Personally I am happy they delete posts. Some people honestly post specifically to hurt and piss other people off. i don't know why they do so or what they get out of it, but i'm sure we've all seen it. The ID forums after their revamp was UGLY. Every nasty troll coming over to harass the IDs about the stat migration change - like it was their decision or something. My report finger got a workout then.
Also when the AFK nonsense on the dancer and musician forums was at its height I used to report posts almost every day. It was much nicer to have them simply deleted then have to look at a page of locked posts. Not every forum moves as fast as the Ranger forum.
P.S. I actually thought it was hilarious that Oreet's thread got locked.
SOE owns SWG (and the forums) and has every right to administer them in any way they see fit.
Hmm...

I think my head just exploded.
I know you are kidding bud, but I want to make sure people remember that there were more posters in that thread than Oreet. If I recall correctly, there was some (not Oreet) trolling in there.
While I don't begrudge mods locking threads (even if I disagree with it, they have so much to do that they have to make a snap decision), I do find deletion distateful. But I'm not the mod and they have their own rules to play by.
The reason why I posted here was not because of Oreets post but of another post that was deleted. A post showing off a new sig. Is that trolling? Just because it's off topic doesn't mean it should be deleted otherwise I would never have learned of chip bunty, monkeys, ranger hats, etc.

that's why i asked the question. I realized it was off topic, that's why i wondered if someone had flamed or something before it got deleted. I see the reason for locking it, it was off-topic and uneccessary, but i didn't see any reason for it to be deleted.
As for mods. They usually do a very good job. I remember the AS forums were so bad after the changes to AS were announced for the CURB that i couldn't read. Here i wanted to get info on the changes and i had to sift through a ton of garbage posts. Then more got deleted and AS's started screaming censorship and flaming devs... uugghghh it was a nightmare. I bet 100 posts got deleted in the span of a week. So the forums mods do a good job and i am appreciative, even though i still disagree with locking oreet's post. ((hmm oreet's and my post were locked, i think it's a bothan conspiracy, does Garva have a bothan Entertainer?))
Nerf the Bothans!!!

Well, over in the Smuggler forums we've recently had a couple off topic posts deleted. The odd thing about them was that they were both dealing with Stargate SG-1.
