Raz,

Perhaps. I tend to think that you'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I also like to think that I'm objective when I talk about our issues. Maybe I'm not.

Worthless? How is creating a larger camp that heals faster and creates a safe haven in the wilderness worthless? How is creating a camp that lets Doctors make Rezz packs, Armorsmiths armor, Weaponsmiths weapons, etc. in the middle of the deserts of Tatooine worthless? And there are a lot of other types of camps that are in the works that will make this even more worthwhile. This isn't pessimism - it's not being in touch with reality

Well, IF is repled creatures as avertised, then yes, the Ranger camps would be very useful. The Food/Chemical crafting station is useful. Though I am not real sure how many Doctors create items "in the field." Now a BE friend of mine thought is was great so he could do some creature building right after getting samples. If Experimenting on Traps and Camps did anything then the Weapon/Droid/General crafting station would be useful as well. They are very high on the COOL factor, but only mild on the USEFUL scale.

For me I am very much wait and see. I don't expect anything tomarrow, but in 2 or 3 months we should see some nice things, and in a year, we are going to be fantasitc with abilities that we did not even think about yet.

My personal quetion is, should I keep Master Ranger this month or sell it back for something else for a while. (outside of Fronteering, the rest of the skill/XP can be gotten in a solid weekend of playing ) Maybe I will become a Master CH to annoy Delta

Delta,
I am not disagreeing with you. I just get the impression that you take it for granted that I am hunting for flies.

My playstyle does not see advantages to some of the debates as to what is a good improvement to Rangers. I am not attacking any dev, player, or poster. I defend my playstyle which I assume others do as well.

Delta,

Well we must have different PA's. My Docs usualy have crates of Stims and Rez Packs ready before heading out into the field.

On a side note, I realy only end up group with my PA for PvP or other GCW events (ie raiding bases) I am not that useful on "Big Game Hunts" since I am a brawler And with the number of other Scouts in the PA, rarely do they need my HTFB.

"Anyone who reads the Scout boards knows that I rank CHs on my list of favorite things right above poo-eating and below papercuts on the eye. BHs generally aren't as snotty."

Thanks Delta... Good thing I'm a Ranger who treats the CH class as a speed bump in my goal to being one with the wild.

Ok, might be off topic, it might be dead on. I would LOVE for master rangers to be able to examine an animal and see the qualites of it's meat/hide/bone. I mean a detailed list including Overall Quality, Decay Resistance, Unit Toughness, etc...

Second, I think our crafting stations need to be in the level of a good private crafting station. I've had master doctors complain that they can only make certain things (and better things) at a private station. This is OUR camp, therefore is it not private? Can the quality of the camp dictate the funtionality of the stations (with details on the examine list)? Only fair.

/conceal would be right up there with what a ranger does. Not for sniping, but for spying and tracking. maybe make it so we can't shoot concealed, like have an on/off swith with a 1-2 second delay (unless we are fired upon).

Higher creature to hit bonuses. As it is, we are mainly novice marksmen, maybe with a few master skills. A pistoleer master has a better chance of taking down animals. Isranger not described inField Bio-Science IIas "knows exactly where to place a shot to bringacreature down"? As it is, you can't make a living as a ranger unless you have some really understanding friends that are willing to go on hunts with you with no pay and no resources to take home. Might as well give us a cane and a cup to panhandle for credits.

A half naked dancer living off a macro makes more than me...without expenses

Disappointed? Yes. Discouraged? Yes. Bitter? Yes. Going togo to CH so I can actually have a chance of taking anything down alone? Maybe.

I remember when I decided I wanted to be a ranger. I had fun playing a scout, and thought it would be fun to become a ranger. I'd be able to harvest meat/hide/bone off of animals, and make a good profit on what was being sold.

Granted, this is a good thing, that way it does promote grouping, no more **edit** ninja harvesters. Great thigns there, but unless something is done for the rangers, it is counter to what my original goal of becoming a ranger was (to be able to harvest cool stuff).

Well, the market will be even more flooded now with resources, maybe increase the amount of kill stealing (depending on how the harvesting works when a non-grouped person helps kill the creature). More supply, same demand, equals lower prices.

I will have to disagree with Delta's comment about half the scouts will end up being ranger. I doubt that stat is true. Look at the elite professions, and you will realize, that alot of the non-crafting professions require some advancement in the scout. The are very few who pick up ranger, and the likely hood, is that a good percentage of people who do pick up novice ranger, are the bounty hunters who have a whole of extra scouting xp, and decided to pickup ranger until they don't have anymore skill points.

Well, all I can do is hope that we get a response soon. Isn't that sad, we aren't even hoping for changes, we are hoping for a response.

To respond to Delta.

I don't think that we agree on the percentage of where Master Rangers go. I think most of them go off and become Bounty Hunters, you think it is more even. No big ( We'll agree to disagree ). And yes, I do agree Scouting is fun, and is why I become a Ranger.

Well, clock is ticking, the anti-pathy will last 9 or so hours (probably more) before the Ranger posts goes up and we get all of the response that we are hopping for. Based on your statement of the different responsibilities of the Ranger Dev, I will be pessimistic in that I don't really expect any new features/content/abilities any time soon. And yes, I do have patience, how else do you get to be from being 10k from Frontiering 4.

I don't think I'm worried about the gain of Scout XP, it ismore about the harvested resources. I would like to make some money off of it. Maybe with the fact that people can now "grind" Survival XP, the demand for hide and bone will also go up. (I can see it now, camps of Scouts on the outskirts of town, with scouts in there, grinding away Camps). Maybe the prices won't go down as I thought. I am very happy about the death of the ninja harvester though, very, very happy.

To your point about Camps usefulness. Well, it is well known that the camps don't repel aggros to what we expect. I personally don't believe a word of it, and think any aggro repelling, is just the innate abilities of a Scout/Ranger (advanced camp also advertises aggro repulsion). I think if they (the Devs) think that the camps are working, and are repelling aggros, just not doing it all the time, some type of message in game would to a world of good. (i.e. you there, camping, red appears on the radar, system message pops up, "Brisc's camp successfully repelled SeoJohnson (Thug)" or "Brisc's camp could not repel Seo Johnson (Thug)". I don't know about how useful the enhanced healing is. It is a little better for me now, since I surrendered my Novice Medic, and wounds are healing faster, but for a person with Novice Medic, I couldn't really tell the difference.

For Food/Chem stations or whatever else the High Tech Field Base (HTFB) gives you, I'm not sure how useful they are. They are nice, but any Doctor or other type of Crafter worth his/her salt, is going to have a Droid with a crafting station. Granted our camps are convenient, nice, and cool looking. From what people have posted, I guess the level of Crafting Station isn't good enough for other people, and for a prepared doctor, they should come prepared with Crates of Factory made stuff. Just makes better sense.

Thanks to Delta, I do have A New Hope, in that all of this "nerfing" of Ranger, is hopefully the start of changing the Ranger (moving our abilities to scout) so that we can get new abilities and skills, and get to where most of us want to be, To be Different than Scouts.

Well all try to come prepared, but how many times have you had to make a trap outside of the city walls?

Yeah, we all try and come prepared. Is a trap made at a crafting station made any better than one that is not?

My understanding is that there is no benefit for making a highly expieremented trap. It is the skill of the thrower, not the trap. Now if I'm mistaken, please, please correct me. I personally never expierement on traps, I just a few, use em, and move on. If an expieremented trap is alot better than one, then again, please tell me, otherwise.

So Chunky, to answer your question, 100% of the time. I make all my traps outside city walls. The way you state it, has got me worried that I need to be using a crafting station when I make my traps.
