Why don't we ask if their future plans for Ranger are along the lines of an outdoorsman or more of a combat profession?
ooh, i like that too... if they actually answered it, we'd know in what direction to speculate about our future abilities...
Exactly my point. Why should we worry about Outdoorsman issues if they plan on making us more of a combat profession. It would be a waste of a question. I think it's best to find out where we are going before we shape what we want to be when we get there.
To me, the Outdoorsman is a way of making us a combat profession already. It was put together in its current form because the Devs stated we were to be creature only. It was meant to show them that we didn't have to be creature only to fit in the game world. With the current GCW focus and statements saying that the Devs have liked the ideas we came up with, I think it is fairly likely that we can assume that the profession is no longer creature only. I do believe we will still keep a wilderness like rolebut shifted to work well on any target in the wilderness. And asking about PvP stealth would also tell us a bit more about this. If they are willing to try togive us stealth similar to what Fred has suggested (which was an extension of what appeared in the Outdoorsman but fleshed out and more useful) then I am willing to bet that a combat related version of the outdoorsman is in store for us. If they are completely against something like PvP stealth then one has to wonder what sort of combat abilities we will get. I think a more specific question is less likely to be blown off. But that is just my opinion.

How we word it is up for debate, but my vote is for one ofthree items:
Camps: Thunderheart has said repeatedly they will be doing something to make camps useful, as currently they are NOT. What, specifically are the plans to make camps worth the skill points invested?
Traps: What are the plans to have traps work on NPC's and players and player pets to give us a more active role in the GCW?
Harvesting: What are your specific plans regarding our request for an increase in harvesting for Rangers over that of Scout and when can we expect it now that you've pushed back the Smuggler to Publish 11 thereby pushing the rest of everyone else you don't deem "iconic" back into oblivion? Sorry runon question spiced with editorial content.
Carry on......

I know that a smuggler revamp is imminent but can't weget a similar comment in regards to the Outdoorsman Proposal?
A lot of hard work has gone into, and is still going into, definingthe community concept of Ranger.
Do you think we could get a hint of the dev's vision?
Woohoo - I can edit ![]()

I'll go for the Harvesting Increase.
Either worded very tightly or multiple choice (if you think TH will go for that) ![]()

TH, it would sure be nice if you would make this kind of effort for the Rangers. This is exactly what we need. You simply told us that we need to give you ideas on how to improve things, even though we had already given you a very detailed outdoorsman proposal. Why don't you work with us like you are with Smugglers? Give us an outline and feedback on what direction we all want Rangers to go like this. Communication has to work both ways and I commend you for making the effort to talk with Smugglers. So how about doing that with the rest of us?

This just makes me mad. All we get is give us some ideas and he runs out of here, all the while ignoring all our work on the outdoorsman proposal. For smugglers, he goes out of his way to come up with a list of ideas and ACTIVELY works with them to fine tune it. So, not only do they have an idea of when they will get fixed, TH is actually working with them to make it happen. For those of you who believe things aren't lop-sided between the professions, I hope this is a wake up call.
To be fair the Smugglers have been given anETA for their revamp.
