I have heard "this thread belongs in the Jedi forum" about 372 times while reading this thread.

Ummm ... no. Threads about mastering RANGER belong in the RANGER forum. End of story, no discussion, I'm right and everyone who disagrees=wrong. The game guides forum, thats about as useful as your high school guidance councilor(apologies to any HSGCs, but you know it's true). I bet all the Jedis would love it if their forum was clogged with guides on the other 33 professions, yeah that would be fair. I notice that alot of you sneer at the aspiring jedi because they are doing ranger because their holocron told them to and not because they "wanted to". Has it occurred to you that the Holo-rangers feel the same way about Jedi as you feel about Ranger? Self proclaimed "Elders" of this forum ... let me quote to you a little exchange from the 3-eyed fish episode of The Simpsons.

Reporter: In my day we respected our elders.

Bart Simpson: Yeah, well this is my day and we don't.

I'm not too happy about the forums being flooded with junk, but until they devise a " 'tard filter" or an "already been said/asked 300 times filter" thats the way things are going to be. To those who intelligent enough to point out that people should hate the holo grind and not the hologrinders, its nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't have his head so far up his ass it causes acid reflux.

To those who say the hologrinders are wrecking the economy, you're right and you're wrong, which is some trick. The true damage to the economy is not done by the grinded items, but by the loss of skilled craftsman who choose to follow the way of the Holo. It took me the better part of a week to find an armorsmith on Valcyn. The galaxy lost many of those who felt the same way about Tailor, Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Merchant, and so on as many of you here feel about Ranger. I know because I was one. I left tailoring over a month ago and I still get tells and emails asking for clothes and training. They are gone and their kind will not be seen again, this is the true damage to the economy.

I have yet to see a board as silly and snobby as this one. I'm working on a "How to Fling Poo at @sshats Tutorial" for the pet monkey I got forFederal Generic December Holiday this morning, I'll bring him by these boards in a week or so and see how well it worked.

Wow, I am amazed at some of the views expressed in this thread.A ranger is suppose to be a person who thrives on assisting others in need andliving in harmony with the environment and its inhabitants. Some of the "elder" rangers posting their views in this thread not only do not represent that vision, they are the antithesis of it. Your message is clear, "If you came here to master ranger because a holocron told you to,you are not one of us, please **edit** and get out." Astouding in a community where we eachpay $15/month,some of youfeelyou have a right to dictatethe content ofspeech or who can participate in thecommunity itself. You have failed democracy 101, not to mention reading comprehension when you agreed to the rules governing these forums. You sound more like a hate group than agroup of rangers.

We are allplaying a game, the same game. As long as we are playing it by the same rules, everyone belongs. If you have a fault with the design of the game, then take it up with SOE. To blame people desiring to be FS for having to master this profession or any profession is completelyunnecessary. A person has a quest to complete, they asked for your help in doing it. You refuse to help and tell them to"get lost"because they are doing it to become FS. Why? Because you don't agree with pursuing FS? Because you don't think mastering professions should be the way to become FS? Because you feel this person is ruining your profession? None of these reasons has anything to do with the person at hand. Every single one of them was decided by SOE alone.

What is the difference between a person who masters ranger because a holocron told them to and a person who just decided a ranger suits their desires? Nothing significant at all. Because one desires to move through it faster than the other, that person deserves your ire? Because one person probably won't stay as a ranger when the next holocron tells them to master something else? I didn't realize all of you rangers lost your ability to choose your future when you accepted master ranger. Where did it say I can be a jerk to others because I am a master ranger and I didn't do it because a holocron told me to? Where does it say that only non-holocron master rangers can post on this board? It doesn't.

I agree you don't do or say these things because you are jealous of the holocron seekers. You say or do these things because you are being mean-spirited and elitist. If your correspondent would post his/her real feelings, I bet your correspondent would tell the elite thinkers among you how truly wrong you are to say such discriminatory things. This forum and the ranger profession itself is for everyone. Those that are rangers because they choose to do it, those that are rangers because a holocron told them to do it, those that are hopeful rangers because they see something in the classtheywant to learn some day,and even those that mastered ranger because their dog told them to do it. They all belong here. No person here can tell anyone they don't belong. None of you made this game or the forums. SOE did. If you want to have your own little hate group, I suggest you go somewhere else todo it.On these boards, we are all equal.

It's a shame that inthis community some narrow minded people need to create justifications for why they are superior to others. The only thing you have guaranteed with such conduct is how truly inferior you are.

I am a master armorsmith and I would not hold a negativeview to any person striving to become an armorsmith for whatever reason, holocron or otherwise. Then again, I care more about the person behind the game, then the game itself. PerhapsSOE needs to add that lesson to the requirements of being a master ranger.

You should be proud of being a ranger. On that we agree. However, being a master ranger gives you zero right to look down your nose at others, regardless of the reason why or how they are getting master ranger. The only person bringing disrespect to master rangers is you, by your very words and actions.

The only belittling going on in this thread isagainst the holo-rangers.No holo-rangerhas talked down to rangers like you talk down to them. Your contempt for how others play the game emphasizes your closed-mindedness.Instead of rejoicing in others pursuits and accomplishments, you try to bring them down as though the manner in which they play the game is second rate to how you play the game. The irony is that the holo-grinders are happy that you are happy with being a master ranger.Rather ironic that youlack the empathy to feel the same about their pursuits. What does that say about you as a person? Not a whole lot.

