Hmm.. i just realised that rangers will be rather feared in PVP if they can go stealthy... and ambush the target...
Not if the other side has a ranger with them..
Stealing... (http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Ranger%20Enhancements)
Who will rangers be able to steal from?
When will a ranger be able to steal?
What can the ranger steal?
Can stealing be macro'ed (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Developers&message.id=70356#M70356)
Once an attempt has been made on every bag, that enemy can't be stolen from any more. That way, stealing is just an additional little thing you can to try and get some extra rewards for facing enemies. You won't always get something amazing, but over time it could be fairly rewarding (of course you are also spending more time not killing enemies than you are killing them, so there is some additional tradeoff aside from having to spend skill points to get the ability)"

Ok Kimi, ive madea note about TN. You think that will be ok?
Over in Development it was posted by a Dev that TN in the exploration line of Scout will not change.

can rangers steal from other players inventrories?
At this time no.
When it goes live it will be a PVE only ability. They will have the PVP aspect coded but not enabled. They are from what I understand going to add in perhaps GCW items that can be stolen in the future, perhaps in the mythical GCW update.

Ok guys, starting today im going to compile the questions and answers we have on the ranger revamp into one place. Hopefully this will cut down on the questions that will get repeated and allow us to know where we currently stand.
Changes to Current Professions:
Scout
- Question: What is Scout loosing?
- Answer: At this time it seems Terrain Negotiation. The devs stated that Terrain Negotiation would be distributed throughout Ranger suggesting that all other parties involved could see this being removed, most notably, Scout. This is not confirmed ofcourse but just initial impressions. Apart from TN, nothing else it seems and gaining the offcastsfrom Ranger. Camps, Traps, Mask Scent and Harvesting Mods are all accounted for.
Exploration line is keeping the same amount of Terrain Negotiation.
Question: What will Scout be gaining?
- Answer: Scout will be gainingpossibly Ranger camps, the Sonic Pulse and Flash Bomb traps, possibly the trapping mods and the havesting mods contained within Ranger will be distributed throughout Scout. Structure of these changes remains unknown at this time.
All existing creature traps, creature knowledge, harvesting, and camps from the current Ranger implementation are moving to Scount
Ranger
- Question: Whereare our currenttraps going?
- Answer: Our current traps are being moved to scout trapping. It is not yet known if the mods will go down too as trapping mod will still be probly needed in ranger to some degree. We will have to wait and see on this point.
They are all currently being moved to scout.
- Question: Where is camo going?
- Answer: Nowhere at this time. It may see changes but it has been refered to as 'Wilderness Stealth' now.
Correct, mask scent is staying in Scout, but camouflage has been replaced with Wilderness Stealth (including new rules for this skill)
- Question: Where is camping going?
- Answer: Camping seems to have left us as there has been no notable points in the revamp doc plus the tiers dont seem to support it. Where are camps will go remains a mystery, but possibly if the devs do decide to move camps they will go to SL (rally points, group support etc) or Scout.
Camps are being moved to scout.
- Question: Where is areatrack going?
- Answer: Areatrack is leaving at this time, the devs feel it doesnt provide a good enough experience. They did say that if done correctly it could make a return in some form. Hopefully we can get them to add in a well thought out tracking package before the revamp hits.
Right now, it doesn't look like tracking is going to be in the initial revamp publish. I can't comment beyond that.
- Question: Where is forage going?
- Answer: Our beloved forage is leaving us im afraid. This point also leads onto another question, how will people get base bait? Perhaps forage will be added back into scout somewhere, at this time we just dont know.
Fishing bugs can now be found by searching lairs. Foraging, as a skill, is going away.
Scout/Ranger Skill Changes
- Question: Will /burstrun mod be made useless, at the moment it seems very underpowered?
- Answers: At this time it will remain the same according to the devsbut the revamp document states: "Burst Run Efficiency: This existing skill modifier gives the ranger a much needed boost of speed if they are uncovered at an inopportune time".
We're looking into how burst run works, but I can't comment beyond that.
Template Interaction:
Skill Points
- Question: What are the pre-reqs for Ranger?
- Answer:Unconfirmed at this time however Exploration 4 and Trapping 4 seem about spot on.
We're still deciding.
Background:
Role
Abilities
Camo & Stealth
- Question: Will our counter-camo skills be able to detect Jedi and Rifleman under concealment and cloak?
- Answer: Jedi Force Cloak is a mind trick so we cannot detect that, however jedi cannot mind trick machines and therefore our motion detectors can detect them. Riflemen are not personal concealment experts so they will be open to exposure from tracking Rangers.
Currently, that is correct.
Seriously, thanks for answering.

Good solution to have bugs returned after searching a lair.
Burstrun efficiency works like this: It reduces the HAM used to burstrun.
There ya go.
and for the time explaining and clarification.

Sorry for a minor push here...
