Thread: Holo Master Ranger... In under 7 days...
"SOE made the holocron system the way to get to Jedi"
Actually the way they wanted people to get jedi was to learn and unlearn proffessions. The problem is people were happy with what they choose and were not switching, so in effect SOE dumbed it down. So instead of working, and i mean working in the fact of searching and exploring, the way to the jedi they dumbed it down and told people what to do. This game is full of choices, a lot of the old time rangers chose to become a ranger, the holo chasers had the choice mad for them, who in this is the real closed minded people? The ones that made their own decision on how to play, or the one that had their player build dictated to them and blindly followed?

(yes I am a Holo grinding Ranger, sorry that it upsets yall but im bored with crafting so i figured I would follow the Jedi path for awhile)

Its only a stereotype when its not true. Otherwise it is an apt description.
So are you saying all Rangers are narrowminded, I find it hard to belief that any group is completely narrowminded, thats what I was saying.

Sorry, but if take offense at someone posting that such and such profession can be mastered quickly doing this or that, then you need to learn to be significantly less sensitive. I could post how to master armorsmith in about 2 days, should that offend all the armorsmiths like me that took a month or so to do it? It wouldn't bother me. It doesn't diminish my accomplishments. The accomplishment is not the tag Master Armorsmith or Master Ranger, the accomplishment is the fun I had along the way. One thing is for sure I had alot more fun doing it in 2 months than I would have had grinding it in 2 days.
I still believe all of you hardcore rangers are completely wrong for taking your anger out on the hologrinders. They are not doing anything wrong at all. To blame them for following the rules they didn't make up that all of you despise is very narrowminded on your part. I sure hope none of you ever decide to follow the force and have to grind other professions and be subjected to the attitude you exhibit here.
What I am saying is this, to anyone it is going to have an impact, I never said it was right, just more basicly explaining why it was like this. I completely agree that it is the journey that counts, and once reaching Master Ranger(or your skill goal)and they did it to be rangers will actually be the rangers. What I am saying is that itsfine with me for those people attempting to go through there because of their holo, for one I know that I myself am doing it(though not very fast as I hate grinding).
I think that the main this is, that those of us who are really rangers are the ones who enjoy doing those things our profession is all about, and it matters not how hard our profession is, but how we enjoy playing it.
Exactly. You and I could not agree more. The important goal about the game that everyone should have is to have fun. Nothing more really matters. And since we share a common goal to have fun, there is no need to be judgmental about anyone. I would help anyone trying to accomplish whatever skills I have completed, regardless as to why they want to accomplish it.
Am I proud of what I have accomplished in this game? Absolutely. Everyone should be proud of what they have accomplished. However, my accomplishments or why I did them are notreasons to judge, ridicule, or discriminate against others. It just shocks me that people can have such harsh feelings about "how" people play a game, especially when they are playing the game as it was written. I can not fathom how upset some of the people would be if this were real life and not a game.

I think everyone needs to take it easy on the holocron "insert prof here". They aren't trying to take away from the ranger profession, in fact they are probably doing it a service, and the same goes for every other profession in the game and if you think they take away from ranger by saying it can be mastered in 3-7 days, consider that ID takes 2-3 hours if done right, and you never have to leave the trainers side. By posting the information they prevent the holo grinders from bothering the career players in the game with never ending "what's the easiest way to do this?" tells. So I say horray to the holo posters.
I think that many of you are also taking things a little to personally. This is not something that is unique to the ranger forum, it is occurring on every forum, not just this one. I think you would be better served to start your own "this is how to holo master ranger" post and have it stickied, so that it prevents a lot of other posts, which eventually get buried causing more posts to pop up about the same things.
The last thing I would like to say is that someone mentioned how they took their time and mastered ranger because they wanted to be a ranger, but consider the time it would take to do the same thing with Jedi under the current system, mastering 5-32 professions at your leasure to become what you really want to. In the mean time you are taking the time to do professions you have no particular interest in. Its like saying we know you want to be a ranger, but first you must master pikeman, dancer, tailor, chef, ..... So try not to say that another persons goal is lesser because they are REQUIRED to do yours first,
I know that across ALL the boards I will be hated for thoughts like this, but I stand by them.