I would be extremely shocked that your elitist, self-centered, weak-minded view is representative of all who proclaim themselves as master rangers. Rather, you are nothing but a loud-mouthed digital bully attempting to make themselves feel elite about your own accomplishment.I feel very sorry for you. If this is how you care about others who have done nothing to you, well you know the rest.

It's about respect folks It annoyess me that folks that have not been around here try to walk in here and lecture me and others. It is funny to see folks jump through hops in a poorly thought out add in and expect others to respect them in a profession which a majority of people here have been playing or planed to playsince launch or shortly after. I sell to a large amount of craftsman and in bulk sales of 100K units of high quality goods and have seen the impact. So before you came in here on your high horse expecting everyone to kiss your butt because a cubehas made your mind up on what direction you chose to take your character good luck and have fun but do not expect any one to miss you when you leave. The forums are a extenstion of the game and the class. With all the here's how to grind this profession and this profession sucks post the threads that actually matter to the profession are lost in the shuffle.

So take a step back and see what you are causing before you try to tell others about the class they chose to play. A honest question not a problem pulling a attitiude when someone tells you to follow a link to where we already posted on the subject is not need or cool. Yes we are annoyed as a class because key issues can be lost in the suffle as folks spam these boards with quick guides and moaning. Understand this is nothing personal not to anyones but when good ideas are buried and folks drop by to lecture it gets old quickly. If we did not care about the class would we bother to post or thoughts? If we were elistist would we spend hours help others out and training them? This was and is one of the best boards and when a vocal mionortiy come in and expect folks to answer to thier becon call some of us fight back. We are the ones that have to live with the mess people leave here after they move on to thier next class. We clean up thier mess and have to deal with the negative impact here and IG. Yes it is a game and it is fun but at first asking nicely does not work we have to fight for our home on this board.

Ok chiming in again. Ok by selling inferor products on the market you drive out the true craftsman that is just starting out. This is becuase you in most cases have already mastered at least on class and have credits to spare so you can under cut the market cost because you can take the hit on the profit. Saying it is not the grinders fault is like saying that you pressed the pretty red button but it was the bomb's fault folks were killed. As to where this belongs may goal in SWG was master ranger I have that title and I keep that title. Others goal is not master ranger but jedi so I think it would do the most good in that forum. If they sticked threards stateing How to Fast track X prof at the top and keep the guides there all the forums would be alittle neater.

As to all the name calling grow up folks we are proud to be rangers not someone chaseing a bone the devs tossed out to all the players. This may sound rude but before all this crap this was one of the friendlist forums about. The influx of people just wanting to get jedi have caused this change in the whole feel of the board. You do not care about this prof only how to master it so yes I will be just as happy to see you go. Call folks what you want we will be here long after you went a chasing your next devs doggy treat. I say this as one who gave yes gave away thier holo cubes. So folks step up to the plate take a swing at me because I have about zero respect for jedi and those that would belittle my chosen class and brethern.

The main thing as to why most of those rangers feel offended by this is the fact that they make ranger out to be something easy. Easy meaning that you can do, then throw it away when you are done and no matter what you say that hurts some of us who love our proffession and focus our gameplay on it. Sure it might be wrong but you have to expect something when you say such things.

There was a time in the galaxies before Holos when if I found myself in the room with two other Rangers it was a strange meeting. I was proud to be one of the few people that actually play this proffession. Now it seem that there are tons of people that are powering up ranger, just to drop and discard it as some kind of trash.

Personally while I liked it much better before when Rangers were a rare type of folk, I feel that you have every right to post this and others to heed and do what it says. Of course that doesn't mean that I don't feel hurt by it. And while I am not a master Ranger, I play just the same as any other ranger here, and one day I will become one, its been my goal since before this game started.

Also I would like to add that calling a group of people narrowminded is itself narrowminded.

Sorry, but it is narrowminded. Narrowminded means unable to grasp the entire situation and instead focusing on one part to the exclusion of others. SOE made the holocron system the way to get to Jedi. If it offends you that people have to master ranger to get to jedi status, then your anger should be directed at SOE. Blaming the people who follow the system toget to jediis narrowminded on your part. These people did exactly what all of you have done, they set out to master a profession. The reason why they are doing it is irrelevant.

Sorry, but if take offense at someone posting that such and such profession can be mastered quickly doing this or that, then you need to learn to be significantly less sensitive. I could post how to master armorsmith in about 2 days, should that offend all the armorsmiths like me that took a month or so to do it? It wouldn't bother me. It doesn't diminish my accomplishments. The accomplishment is not the tag Master Armorsmith or Master Ranger, the accomplishment is the fun I had along the way. One thing is for sure I had alot more fun doing it in 2 months than I would have had grinding it in 2 days.

I still believe all of you hardcore rangers are completely wrong for taking your anger out on the hologrinders. They are not doing anything wrong at all. To blame them for following the rules they didn't make up that all of you despise is very narrowminded on your part. I sure hope none of you ever decide to follow the force and have to grind other professions and be subjected to the attitude you exhibit here.

Its only a stereotype when its not true. Otherwise it is an apt description.
