Revamp comes - this change is bad because it means that camping as a part of the profession isn't as likely to see great improvements given that the xp required is general rather than specific to that tree.

As it stands, in the current system - harvesting is really fast and easy to get to where you want to go. I can go to dathomir with friends, they fight, and I harvest - I get between 300-1200 experience per shot, and I gain a box within an hour or two easily. heck, the only time consuming thing in the leveling of ranger, currently, is the survival XP - which is painfully easy, just long.

When I popped in to live and cashed in my Scout/Trap XP for FS so I could get data on it and traping XP it was painfully obvious how much faster it is in live.
I don't know what I makes me want to scream more, this Survial XP thing or the painfull state of Scout XP. Both of them is nuts.

My guess is this change was based, in part, on the last 2 years of complaining about Survival XP. But, Owen did point out that people had said Scout/Ranger was too slow to level, so instead of adressing the issue with Scout XP, they made more of an issue by adding another line of Scout XP. Frankly, I will have to test this, but I could see how one could level Scout/Ranger more quickly by crafting camps than by actually fighting.
I was with you until the last line. The devs don't make more work for themselves just to spite a profession.
Then, please explain to me the following issue:
* why is that in CU TKA with VK still gets 1H XP ??? This bug existed already BEFORE they did remove the survival xp (and even removed it only partially at first?)
* some problems with pistol xp too I believe (same!)
I keep reasonable track on all fixes and changes, and this one comes falling out a complete blue sky.
Umm...what? You think the devs made VKs give 1h xp to piss off TKAs?I don't follow you...
No, not to piss off the TKAs but to show you why I made my last statement. Why did they change something that is working but needs a little bit of tweaking (maybe) while something else is really broken and should be fixed first.
Isn't the VK's giving 1h XP an unintentional bug?

I also like the diversity of xp types we have. When I look at the tree now it is just another line of scouting xp I have to get. It makes me feel grumpy the same way having to get all that pistol xp for meaningless smuggler lines made me grumpy.
