Thread: If we do get a 3 second cap....
Are you serious? Anyone who PvP's needs to be heavily buffed if they want to survive, it's nothing unique to rifleman.
On another topic, how they hack are you getting taken down so fast by commandos? Do you fight without armor or something? if you think a 3 second speed cap is bad, try dealing with not being able to even approach the speed cap because you have to wait 8-10 seconds between shots at master.
What I will do: If Rifles become a bad tool for my main profession (ranger), I will probably switch to a different tool
As noone can tell right now what really will happen, I just relax and hunt and won't bother with wasting major thoughts on what I might do in future

Back when everyone was made Combat Medic Correspondant for about 45 minutes, a couple of us got on the Correspondant forums and looked around. It was brought up there by TH, and is scheduled for Publish 8. Along with other "balances" to Riflemen.
BH and Commando's spend a helluvalot more skill points than a rifleman does. They SHOULD take you down more than half the time.
This statement is debatable. MASTER Bounty Hunters, yes, and aMaster Marksman/MasterRifleman will lose to one about 40% of the time. Assuming the MBH is smart and doesn't just spam Eyeshot. But you must remember, A bounty hunter Spends almost 76 Points on SCOUT alone. Let them use traps on me and maybe I'll consider your argument more valid. Thats 76 points going towards NON-Combat. Not to mention a BH does not SPECIALIZE in any weapon. The fact that they get better Pistol and Carbine Specials than a Master of those respective proffessions is pure short sightedness on the part of SOE. Factor in the Lightning cannon and Investigation trees, and we're looking at an almost equal point distribution to Combat. There is a reason people can stack Master Carbine or Pistol with the BH tree. It's because the COMBAT points spent are similar. And I'll agree, for a pure combat class, Commandos need a LOT of loving. But don't cry on Skill Points for BH.
And your reference to pistoleers must be a joke.. For starters Pistoleers don't even hit the speed cap so 3 shots to your one isn't accurate. Also DX2s and Republic's don't come anywhere near a t21 and have a third of the AP. Heck, they are about the same as a Jawa, but the jawa hits stun AND ap1. So you're going to complain about shooting slower than a pistoleer who does less damage, less AP and has less accuracy than a rifleman?
Dead on here. IMO, Pistol and Rifle speed mods should be reversed. Then we can avoid the silliness of a speed cap in anything. Oh and one more thing, I don't know about your server, but some Pistoleers on my server have some kick ass Krayt Geo Pistols. 400 Point Fan Shots through armor hurt

The only place i ever saw anything about a speed cap was in one of TH posts way back, 3-4 months ago, and if I remeber correctly he was stating that it was something they want to stay away from.
Krayt up a JIR and you can beat that easily. That is a high end Krayt Geo. Not everyone will be running around with one.

Any one heard of the Geonisan Sonic Pistol.... Oh yeah some dude just posted a screenshot of his. The stats are 500max damage at 1.8 speed damage is STUN...
Soagainst anything that has energy resistance Pistols can now do more damage and are just as fast as riflemenBEFORE this NERF.Smugglers just own with their Last Ditch and pistols are uber with their Stopping Shot witha GEO pistol. I usually was content with what the devs were doing until this... How did they miss this!!
Well if we get a speed cap we better get a Jawa Ion that does like 830 Max damage if not i'm moving on to pistoleer.
