How many of you will be changing to something else uber?

I just got to 4-4-3-4 on rifle today, and i'd hate to be gimped just when i make master.

So how many of ya'll would switch professions if we can only hit headshot3 ever three seconds?

That is only partly true. Against an armored and HA buffed opponent, Headhshot will usally take them down faster. It is alot easier to take down even a 1600 point mind pool with a targeted attack that concentrates damage on that pool than to spread your higher damage shot damage out over three pools, two of which are usually buffed in excess of 3K. Add to that the fact that it is usually easier to repair damage done to the HA pools than to mind, and Headshot isvery oftenthe better choice. On the other hand, if you encounter a player with low HA but high mind, the shots you mention will likely be better. It all depends on who you are facing.

Either way, it is not a matter or which shot is ubber but knowing your shots, you opponents, and your skills. There is no default attack which excludes any of the other high level shots. So you are right, that other shots should be cosidered, but your use of the term "better" is not quite accurate.

I agree that the term "better" may not be accurate, but also don't discount the importance of the state effects granted from using flushing and flurry shots. These can help lower your opponents defenses, making those headshots hit more often. So even if the damage from them can be stim'ed away, the effects can be very important, especially against a fully-armored, fully-buffed oponent.

what i normally do is stun them and by the time that happens.. if they are not significally **edit**ed in health i switch to headhost and screw them pretty fast.

the names Kennshin. and i deleted my wookiee character for respectable reasons.

VERY good post about how you should look at gaming

If rifleman get a 3 second cap I WILL quit SWG for good. Nerfing isn't suppose to TAKE skills away... its suppose to ADD skills to other classes to counteract riflemans skills. SOE is the only MMO i've seen were they TAKE AWAY skills instead of adding more productive skills. Its pathetic. Giving a rifleman a 3 second cap would essentially 1/3 our total damage dealt. It is a profession killer not a nerf. People are tired of getting owned by Jawa ions? How do we fix it, add a 3 second cap to rifleman or change the jawa ion so that it doesn't go through armor like butter? Hmmm... common sense says fix the jawa, but obviously the Devs don't play this game... so why should we?

If we get the 3 second cap, I will not drop rifleman. But I will drop Master Marksmen and with the Crafter nerf that will hit rifles pretty dam hard I will drop out of PVP.

Infact I may become a Master Rifleman/Musician/Entertainer and sing about the woes of the rifleman in the Coronet Cantina.

I didn't come here because it's "uber" - I came because heading to BH I discovered rifle combat is a blast!

I don't care if they cap the speed or not, and "nerfing" rifleman won't drive me away.

If I want to fiddle around with something else to break up the monotony, well, I have plenty of other characters for that.

Guess you could say I'm in for the long haul. =)

random pool attacks hit health mostly, thats why strafe2 is a good special to use if their health is low or their mind is uber buffed

oh and 3 second cap would be horrible. We already have to buffed out of the ass to compete in pvp and even then BHs, TKAs and Commandos take you down half the time. 3 second cap would be insane. Imagine that, you fire, count ONE....TWO....THREE... then you get to fire again. By that time the BH or pistoleer has already fired three times with pistol weapon that approaches your weapons max damage (if your rifle is very good) and has more minimum damage.
