This entire board had become a "yes" board for the developers.

I recommend you have a look at all the threads from around the droid harvesting info time. If we are very unhappy about something you end up with plenty of noise. That you don't see much noise around here now is a sign that nothing needs to be changed immediately. Yes, things are far from perfect. But the majority seems to be happy enough with the way things currently stand. We have a lot of problems but I know that I am willing to wait on them. I can enjoy playing this game as a Ranger in the professions current form. I can wait on the rest of the changes. And I do believe they will come soon enough to keep me happy.

This profession is dying. The numbers are dwindling and no positive changes to date are the proof. Drak and many others would like to silence those of us that verbally object to the status of Rangers but what has his optimism, endless lists of proposed changes and the cross server Antarian guild achieved. NOTHING! That's right. NOTHING! I love the Star Wars universe and with any other product market I am a fervent SONY supporter. I merely take exception to this one. I am gravely disappointed. Continuually the devs see fit to add to the game instead of fixing what is broken. I continueally read posts that says don't complain, just be patient and list productive things like new ideas. This attitude has amounted to NOTHING! They don't listen because the majority of this community does not want to be heard. State of the Ranger profession...There isn't one.

Enough, Serraphin. Please. I find nothing redeeming in your perpetual gibes re: Rangering. I realize that you have ideas and are a rabid promoter of Ranger fixes. Not to say that I'm totally content with the way things are, it's just that all these negative one-liners aren't helping. No disrespect meant.

No it isn't apathy. Apathy is when you are completely indifferent about something (i.e uninterested or concerned).

There are plenty of documents and things going on these boards that completely show that your wrong on this. If we were apathetic why would have the community put together the outdoorsman or why would have be doing the million monkeys proposal? There are plenty of rangers who are regular posters onThunderhearts weekly discussions thread and Calc pushes all he can on the correspondent forum. Please stop undermining everything these people have done when trying to put your point across its actually quite rude.

I know you want something done, as do we all, and we have an opportunity to get stuff done in the mini publishes and the Combat balence. Aiming for less than a complete revamp isn't being apathetic - its being realistic. Concentrate on getting stuff done when we know there is a window of opportunity and something might actually happen.

Call it what you will we can agree to disagree. But I will offer that the Outdoorsman proposal is dead. Million Monkeys--dead. And even though I am sure Calculus is a hard working Correspondant he serves only as a wall, no a shield between the community and the devs. I further offer that the state of the profession is the following:

Mask Scent--broken/bugged

Camo--broken/bugged

Camping--broken/bugged, some say useless "eyecandy"

Foraging--Useless except for fish bait

Areatrack--broken/bugged

Creature harvesting-- A droids work now

Trapping--broken/bugged

Terrain --Well I guess one thing works

That is the state of the profession, it has been nearly one year. The correspondant of this profession and the other profession in need of serious work can do nothing to assist. Disagree, well look above. This community and the other communities need to band together as a unit with the following message:

Cease all development of new content until the problems are addressed. Professions requiring a revamp or rebalance need to be fixed, or their community provided a clear plan and timeline, or the profession needs to be removed until it is fixed and then reinserted.

Hmm..That was more than one line.

Respectfully,

Serraphin

The bugs are well know and clearly reproduceable. Feigning ignorance in this matter is not constructive.

I have been playing since launch day and there have been fixes and improvements. And these came from constructive post, not a belittling an entire profession on the discontent of one person.

What improvements. Scouts are useful, have a purpose and with a droid can out harvest us. What purpose do we serve? None. We all cling to a broken profession. I want it fixed or deleted so I can move on. I don't want to bask in the Ranger Martyrdom content to never be corrected. Rangers should be wilderness warriors with a purpose and should contribute to the GCW not be second rate Creature Harvesters second to droids.

Hi i just made novice ranger and decided to head over and do some reading up. DAMN are you guys organized! I love the suggestions you have and although i doubt you will get all of them they are REALLY well thought out and all very practical. Frankly im amazed. I thought the ID board was well run but this is truly impressive! I hope to participate more as i get higher up in the skill and begin to understand everything your suggesting. much of it sounds great but its hard to completely make sense of all the changes unless youve used some of them!

Wow i posted to soon Thanx serpahin for proving me wrong. IF you really are so sick of rangering then GIVE IT UP! thats right stop doing it. NObody is forcing you to play a ranger. I agree there are bugs.. even as a novice ranger i can see some of them, but if all you do is **edit** the devs will put you on a shelf until you learn how to ask nciely. ID jsut got osme of its wish list. and the first thing that happened was a surge of bitterness from combat professions deeming them unworthy of their fixes! WHat kind of self centered BS was that! Do you really want to look like the person who stuck around and whined about something till everybody ignored him or do you want to be one of the people who ACTUALLY tries to show new ideas and wait patiently! Ive been here five minutes and am already sick of your fatalistic attitude!

So in all honesty and with no malice, if you hate being a ranger because it doesn't work then just stop. Sell your ranger skills sell your scout skills and become something else so you can **edit** at them about how the profession sucks there!
