As usual, I agree with Zkull. However, when Jedis to come into Ahazi, I hope that my Antarian Ranger brethren respect my desire to protect Jedi and do not compromise my trust in them, whether Imperial, Rebel or Neutral. That said, I can't really complain if members choose to violate that trust. That's part of the game too.

I'll be protecting the jedi when they appear. They've got to have some allies for crying out loud.

Actually the Empire setup a cloning facility on dantooine taking advantage of the rumors that if you step foot near the ruins you would never be seen again, keeping snooping rebels away while they cloned an army. Check your facts before assuming, most storm troopers were clones.

Not all Imperials are quite like Darth Vader or the Emperor. A lot of us are just law abiding citizens, or soldiers who signed up to do our duty for the safety of our friends and families. I think the ideals of the Antarian Ranger can be easily followed by an Imperial Forces combat Ranger, especially one that was stationed to more remote areas. Maybe a high ranking Star Destroyer Commander would have troubles, but I don't think any of us are there yet.

We also have a lot of freedom to re-build the Antarian Rangers to our own views because of the time period. It looks like the group pretty much disbanded during the clone wars and the next they're heard of is when Luke starts to rebuild the organisation in the New Republic (after RotJ). So we're what, ~6 years before the rebirth of the Antarian Rangers? What we're doing is only the precursor to the proper organisation, we're gathering Rangers that have values and honourable ideals, people that want to work together. During this time period we are not Jedi support troops, Jedi don't really exist to use us yet.

My character is an Imperial Army Reconnaissance sergeant butis now retiring from the military. Not because I agree with the rebel cause, in fact, from in-game actions I see them as worse than the Empire in their conduct. No, I'm done with the senseless violence that both sides of the war seem to promote so much. I am going to explore the galaxy as a Ranger and offer my services where necessary, I am going to meet like minded individuals regardless of their sympathies, I am going to put in place a support structure (safe houses, protection, resources etc) incase Jedi ever do return. Aplace where they will be safe away from Imperial and Rebel warmongers who will want to use them as weapons, at least until they choose aside in the civil war,where they will then be supported by their faction.

Each Antarian Ranger chapter (galaxy) will probably develop in it's own way with it's own rules. For Kettemoor I will push to allow covert members of both factions, at least until Jedi start to appear at which point personal agendas may change.

I like most i think are torn on this idea.

Which is a good thing in a way, we are wanting to create a PA that spans multiple galaxies and excepts members from all factions.

I was thinking the other day that we split the PA's.

This means we would still have our code of honor, between Each other, but we would be called

Antarian Rebel Rangers <ARR>

Antarian Imperial Rangers <AIR>

i dont know if this would be excepted by everyone but for the sake of rp'ing i think it could work.

We as Antarian Rangers would help each other as normal, if someone from ARR needed some training on someone from AIR could do it, then they would, might even have inter PA hunts of the like, could make comps out of it. ARR v AIR see who can get the most hides in a night hunting etc..

Could even take it one step further, ARR help good Jedi, AIR help Dark jedi, ARR v AIR in PA Wars, all controlled of course.

Its just an idea but i think people could see the benefit of such a thing, we could also still do the selling of meats hides etc.. as we currently do. The mroe i think about it the more i do like this idea and may suggest it to my PA!

Is there a Bria chapter up and running? If so there is no chat->galaxy->ranger channel.

Im interested in joining this well thought out and elite group of adventuers.

I also like the idea about imperials and rebels both members of the Antarian PA. I can't remember who wrote it i just didn't feel like going back sorry haha, but someone wrote that it would be cool to see AR's of either faction on the battlefield acknoladge each other then turn to fight someone else. That kind of code of honor sounds really cool. To value the PA above the GCW. now this is just building off what is already there but i thought i'd put it my 2c of thought. I was thinking to let the AR go ahead and let imperials and rebels in. If we get enough players to join then we could almost be the 'keepers' of the GCW. you know, cuz if there's a vital mission that would really toast the rebels or imperials depending on who completes it then we could help or hinder players depending on who was at the disadvantage in that galaxy. I dunno if that made a whole lot of sense or not but im just saying that there are so many cool 'covert' things that a PA that exists in both factions can do. well just let me know what you guys think, also im still looking for help to start the AR on the eclipse server so if anyone out there on eclipse is willing /tell Ryynshull in game.

Your sending a pretty strong Rebel message there my friend. It should be mentioned that some chapters of the Antarian Rangers are Rebel/Neutral while others are not. I completly endores this; however, when you throw this out in the Professions forum as opposed to a galaxy specific forum, it may give the impression that yourstatement holds true for all Antarian Rangers. It does not.
The VERY best a rebel could hope for from me is that I dont shoot them, I wont be helping the Jedi if they are rebs. I wont target them unless they attack me first would be my only concession, but I doubt that will occur because I am certain that they will attack me when they see me shooting their friends. Besides with all the Imp faction I have I could not help them if I wanted to, which I don't(grin).

The point being I'm an Antatrian Ranger and I'm an Imperial. So when you thow stuff like that out, be certain that you mention your server, cause it aint like that on Ahazi. (grin)

That is great, and I agree. I have met several Rangers, not many for there anen't that many but that makes it cooler. They have all been nice and helpful. And I hope I have been the same. It never mattered what faction or PA they were part of.

