Thread: Please support this idea for bringing back bio-farms which benefit Scouts/Rangers (link inside)
It's doubled, actually. You need to go back to Ranger Fred's School of Hunting

I know that, but the Master BE / Master Ranger apparently isn't really interested in exact knowledge about one of his 'mastered' professions that I expected to be common knowledge for Rangers so I didn't feel the need to give him that exact data :-).
Ok, but you just got the class a pop quiz

So maybe a few who are probably harvesting creatures themselves atm would also pick up trapping, that still would leave the vast majority who wouldn't, and guess what? they would rely on RANGERS to supply them. This would actually add to your potential earnings not take away from them. And guess what? you could have Bio Farms to if you wanted.
Thats an easy one, you've just answered our point completely. DEMAND outstripes SUPPLY! So either we bleat on constantly and have our schematic resouces drastically reduced or we add another dynamic to the game. Bio Harvesters.
As for the condescending tone, funny enough i picked that up from all the Ranger posts on the BE forum. Mine started out as a well thought out proposal to be commented on, thought about, improved and flaws pointed out, not an invitation to add nonsensical arguements and generally whine. (Not all posters did this, some even validated their arguements effectively.)
Well hot dayam.. since we might happen to get a share of a rancor mission we should just be giving you the piddly stuff we happen to harvest. How could we be so selfish... Yessah mastah BE.. anythin' else i can do foh ya...? We aims to please.
Rofl. Actually go as far as to say abit of racial slurring goin on there. Boils down to a fair price for a fiar product again. But hey u want to have your cake, eat it and not let anyone else have a slice. Fair dos, If you think thats right. Try to come up with a constructive template to improve this situation no matter what it is and if its workable and fair I would support it. This drivel about keeping Rangers for Rangers and not dabblers just doesnt wash unless you show that as a class you can fulfill the current game dynamic demands that currently exists for creature resources.
Call for improvements to the class (as a MR i would welcome them to you know) but don't casually right off a concern from other professions just because you can.
Random spawned lairs give MUCH more meat/lair (as they have MUCH more mobs in them). Finding wild rancor lairs is actually no problem at all and you don't even have to have /areatrack for locating them. If you know what you do as a hunter you just move to the areas on dathomir where you run into random spawned rancor lairs every 50-100m . Taking missions REDUCES the amount of meat gathered on easy to find mobs like rancors, your argumentation is a bit ... interesting .
Actually very rarely do missions accept for resources for other people on Dath because I'm usually there for one thing, Mutant DNA. I use Area Track all the time and while very buggy it is a godsend finding Mutants when the ones youve tried to sample start beating seven bells of **** outa each other.
I actually have about 7 WPs for the best areas and tbh enraged/bulls/rancors/youths etc get in the way and are more a hindrance than a help.
As my guild hunts here often for Rancor missions and to doNightsisters etc. I have seen Rangers ask quite often for group invites to do missions for the payout as well as the harvesting. As a sociable character i have often sit in their camps and chat while on muon downers from sampling or crafting the DNA i have already got.
I also go on guild hunts for hide and bone for other guildys that are doin Ranger as a holo or just doin it as I have the best harvesting rate for this.

Aye. Over the weekend I came back to Corellia to pick up supplies.
I located everything I wanted in the vendors south of Coronet (this is of course on Corbantis).
I found someone selling Veghash for horridly low prices (apparently there are few players who purchase it, so it was quite a bargain).
I found pet-stims at prices that were unbelievable... I was expecting to pay at least 10 times the amount I found them at, I was quite impressed.
I found several bio-pets that interested me... I wish BEs would produce a wider assortment of pets, I'd love to walk into a pet store one day and find CL 19 Cat species with a high damage range in abundance. * hint hint Corbantians *
As well I boughtsome Sugar Poppers (Crate), Blue milk, and Muon (Crate).
Of course, in the process I unloadeda tonneof meats that I was carrying around, onto the bazaar... I priced the stuff from5 to 20 depending on the quality. It all sold within the day, and I made a tidy profit in the process (over and above the cost of the items above).
I'll continue to sell at the prices I sell until players stop purchasing at that price...Once that happens, I'll reduce my prices and continue right on selling.
Just call me the local bazaar undercutter.

You still don't get it *sigh*
We don't set the prices on huntables, we just take the best someone offers at his free will. And sad for your crafterprofession, it's the Armorsmithes and Docs. It's not OUR fault that your profession tends to sell their products at ridculously low prices making you unable to compete on offers buying our time.
Your farms won't change that. Armorsmithes will still have more credits and pay more if you do not adapt to the necessities of the market. Why should I deliver a trapped animal to your farm? I also could trap one that gives wooly hide (you don't really expect that this farm if ever implemented would only give one type of now 'huntable' ressource, do you
And no, higher harvestrates (which ARE needed for different reasons) won't help the specific problems of the BE's and Chefs on your server either. Again, the armorsmithes and docs still would offer more than you will (maybe at lower prices as today but still above the prices you are willing to pay), I still would work for them (ofc after I supplied the PA and some friends with the amounts they want at typical 'PA, friends, etc' contracts at low rates).
Simple thing, you either need to make some friends with hunters (your attitude shown here probably won't help that much heh) or adapt to the market and compete with the insane offers we get from the already mentioned groups of VERY good paying buyers
Fred_Skinner wrote:Don't forget, you have an active AR trying to keep the prices down on Eclipse. We are not winning, however
And this is no wonder at all tbh. Take a closer look at the eclipse galaxy trade board and you know why
I recently sold a quest reward (a completly useless 'mystical orb' I got from one of the Valarian missions on Tatooine which I did at pistols II from marksman) for 800k ...
There are insane amounts of credits flying around on every corner of eclipse, a PA mate of mine (a pure combat player btw, no scoutskills or crafterstuff involved) for example some time ago payed 8 million credits on a nightsister energy lance made from a looted schematic. No, not to use it. To decorate his 'office' with it, he doesn't have the skills to use it anyway.
You find countless examples of useless junk going away at completly crazy prices. Why should we try to keep prices of actually USEFUL things artifically low in such an environment?
