Be happy I was on vacation CALC and had time to relax or I might blast you on this. Oh heck with it Im blasting!! Why cant people put that in thier post...its how they feel. But, once again your answer to this in not very nice...."TRY ANOTHER PROFESSION". I wonder how SOE would like you answer....maybe driving people away from game?? Wow I paid $49.00 for the game and another $15.00 a month to be a RANGER not a DANCER. Lets see if your ISP was not providing you with answers would you not be mad. You pay them 15 bucks a month! To tell someone they cant post something is WRONG! R U our advocate or not! Dont get me wrong a agree to a point that you attract more flys with sugar thing, but dang it we arent asking for much here just a mention or a bone! I will comply with your request only for sake of the community. But I do expect some feedback soon! And yes I am an ANGRY LITTLE OLD MAN that stomps his feet when he doesnt get his way.

Well buzzlo i have internet proms right now today and spent the last 24 hours yelling at csr's at the cable company. Got one person in to deepsh$t for given me an answer like that. He told me that it was not there prom but my prom and if i dont like it to change compants. After he told me that i cant talk to a super. Sorry i pay 50 a month and i want answers when things go wrong. Same here i pay 15 a month to be a ranger and want to get an answer on when we will get some love. They are making 4.5 million a month just on sw:g that is more then enough money to have one person work the boards and give us feed back on what the devs are working on and doing. Not talking a person like cal or any other cor. but someone like TH should be on every board all 30 plus boards droping a line in once every few days. Not long posts but just what is getting worked on what is getting looked at when a field will be started for a revamp. What is on the table and if there is a prom with things and work the boards. There really is no dev that u see on any of the boards that talks. The 19 questions is a joke sorry but that can take like 1 hour to answer 20 questions fast with little info. 75% of the answers any way are that is getting looked at in the gcw/combat revamps. what a joke

Who knew there was so much unhappiness here. Actually its only a couple of names doing it. To answer where does calc get off controlling the forum? Simply hes the correspondent. Its his job to keep the forums constructive and without flaming. Do you want the Ranger forum toturn into those other ones? I for one don't and thats why i feel a need to reply to all of these posts.
I had a guild member who mastered squad leader and refused to give it up. He posted at least once a day in my forums about how lame the SL profession was. And how the devs ignored him. My default answer to each of those posts "Why stay a squad leader then?". And he did it out of spite and nothing more. Now hes a Ranger actually. But hes not a Ranger because of its uberness, its abilities, its toys, its being able to drop a 300k ham NPC/Beast without being touched. Its about coming into a profession you know from the start isnt complete. A profession thats more about role playing and soloing. And a profession with a forum thats relaxed and actually tries to help each other out. Instead of degrading into 100 /petition to get ship x into JTL posts.
There are 32 professions in our game. If Ranger doesnt fit your needs then move on. If it does fit your needs and you wished it was just a little better. Then welcome and I hope to see your input in a neutral manner that might actually get something accomplished. Work with the tools you have. Not the tools you wished you have. I don't believe flame posts belong in here.

I have more frustration with people who post angry posts than I do with the devs. Despite being a Ranger since mid august 2003.
Let me tell you why: how many people are there on the development team? How many times more people are there who play the game? Exactly. Each dev, if they read every forum, would have THOUSANDS of people to be responsible for. They can't go through each proffession all the time. They would have to have a staff of 20 people (or 50 highly trained monkeys) to read all the threads and come up with ideas.
Coding takes time. Development takes time. Ideas take time. Balancing takes time. Squad Leaders and Smugglers have been stuck since day one, as have most entertainers (crappy missions). But they're finally making some changes. And they're adding new content. and new expansions. So all I know is that whining won't speed them up right now. They're ALREADY working on too many things right now. Proffession that never got new features go first. I can wait until after them. As I've said, they should start with small changes before giving us a big publish. But whining now only annoys people who don't like flames. It worked for Jedi BECAUSE THEY NEVER HAD A REVAMP (or new skills.) Same thing with BH. They were both proffessions that hadn't gotten early attention and had massive numbers of players in those profs. Rangers: a) got early love and b) don't have as many paying community members.
Gee, why do you think we have to wait? As for not getting any responces: do you honestly think that the 4 or 5 devs who post at all have time to post on forums that they aren't working on? Sheesh. Do YOU listen into conversations that don't involve you and then make comments to the people? No. When we come back to being on the list for revamps, our time will come and we'll have all the red names we can handle. And wouldn't it be better for everyone involved if when the red names showed up we game them well thought out ideas they could consider rather than "u SuXorS, de-nerf teh Ragner" posts?

I'm not gonna lie...I think "u SuXorS, de-nerf teh Ragner" is gonna be my new battle cry. Not because I'm actually whiny, but the Irony kills me faster than /rescue.

I partially agree with most of your statements. Except for the one about how we won't get much attention because not a lot of people play Rangers. Not many people played DE or Chef either. DE especially because it was so sucky and lame and not fun, and borked. Ranger is similar, even after getting two new added features. We had more people being rangers, but with so long not getting any fixes and additions, they left. Where are those threads of the ranger population and why you left? Look how many have left, and because they couldn't wait. And how many of them have said they will return once Ranger is better?
Calc, I appreciate your opinion and it makes me feel better that you also feel hotfixes won't do it all. I feel the same exact way.
What if we started a post, where we can start to narrow down the top 10 things WE would like to see fixed/added during our correspondant issues? Not that they will do 10 or those 10 but its a good number, and we can prioritize them in order of preferance.

ah, true, but again, it took almost a year for the DE's and Chefs to get an update...and they didn't have to compete with a Jedi Revamp, an expansion, and a combat balance of immense proportions. But yeah, next Ranger meet up we'll chug Jawa beer and Brany and Gin untill we can't even be buffed and then we'll scream "devs, you SuXorS, de-nerf teh Ragner" until the devs agree to work on us or there is a server restart.
