I refuse to hunt with people I really don't know. Well, I'll hunt with new players to help them out. But then, I'm teaching them how to hunt properly, so they learn to not harvest before we kill them all. But I don't just go out with random people and hunt. The reason now is because it's simply too frustrating. Me 'n Fred have gone hunting, but then again, we both know what we're doing. I won't just say "hey, you're not doing anything, come out and shoot stuff with me." I also don't do solo groups. So this won't be an issue for me.

Personally, I feel like someone who said they wanted a certain pair of boots, only to have someone buy them for me, butin the wrong size and colour.

Phen, I think you got the Nov/Master thing mixed up - read again.
You know what your biggest problem is Paks? You bring logic to places it doesn't belong.
BAH!
She's right. I don't know if it should be Master Scout or Nov. Ranger. I like the idea of Ranger being special. and if you're Master Scout, Nov. Ranger isn't all that many more points....but giving scouts something would be good too.

I don't wish to be a party-pooper but i still think that novice scouts shouldnt be getting the bonus - the penalty should be removed fora group with a master scout present, and then there should be a 20-40% bonus with a master ranger. Imho it is silly to do things by halves so stick the pros in the master boxes.

On the 64m proximity:
I personally like it. Instead of just being a random and very low contributer to a team, a ranger can now be a partial hunting guide. We dont provide many skills in this role 'Yet' but we could later on. People will take notice of the ranger, make sure when they harvest they are near him, learning from what he is doing in an rp sense and ultimatly being close enough to benefit from the ranger 'help'.
As i see it the reason why we can increase the harvest of others is because they are near us, watching us and learning from us when we harvest, i like that idea rather than just because we are around we increase harvesting. When we go to harvest, everyone who wants to increase their yeild should take not of what the ranger is doing and this solution does it for me.
If they loose out on the bonus then tough luck to them. We give the bonus because they are learning off our techniques and if you dont pay attention you shouldnt get the benefits.
Thats just my personal take on things but i like it.

Yup, the 64 meter things is good. It is easy to prevent any harvest loss (and so what if you only harvest 100% every now and then) by having an organized group. This stipulation is put in to prevent solo-grouping and needs to stay, IMO.
Every hunt I have been on, the harvesters are always within 64m of each other, so I can't imagine this causeing problems.

Oh my...you mean that me as Master Ranger, grouped with my friend can actually outharvest my Master Fencer with Novice Scout?
Ha. Now that's a switch I like.

After sleeping on it, I think the best thing to do still would've been to simply remove the penalty and leave it at that. Maybe give non-Rangers a 20% bonus for having a Ranger in the group within 100m, as an incentive to have us come with, but as it stands now, yeah, all they did was switch the penalty from the grouping Ranger to the non-grouping Ranger, and increase it to boot.

Here's one for you:
Ranger/Rifleman, with short to medium range fighters. All those close in harvest before ranger gets a chance to, and the corpse thus decays before ranger can get in to harvesting range (if not using a droid).

I still don't see why there has to be a 20% bonus if you're grouped ( without a Ranger ).
That effectively negates 20% of the 30%/40% bonus love we get.
They want to encourage group hunting, fine, but that should be a CURB thing. After the CURB the 20% bonus is just going to be a simple game-mechanic, it's effectiveness in regards to promoting group-play will be next to nothing.
The 20% bonus should at least require Master Scout or the 4th tier in hunting. The 20% increase for groups wihout a Ranger does not make any sense at all. So you have no skills in hunting but you still increase harvest for the group? Why?
Remove the penalty, change the 20% bonus to tier 4 or Master Scout, and leave the 30%/40% for Rangers as it is. Just my 2 creds.
... and good to see the 64m check for Rangers implemented. Now they can build on that for our revamp
