.
Well there are clearly some choices that you make that define your play style... but I see rifleman here crying because they are not as good as a BH and no if you just master rifleman you should die to a BH... why? You have not spent all of your skill points... my choice was to go doctor...and CM (which I dont even use for combat at all as much as healing from ranged, waiting to see what mind heals do, but i disease punks and thats about it for damage from CM) - in a 1 on 1 situation clearly a rifleman/doc is going to be superior to a rifleman/ranger unless we are racing up a hill, or trying to find eachother from 400m.
I kill 90% of BH, the only thing that kills me is a combo of panic shot + eyesht spam or KD+eyeshot spam even then I win 40% of those duels i would say.
A Professions PvP ability is not based on novice, it is based off of Master. So all this nonsense about PvP sucking at Novice is not even worth the time it took to write the post.
If you can not Master a profession dont expect to get the same advantages as someone that does.
