My point was that sometimes we run out of things, doctors included. The crafting station for the most part is not for us, but for the medics and doctors that require them. Why have a station if it's not to be used? If the station is to be used, why not have it's usefullness hinge on the success of camp production?
I've stated in another post that I believe experimentation does play a role in trap effectiveness. I mass produce my traps, and quite honestly most of them hit. It's just like anything else crafted, it requires certain materials and certain qualities. It's all posted right there when you make it.