I have a question though. I have been trying to find out if the Antarians have started an official PA on Bria. I have wanted to join an Antarian PA, but do not know if there is one on Bria or not. If not, how do I go about starting it, or talking with someone who wants to start it? And not finding out more about the Antarians and the history, I like the idea even more.

Sorry i didn't mean that my idea was for AR's all over. i did say that i was on the eclipse server. All i said that it would be kinda cool to see the AR do stuff like that. it was only a suggestion. I mean guaranteed you'll probably end up shooting another AR on the opposing faction sooner or later, but another cool thing to see after that was that they don't hold a grudge ya know. but like i said it's just a thought im just trying to find ppl of common mind to help start a AR PA on Eclipse.

Can a rebel & imperial PA work?

I agree with what you say, you are an imperial, i am a rebel, i shall be helping to protect Jedi, you shall be helping to hunt Jedi, as we both should.

How can we be in the same PA with such different goals.

Which is why i came up with the ARR & AIR - In my eyes it would still work exactly the same as it does now, if you need training give it, we could hunt together even, make a hunt competitions between each PA etc.. there could be loads of stuff we do with it while all the time have our factions seperated.

I love being in AR, but when Jedi are eventually invovled in this game i fear it will split the PA's thus ruining alot fo hard work by alot of people, where as if we make the change now it can be better in the long run.

The fact is, it can and has been working. Ahazi has several members from both factions and they have been hunting, meeting, working and having fun side by side ever since we started this PA. When we are on guild missions or outings, everyone there is just another AR member regardless of faction.

That same comaraderie continues outside any guild events also. Sure there have been jokes and comments here and there about one faction or the other, but all understand that is just in fun. The respect you get fromour Antarian Rangers cannot be match by any other player. Having the ability to coexist with each other regardless of their rp status shows the integrity and strength of our Rangers.

We like it this way and it works. I know that when the Jedi come there will be some who will help them and there will be some who won't depending on how much they are rping. However, I also know based on the character of our members, that we will work that out amongst ourselves in a mature fashion that will work for everyone. That is what an Antarian Ranger does.

This is our version of the AR. We started this PA based on a multi-galaxy conference and that is the waywe wanted it.If you really read my post which started this whole thread,you will understand how we came to become the AR. Those of you who were not involved in the founding of this PA simply see the name and history and assume this is the reincarnation of the old guard. It is not! This is the new open-minded AR that understands there is good and bad on both sides, but most importantly, respects the Ranger profession above all.

Most of the galaxies that participated in the initial conferences follow our initial ideals. We have welcomed many of your toonsfrom the other galaxies into our own guild on Ahazi as honorable members. Those of you touting'kill an imp at any cost' are in essence saying that some of my guildmates and original founders of the Antarian Rangers would not be welcomed into their own guild in your galaxy, but would instead be shot on sight!

While I cannot control what happens on other galaxies, I wish you folks would find your own PA name if you decide to go a different route than what the AR guild dictates. If we had called ourselves anything other than AR, this would not even be a discussion and a waste of space on this forum. How many of the other multi-galaxy guilds have had their name taken on other galaxies which have totally disregarded the original galaxy's charter? Some of you folks are treating this guild as if it is a built-in roleplay feature of SWG. It's not!! It's just the name of our guild. We found the name first, we liked itand we took it!!

The Antarian Rangers of Ahazi will remain the way it is as long as I have a say in it. Any galaxies that wish to use our guild name and follow our guidelines will get all the support I/we can give.But don't count on our help if you cannot accept and honorall my members in your version of the ARguild!!

Don't need your help, can find my own hunting grounds and resources, matter of fact i found some creatures last night that have such high quality hides it's unreal, and it's a noob creature.

I serve the rebellion and i do not ever help imperials in any way shape or form. I care not if an imperial out right can't prosper at all. If you are a rebel or a neutral i will do anything in my power to help you if you approach me. If you are an imperial i will do anything in my power to hurt you, inconvenience you, and slow you down in any way i can think of.

I am an antarian ranger in the star wars sense, you don't own the name, George Lucas does and this is a game licensed by him. So if rebel PAs want to use it they can, sorry but you can't stop people from roleplaying in a roleplaying game. I do not need your PA name over my head to be an antarian ranger. Personally since you do not like roleplaying i think you should have chosen a name like Friendly neutral rangers( FNN) or Hunters United Group ( HUG), i'm not so touchy feely and so i'd not join, and that is why i haven't joined your PA, i do not read your forums or anything. I find all the info i need right ehre and in game with rangers i've made friends with, rebel rangers. I even get info from artisans on what they need and where it can be found from time to time.

I personally do not like PAs and i do not belong to one and do not have plans to join one, and you know what? I'm doing fine without any of that kind of assistance. I've learned the most likely places to locate certain kinds of creatures on certain worlds and i can make a very good living selling meats and doing explore missions because of this. To be honest i don't know why you feel you need a PA to do this much less try to monopolize a name that should be being used by Rebel PAs. I think the mistake you made was making it a PA and not just a forum that you all share info on.
