Well cal i posted about harvesting be posted up about 3-4 months ago with a good feed back from people. Then they give us driod that wasa slap in the face to rangers to make it so scouts can harvest more. Harvesting u should push it on the devs every chance u get. That is one thing thati even emailed all the devs about just to post that up in one hotfix there should be no major codding that they need to do to add that in to the game. Just the 35% to 75% at master ranger.

My thoughts on a working gcw/rank and fun factor in this game.......

If you feel the need to cry, cry constructively. I agree that we don't need to hear the "why are we so ignored" posts all the time. The devs are trying to hit all the professions, we just have to wait our turn. I honestly do not believe that the squeekier wheels are getting the grease here. They have a schedule and we have to wait. It's part of the game. Smugglers will be getting attention soon do to JTL not because they wine <And boy do they> but because smugglers smuggle primarily in space.

I hate to say this, but the DEVS have brought this type of treatment on themselves. Results are what matter and the way to get what you want in SWG has been protests, complaints and blatant flames against the devs. I'm sure we all have our favorite example of how this type of action has produced immediate results (Wookie Armor).

I believe the Ranger boards are the most constructive and creative of all the professions boards. If I were a DEV, I'd reward that type of response. Sadly, here we are a year later and no significant changes. That says to me, the only way to get things changed in SWG is posting threads like "Why do the Devs ignore us".

I'll never post one of those threads. I know they don't listen (If they did we'd at least have some fixes). I will however post constructive threads that Calc and the guys on the inside can try and push through. I'm hoping the changes will come soon. We can't hold out forever, and there are always other places to spend our monthly fees.

Until then, I’ll just keep mocking up screenshots and dreaming. petter.us/rettep/rangerplan.php

I agree with Calc on this one. Frankly I rather wait a year for changes then have our board resemble the BH or (shudder) the Jedi board. The BH board actually has Garvas rules and regulations STICKIED. That is a big yellow caution sign for me - you do not want to go there.

The only time I ever click on the flame posts is when I am in a grumpy mood and want to yell at someone lol. Ya, I know. Not helping.

Otherwise I just ignore them. I wish there was a button I could press to make them dissapear for my screen so there is more room for the interesting/informational posts.

Umm it has beena year. Game came out a year ago June 26th, and the last time we got any attention and was dropped without completing it or even a goodby, was Aug. Nearly a year from now.

/tickle

Semantics! I meant ANOTHER year! My God, has it really been almost a year since we got areatrack and camo? I hadn't realized those were in August... it all just blurs together!

I dunno, I have seen threads exactly like this (why do u hate us devs?) on almost every forum. Especially recently. You should see what the Entertainers are saying lol. No matter which forum I see them on they seem silly and childish.

HOWEVER I also have seen a depressing amount of attention given to professions that whine loudly. I considered this back around Christmas (I forget what whiners were getting attention then), but came to the conclusion that the people who were whining would never be satified. As soon as what they were whining about was fixed they would whine about something else. Whining had become such a habit for them that they had lost the ability to enjoy the game for what it was. No matter how much attention they received they would never regain this. I REALLY don't want to be that person. But that is off subject.

I agree that we are allowed to express our frustrations. I've done this quite a few times in my own rambling and incoherent fashion. But do you really think Why Do U Hate Us Devs? posts are the answer? Honestly.

To quote an old hand Mantison:

TH is a conduit... he brings info back and forth...

Guess what, if there is NO INFO then there isn't any Info.

you want him to make stuff up?

He is not the source, he is the guy that relays it...

Just because issues have not been addressed, it doesn't mean TH didn't do his job or "hates" you...

It means nothing has been done to report on.

2. "Rangers Liberation Army" (RLA) camp: use the forums as a tool to try and get the devs to speed up or at least schedule improvements, NOW. If it annoys the devs, that means it is working.

People are falling into different camps because of differences in character, experience and circumstance, and not because one of them is right and the other one wrong.

I believe that it is actually better for all of us if we use both approaches at the same time, in other words, to form both a "political" and a "military" arm. The political arm is already in being with Calc as the leader. The military arm needs to organize itself, and decide on the ends and means. I would do this if I wasn't so lazy .

I agree, negative threads are, well, negative, and aren't helping.

SO what IS helping?

I say we need more updates from the correspondantand a clear state of the profession, this way there can be no questions.

And also I have noticed that some Rangers are just a little too willing to be gettin the shaft.

It's one thing not to whine and *complain*, it's another to sit there and say, thank you devs may I have another...

IN the meantime, all of the great thoughts and ideas for the future should be consolodated, documented organized and ready for the dev's the day they come askin for our feedback.

Oh calc what exectly does a correspondant do? i know you communicate and stuff but do you get any extra bits and features? Ive never thought to ask

  • Well, I post stuff that pisses off the forum members.

  • I get a little bit of info(but not all) prior to you guys getting it.

  • I send many e-mails to the secret TH account. This is probably the most important thing.

  • I get to ask direct questions to TH and usually get an answer, but I get a lot of non-disclosable answers.

  • I get to visit the correspondent forum where TH posts a lot of stuff and the devs themselves post occasionally. They certainly do read it, even if they don't post.

  • I listen to the Ents talk about hotpants.

  • I try to keep y'all happy, but see my first comment.

Now, Calc, of course most of info is classified.

But, people, pay attention to what posts Calc starts and to accents in posts he makes. That may give some hints. Now I see a whole new meaningin "The Offensive Ranger" post. It might as well be devs seeking input while Calc presents it asjust a spontaneous curiosity

I have tried posting in the In Concept forums before, being positive and constructive. This last new one from TH I actually was a jerk. I posted "Ranger Revamp" about 5 times on the first page, once on the second page and then a paragraph of explanation on the second page. They all got deleted.

But yes, Ranger, keep up the work with posting our thoughts idea and concepts. But post them outside of Ranger as well.

I have been silent for almost a year. I will not stop "whining" now, I think I have earned the right to **edit**.

Therefore:

Devs, why have you ignored us?

By the way, there is no general discussion board now because they got tired of hearing everybody complain. After all that's the first forum anybody reads before deciding to buy SWG.

Ok, it seems that the comments are a bit polarized on this issue, which is natural:
