You can call me by name, you don't have to say "certain people." /grin Though I certainly did not mean to imply you do not know what you are talking about.

And Calc snapping in that post was a contiuation of a joke started in another thread. I forget which one, but I remember it strangely all made sense.

I think he was talking about me, Paks. He has made several comments about me, but strangely refuses to say my name. I can take it, I am a big boy.

I have been trying to keep the whiners calm for nearly two years, I am not going to stop now. I have been on the inside and seen how the dev game is played. I know what works, and what doesn't. What makes the whiners think they know better than I do?

Oh, and BioEngine, you need to brush up on sarcasm. Teero (Oreet) knew what he was saying and knew that I was kidding. He spent a whole thread razzing me on a horrific typo I made, and we just moved into another thread.

It's funny when someone assumes that one person is talking about them when they make claims that would portray a negative characteristic, and it's even more so when one person says "it's me," and another says "no, it's me!"

When someone says to stop complaining, aren't they complaining about complainers? I think that telling people to quiet down is almost inviting to escalate the situation, from what I have seen in the past. Also, some may take the "I know how the Dev game is played" statement as the only reason that you are being so calm, and they would seek to know why this would be a comforting piece of information.

Ken - "Honey I dropped the baby"

I've never dropped a baby. And, if I had it was just gravity working as intended resulting in the said infant adopting a generally downwards trajectory, again as designed, due to a misapplication of the player/parents 'grip' skill.

Nor have I ever called Paks the h word.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Since I used the word 'whiners' multiple times in post, I just put two and two together. I am crafty like that.

If people don't want to listen to me, that's their perogative. All I can do is try to direct them down the right path. if they choose not to follow that path, more power to them. They will reap what the sow.

Again, you are trying to be subtle, but I am the only one who has made the "I know how the Dev game is played," comment. But, I suppose that by assuming you meant me, I am just feeling guilty right? What is vague about my tactic of saying that. I said that whining pisses of the devs, because I have seen this from the inside. How is that vague?

If you (or others) felt I was vague, perhaps you could have asked what I meant.

One person, chosen at random, is designated as "It." The function of the person so designated is to chase the others until he/she catches one. The individual caught by the person designated as "It" then becomes "It." This occurence removes the designation of "It' from the original individual, whose function now is to avoid capture by the newly-designated "It." The function of "It" never changes. The former "It" may invoke the "No Tag-backs" clause, which will briefly render him/her immuneto capture. The Dev game continues in such a fashion until someone from LucasArts declares it to be Nap Time.

Certainly not by whining. Let me tell you a little story. A fresh young Corr by the name of Calculus wandered into the Corr Forum. He immediately started a barage of 'What about Ranger?' posts. The devs were angered by this action. Calc was reprimanded. Calc then served the Ranger Community and the devs for amny more months and made an observation: the devs did not respond to flames of the devs of other corrs with kindness. They smote the offending posters. The devs did, however, respond to the posters who made good, solid arguments, but not always.

Enter, the Jedi. Calculus also noticed that there were an awful lot of Jedi Correspondents. Yes, they were there to represent other professions, but they were Jedi at heart. Many of these psuedo-Jedi Corrs made very well worded areguments, and since there were 8 separate voices, the were heard. The devs made sure to note that it was not the whiners on the jedi forum that made the difference, but it was good, solid arguments that swayed them.

(WARNING: Pure bitterness and speculation) Enter, the bureaucrats. The powers that be then decided that they liked the direction Jedi was heading, and told the devs to make Jedi THE reason to play SWG. The peeps ate this up like buttered popcorn.

Calculus used his vast obsevation skills to deduce that 1) the devs hate whining, 2) the devs like well thought out arguments and 3) the devs no longer have a say as to what gets done with SWG.

I really don't mean this to be as condescending as it sounds!!!

Now, what I would like to see is some respect for the Corrs and yes, the glowie. We have been on the inside and seen how the Dev game is played. When one of says something of that nature, please heed our words. When another backs up the first person, please realise that there is a trend here. If a third indeed says that the other two are right, you need to think really hard about the fact that we know what we are talking about.
