Wow this has gone on long enough....a Master CH who uses his pets IS SOLOING! And if you say otherwise and you are a Pistoleer can i assume that when you use your PISTOL you to are NOT SOLOING. Creatures are our weapons. We used skillpoints to get them just like you used skillpoints to become whatever profession you choose.

If you call a Creature Handler who uses his pets somebody that is not soloing then you can call a Pistoleer who uses his pistol someone who is not soloing...

....a Carbiner who uses his carbine is not soloing

....a Brawler who uses vibro knucklers is not soloing

....a Rifleman who uses his rifle is not soloing

Get the picture. So saying somebody is not soloing who is using their pets is just as idiotic as saying the above statements. We were not given our pets skills by asking we worked for those skills just like anyone else works for there skills.

People who say that a Creature Handler who uses his pets is not soloing is just pathetic. If you think that is true than anyone in there profession who uses there weapon is NOT SOLOING ALSO!

And just to make clear again...

I am not against CH in any way shape or form. I already stated I bought my own pet after making master, and I use it constantly. And in fact I believe the only way to take down certain targets is by using pets. Certainly theKrayts fall in that category.

But for anything lesser, don't brag to me about how you "soloed" it with your Graul Mauler. I'll just listen, and smile, say "Cool!", and think to myself"So what? I took out full lairsof Mountain Dewbacks and Mountain Squill all by myself hundreds of times.".

OK. Flame away. I have a lunch to go to.

I could care less if you use pets or not, but it is 10x easier with a pet. And since I only get to play a couple of hours every other night or so, I'd rather get the xp faster with a pet instead of hunting the same boring target night after night.

On a side note, anytime I have fought a Krayt with my pets and some friends pets the sucker runs like mad and doesn't just stand there, not sure if this is because there are multiple pets attacking it or what, but it makes it much more "interesting" and dangerous. Most times I've been incapped and slain before the Krayt even warped to me.

Also when the Krayt is running around like mad it tends to pick up other agro's on my pets, like dragonets. Real pain in the butt. So if other people have no problem with Krayts running wild on them while using pets I'd like to hear how.

Also I've seen a lot of smugglers who hunt Krayts solo. They put a bleed on and feign death, even more risk free than using pets. The only thing they have to worry about is someone coming along to steal their kill, which is pretty frequent I imagine.

Actually, soloing them with 1 Mauler is VERY easy if your Master Rifleman.

Send pet, switch to Jawa Ion (they have ZERO resists to Stun), and spam Flurry2/Strafe2/Startle2 (which ever you use most, I forget which is the highest damage multiplier, but its on my quickbar).

On average they take 2.5-4k dmg per hit. Worst case, pop some Muon Gold..

I can drop one in under 30 seconds.

Not a bash on CH, but to Solo is to do it alone. And a creature, companion or weapon, is still a companion and negates the solo part of Soloing.

Pets? Haha!

Soloing a Krayt (no pets) is soo easy. Takes more time, but not too much more in my opinion. 5-10 minutes is about all it takes if you can just get one alone. In my experianece the Canyon Krayts like to hang out with Juvenile Kryats- now that's tough. But with the changes made to ConcealShot now....hmmm.

I am from PETK, "People for the Ethical Treatment of Krayts." And I am appalled by this discussion. Did you know that Krayt Dragons are on the Galactic Endangered Species List? This wanton killing of these majestic creatures must stop! These are sensitive and loving creatures.

Why just the other day, members of our organization went out to Tatooine to lay down in front of these wonderful animals in a move to shame you people into stopping these killings. I believe it would have succeeded, too, had the Krayt understood and not eaten them almost instantly.

Please protect the Krayts. There are many synthetic items now available that nearly duplicate the properties of real Krayt tissues. A FWG5 enhanced with these synthetic tissues has the speed of a T21 and the hitting power of a CEDF pistol, so the slaughter of the species is completely unnecessary.

STOP THE CARNAGE.

Soko, you and every CH claim that your pets are your weapons. Don't kid yourselves. Have you ever seen a creature attack my rifle while leaving me alone?

When you're ready to take on the risks of using weapons, you can call them weapons.

I don't care if its classified as "Soloing" or not... hunting over animals is the way all professional hunters do it.

Bird dogs, hog dogs, rabbit dogs, etc... take your pick.

The problem I have with the setup is that my goal is to be a Master Ranger, and you can't really excel at both Rifleman and CH if you are going that route... especially after the CH changes that are coming.

I think soloing is WAY over rated quite frankly. Hunting in a group is much better. Sure you have to share XP on each critter, but you can take down more critters faster, and harvest many more times the resources. If I get a meat order for 10K of Herb meat at 10per.. do you have any idea how long that would take to fill soloing on Tatooine? I recruit some buddies, pay them 5per, pay for their Starport tickets, and we go to Dathomir and knock it out in a couple of hours.

Beating your chest over "soloing" anything I think is a waste of time.

Don't need the pet anymore.. just use conceal shot, doesn't matter if they are beside each other anymore with the new mob AI changes.. i killed about 5 or 6 including 2 giant canyon krayts earlier.. a lair of one canyon krayt, and juvenile was close to a giant spawn, and I killed each of them rather quickly and easily with conceal shot... just take some food and spice with you.. with 1100/950/950 mind, muon gold, 2 ryshcate, and 2 tatooine sunburnI just breezed through them.. had to get up and move occasionally, that was the only downtime other than the 1 downerI went through. If you're a master there's essentially no danger, as with the new aiming mods you don't seem to miss... ever... with conceal shot. To be completely safe you can /aim /concealshot if you like.If they move in below45 meters get up and run back ~ fast ~ as they aggro when they hit about 35-40 meters even if you are prone (or at least that's how it seems).

bottom line should be that no single player and his pets should be able to take down one of (or groups of) the most powerful mobs in the game. i personally can't wait for the day when they improve mob AI.
