Thread: Conceal Shot question

How good is it in PvE when the target ignores you , but everyone of his buddies jumps right on you ? Am I missing the purpose of this shot? Or is there a better tactic for this ?Or is it as useless as I think?
Conceal Shot will (in theory) be fixed with the next Big Patch(tm). The Dev responsible for Critter AI has said that the code is being changed to make it so where the friends of whatever critter you're shooting won't aggro on you unless the critter itself aggros on you.
And since critters don't aggro on you when you use Conceal Shot (except under a couple of circumstances), in theory Conceal Shot will begin working like you'd expect it to work after the upcoming Big Patch(tm).
Hi all. Fairly new to the rifleman profession. I picked it up as I am master rangerand have been using acarbine and it just didn't seem right that ahunter would be pumping a gazzilion shots into his prey. I'm liking it so far, have 1-0-0-1 at the moment. I've coming here seeking some enlightenment.
How does Conceal Shot work? I know I don't have it yet but was gonna grab it next and be 1-1-0-1. Is it like /aim in that it applies to your next shot? I've been using /aim before /mindshot2 to make sure my first bleed hits and its been working well and good, but I still draw a ton of aggry mobs. Can /concelshot be used before the /mindshot to stealth the bleed on? Or is it just a damage shot? Any pointers are more than welcomed.

*cough*
conceal shot allows you to peg away at a target indefinately without getting noticed (by the target or its friends). Once you miss though...its game over...you will draw the targets aggro and perhaps its friends...but if you don't miss....you can repeated conceal shot until it is dead.
Hi guys
Just became a holo rifleman. I'm thinking of getting concealshot. Ifi created a macro /conceal; /peace; loopign would i ever get detected, cause i'm struggling with the bigger mobs.
Chris
Use maskscent if you have it, if not.. belly crawl into position and shoot from maximum range.
The rules for /Concealshot are simple: You can fire unlimited /Concealshotsat a target, and it will not respond (other than to stir a bit each time it is hit) unless you miss twice or are detected by some other means. This means that you should be prone and at least 40m from the target for best results. Standing makes you easier to detect, and being within 40m makes you easier to detect. However, it is possilbe to use Concealshot while standingwithout being detected, but the closer you are to the target, the more likely it will be that they will detect you.
If you start shooting, and the target moves closer than 40m, you need to stop shooting and reposition. If you keep shooting, the chances of being detected increase.
One recent problem has come up that is affecting Concealshot. It appears that a lot of non-bleed attacks may now randomly start a small bleed from time to time. This is probably related to wounds caused by the weapon, not the specials themselves. This has been reported on several other forums as well as here, so it is not just Rifle specials. Normally, it would not bea problem. But it is happening to some people with Concealshot. Now as with all bleeds, the initial damage will still not cause the creature to respond, but when the bleed timer ticks off and the first bleed hits, the creature, like any other bleed, will then aggro on you. Thus, there may be times when you are using Concealshot, and you are doing everything right (prone out at optimum distance, have not missed, etc.), but the creature may aggro on you anyway. It is probably not because Concealshot did not work but because you achieved a bleed, and the bleed ticked off and caused the aggro.
that would be a secret of us GDK hunters.

I am novice rifleman with no boxes filled. I go prone and use mind shot to bleed kimos.
how do you not get eaten after the first bleed tick? jump on a pet or bike and run? doesn't that take a really long time?
