Oh my god fried mars bars suck
never felt so ill in my life (ok ok, new years even a month back was the worst).
I have to admit though ive had both a mars and a snickers and the snickers was the same sort of taste but it had peanuts that were as hot as the sun burning holes throuh my tongue too.
Never again will i try battered chocolate snacks, they just arnt for me
What type of burgers/cheesburgers do you guys like? The fast food type (mcdonalds) or the homemade type (not rolled off a production line etc)?
I prefer the home made style ones but the production line ones are nice as a snake. You cant beat a home made type burger as a meal though.

now THAT is a tough question. I have to admit I really don't have a preference. while I can enjoy a good homemade burger, I can enjoy good quality, from TGI Fridays (a restaurant chain) to WENDY'S (NO IE!) to something a bit unique in the US... White Castle. known down south from the Krystal chain, it's a small, 2 in (about 5cm) square burger, with holes, steam-grilled over onions, with ketchup and pickle (cheese if you want). I usually eat about 4-5 at a clip. anyone else here know of the glory that is White Castle?

I'll admit, I like fast food fries, but English chippers' fries are superb. The closest thing in America is steak fries at a decent restaurant, though they're not as greasy or salty. Never been a big fan of fish though, so I always got burgers at the chipper. All I have to say is: if the English did burgers as well as they do fish, I'd have been in heaven. But they don't. Blech.
By the way, it may kill me 20 year from now, but when I was in Scotland, I fell in love with haggis. LOVE it. any food cooked in the stomach of an animal= mmmmmmm.

Woohoo! A fellow Glaswegian?
Oh and i'll second that Owen, chicken pakora after a night out is the food of gods.
Better mark up another 'weegie!!
Though I'm in the Deep South now, well, Dumfries. Best chippy in town? ANOTHER weegie who moved down here because the pace of life is way better.
Right, pork rolls, I can go over the border here to Carlisle, Moggerley's Pork Butchers, mmmmm.
Over the border, turn left, head for Carlisle, stottie with ham and pease pudding. Class.
Embra for curry sauce on your chips and Glasgow for proper fish suppers. Out of the newspaper. nhurrrrr....
Oh, and for perverse, Stonehaven (way up north) only claim to fame, they invented the Deep Fried Mars Bar. Boak!
Am hungry now. Wonder if the Mrs will go into town and pick up a bag of chicken pakora....

By the way, I'm feeling like a minority in this thread, seeing as how I'm from America. What is the percentage of brits/irish/scots/welsch in the Ranger forum?

I'm from southern california, but I call oregon home now. I just like chip butties. And when I started this thread, I figured I'd get a thumbs-up from owen and almagill, and a'what the hell's a chip butty?' from a few others. I did not intend to create a monster.
And for the record, there's no better hangover cure than a sizzling platter of fajitas or a few enchiladas.
I'm wondering, though-- how come we can't get lion bars here in the states? Best. Candy bar. Ever. Truly, it's a beast of a bar.
