Its a service or instrument just like PSGs are that would enable pure crafters to last longer in the wilderness.

Even tough your intentions are good, the principle behind it is wrong.

To be effective on the high level planets (dathomir) the camo kits and skills need to be as high asmaster rangers for not to break immediately. If it is going to be used by EVERYONE, whatneed would an enhanced camo for Rangers do? Nothing...

Assuming that only Rangers can craft camo I think this is the best news we've had in a while...if we play itright. Now we have something other than just dead animal parts and tracking for the clueless that will cause other professions to seek us out, not to mention an added new source of cash! This will also help greatly in bring the Ranger profession to the attention of more players than just Doctors and Bio-engineers, thereby offering us a great chance for good PR in general.

This will give many of usa new and interactive element in working with our favorite crafters and artisan. Now I have something other than credits for use in bartering with my favorite suppliers. It will be nice to be able to drop off crates of camo to help out my favorite Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, Droid Engineer, Architect, Doctor, Bio-engineer, Tailor, and Shipwright. All of whom I work with but can be there to help out in person.

For those of you that say that the Development Team is "giving away", "watering down", or otherwise "destroying" the profession, I must disagree. Almost everything the Combat Upgrade has brought, architecturally, has been good. While there are still bugs and tweeking to do (I think the combat level difference curves are still a bit steep) I already like the post-CU world more than I did the old system, if for no other reason than it brings new focus and energy and creativity on the part of the developers to the game.

What's more, those of you out there with two brain cells to rub together and experience with large project work either here or in the "real world" (Cal, Owen, JB, et al.), just plain know better than to jump up and down every time a big patch comes out thatdoesn't fully transform the world of SWG into Ranger heaven. This type of reaction is commonplace throughout the forums and I've always liked that the Rangers usually (though unfortunately not always) aresmarter and more mature than that. It tough to show you're the wise old ranger on the other side of the camp fire with word's like "nerf bat" coming out of your mouth.

We have a revamp coming. Every revamp to every profession so far has angered 25% and enraptured 75% of thatprofession's population and we will be pretty much the same. We, like everyone need to accept and work with that 75% "we like that part" success rate and help the developers know clearly and concicely what we want as a community. And we must be smart enough to do it within the context of the game and the real world constraints that we know the developers have to live with. If you don't like the pace of development, than start a petition demanding that SOE double our monthly fees and put the cash into the development team.

How many Rangers does it take the change the spinner blades in a recycler? Ten. One to change the blades and nine to sit around the camp fire talking about how good the old blades were.

My piece of flint's worth.

Clear Skies and good hunting.

This, coming from the guy who just got his thread locked on the Artisan forums.

I do not know how he could have been raised like this. It saddens me that respec has brought this kind of person into our forums. Is nothing sacred?

Owen,
Crafters asked for a class level, not much, maybe 10 per crafting mastery. Just enough so that we don't get insta-capped by mobs 2-3 levels higher than us and have time to run away. Barring that we asked if rangers could apply more effective, longer lasting buffs. In other words just fix the rangers current camo system so that it will be worth it. I
Instead they decided to make camo kits useable by every one, which is their way of saying yeah we can't fix it the way you want it so we'll just make it so everyone can use it. Same thing with weapons and meds.
We didn't ask for it but its there.
We didn't asl for class levels either but its there too and we are affected such that the devs probably felt that in order for us to survive then they must bother other professions such as yourself.
I'm sorry you feel that way but if I had one wish I'd rather have the old pre-cu as well but you know it will never happen.
Instead, perhaps you can ask them to enhance your camo system in terms of stregth and duration. I personally do not care if we use it ourselves or have a ranger apply it to us.

hang on, CRAFTERS asked for this and got it?

Don't you think they should at least have come and ****dy well asked THE RANGERS before the crafters take it on themselves to get 'fixes' for OUR ruddy profession?

Hey watch it Bio. Express your opinion bud but lets keep the agression and attitude out of it. Some of us are very pissed including myself but we need to stay focused and mature about this stuff if we are going to address it, know what i mean?

We're not dead, we're just watered down yet more. Yes, some Rangers will thrive by selling the kits. More power to them if they can positively adapt.

If they want to give something out, give out Mask Scent. It's a novice skill, requireing only 20 points. I can handle that.

But Camo is an elite skill. It takes what, 36-40 skill points to earn the ability as a Ranger? And they're giving it out to everyone? How can people not see the problem in that? It takes us from a utility or service class and turns us into crafters.

We are not crafters.

They might as well let everyone have four vendors with a 750 item limit. Oh, wait, we used to be able to do that, and they decided if you wanted the skill, you should invest the skillpoints....

Done, but I'm still friggin' mad at him for spamming the other forums trying to represent our entire profession as well. No single phrase, nor single person can represent anything so complex.

It almost makes sense now when we originally weren't classified as a combat prof for the CU. I believe we are now to be a crafting prof.

Pray they don't start to let others use camps. Imean, I love crafting, it's my alt's purpose, but it's not why I got into Ranger.

Looks like someone else is spamming the crafter forums, trying to pass off every Ranger's opinion of this issue.

hold the phone bud, i didnt say that i was representing every rangers opinion, your jumpin to conclusions. This is a change, a major change to our profession, am i happy with it? no. But lets try and make lemon juice out of the lemons the devs are handing us.

Just gotta make the best with what we have, im not speaking for anyone but myself, sorry if that offends you bio.

Have you checked that we've in fact been given lemons yet?

Until this is tested properly you might just have a bag of bantha bits there...

I agree shilo.

Bio: if you read the forums more carefully, you'll see the shilo is trying to get the peoples feelings about it.

Nothing wrong with that. In fact I applaud you for it. I will be posting in the same threads. Have a couple hours of sleep and a bunch more to throw into the discussion to show the ridicilouness of this whole proposal.

I apologize. I was wrong in what little comments I made, and I have retracted my posts.

a) He has now offered a link to our forums in his original post.

b) He asks that they visit said link, "to get the entire scope of how our community feels."

c) He didn't put it on every crafter forum.

d) I am in a very bad mood today. Still trying to find a full-time job, my parents keep telling me I'm addicted to this game, but I'm not even going to the fan fests, nor have I previously, my computer keeps CTD'ing, our 140 skill point profession is suffocating under the complaints that involve us, and I keep trying to tell myself "Murphy's Law," "stay the course," and "do not go quietly into that good night."

e) Words said / typed in anger usually lead to regret, and our time on this earth is much too short to regret a moment of it.
