ranger 4/0/4/0
rifleman 3/0/0/4
CH - master
novice medic
advantages
multiple pets or CL70 megatanks plus a combat droid (CH)
x/x/x/4 means high rifle speed, so good damage (rifleman)
great tracking and harvesting and good range of camo kits (ranger)
able to low level heal self and others (medic)
good, but slow template for soloing
disadvantages
the usuals
i quite like the RP mix of these professions. i imagine myself as a wildsman; in touch with nature having, creature companions and a trusty rifle. i love it!

My Template is fairly straight forward TKM/MCH/MS/Ranger 0030
Advantages:
Highest level pet to assist in combat, including pets that can have attacks like plague strike, strong poison, KD, DIzzy and Intimidate
Pet mounting for cheaper yet slower transport
Good creature knowledge even without many ranger skill ranks
Pets trained to the best possible level (special 1 and 2, tricks etc)
Embolden Pets ensures even the meekest pet will reengage
Enrage Pet to deal additional damage
Tracking
Power Boost
Force of Will
Good Melee resistances, including melee mitigation 3
Good range of Melee attack types and statuses
Speed capped attack rate
Ability to obtain higher level missions from terminals by grouping 70 levels of pet, adding mission payment to resource values
Using pet as tank can back out of combat and reapply Power Boost, mitigate poison/disease, regenerate or run/call vehicle
All skill points used
Disadvantages:
Must rely on pet to have a ranged attack
Buffs and Food/Drink enhancement required if you intend joining combat
Unable to use medic stimpacks so no healing in combat (pet stims are useable though)
Currently Kinetic damage only
There are other items but they have all been previously mentioned for each profession.
I have used this for a while now and will not be changing anything as it suites my play style and give me great enjoyment.

Forgot to 5 star this awhile back... great thoughts and insights.
I have a few additions to rifleman though.
01 - RIFLEMAN
Main:
Provides the player with hunting skills and harvest bonuses to complement a very powerfull combat profession.
Pros:
Massive Damage Output (rifle) - Lots of nice specials including AOE's
Single Pull Capability (rifle) - Over 40m a rifleman has a huge chance to pull a single creature from a pack
Prone Bonuses (rifle) - Using prone gives lots of shots unagro'd, coupled with Camo too you get 20+ shots un-agro'd
Damage Types (rifle) - You have a massive selection of damage types to hit creatures weaknesses
Single Pool Shots (rifle) - /headshots allow you to attack a creature and work on one pool
Conceal Shot (rifle) - With carefull management can kill a target completely unagro'd
Able To Track Animals (ranger) - Using /areatrack enables you to find rare and valuable critters
Harvest Bonuses (ranger) - You can harvest more off a single creature than most
Keep Critters At Range (ranger) - Pheascene and Adhesive Mesh slow and root creatures
Camo Bonuses (ranger) - Using camo kits give the player many shots without getting attacked
RangedDefense DebuffTraps (ranger) -Glow Wire and Glow Juicetraps take down combat defenses making targets much easier to hit
Terrain Negotiation: (Ranger) - With the additional bonuses granted over the +50 from scout a ranger crawls faster than any other profession. Combining this with "take cover" and rifle crawl speed a ranger / rifleman has great advantages in the field.
Burst Run Efficiency (Scout) - the added buff against BR costs make kiting and keeping ideal range very possible without worrying about HAM costs.
Cons:
Lack Of Melee Defenses (rifle/ranger) - Compared to melee classes, week in defenses against creatures
Range Causes Harvesting Problems (rifle/ranger) - Have to run to target to harvest
High HAM Costs (rifle) - You will need enhancers (Buffs, food, spice) for mind pool in particularaly to hunt effectively.
Lots of SP Cost (misc) - Ranger and scout cost alot of SP, could be spent elsewhere

They weren't for me. I certainly would not have described my experiences the same way.

Hmm weird.
Things could change of course, ive just started my second year and have no idea whats coming, however my city flat is in a complex of 120 others and i know each and every one so i cant see things changing too much hehe. Perhaps a little less hungover assignments and less all dayers but i still think it should be a laugh.
What did you study calc?
